    Thank to my local dim sum joint, I am able to enjoy dishes with intestines and others such as chicken feet, as a white/native american man, this is a wonderful chance to see dishes from all over the world. And my, I gave them a try, and it actually tastes wonderful, it's really a blend of unique textures. Thank you for posting such videos! I love your recipes!

    I don't really eat organs any more, except chicken liver, but I did when I was a child. It used to be a common food in Sweden because it's cheap but it's becoming less and less common, at least among young people. Still, it's always interesting to look at your video and lead about other countries food culture. :)

    I have had a dish very similar to this, and I gotta say, I really liked it. All the different textures were great, the broth was flavorful, and even though the organs themselves don't have a strong flavor, they are great at absorbing any spices and taking on a new flavor. Even the sauce looks good, but I've never had tamarind juice mixed with fish sauce. all i know is i love fish sauce, even if my husband does say it tastes of fish butt.

    This seems delicious! In Portugal we use all the three organs you used on your recipe, only separated. But I know some people don't like this kind of food, probably because they think too much and never really taste it.

    Just to share, we cook these things seperate. My grandma used to make a stuffed tongue so good, that I did not know it was tongue. It tasted like roasted beef. We make a stew called mondongo. It has intestines, beef stomach and pig feet. It is delicious. We also make a different stew that has beef heart, lungs, kidney and beef liver. So good. I also love the heart and liver pan fried with a little butter. I am making myself hungry!

    I'm one of those types who has never tried certain organ meats, and the ones I did, I did not like. Namely chicken gizzards. This soup however looks yummy! I'd be willing to try it! I have no clue what any of it would taste like apart from the ginger but I'm sure it's good!

    • @laks6215
      @laks6215 9 лет назад +1

      It's good to be adventurous, since not all organ meats are created equal! Heck, even chicken gizzards could possibly taste good to you if they were cooked a different way. Especially her suggestion with most organ meats, with a soak in a starch or backing soda water solution. I didn't like chicken livers the first time i made them in a rice dish, but i always altered my method a little bit every time and although I don't LOVE them, the meal is quite edible now!

    • @syn010110
      @syn010110 9 лет назад +1

      Deep-fried chicken gizzards are like the South's version of popcorn chicken and they are amazing. Pretty fond of deep-fried chicken livers too.

    • @MamaHasCurves
      @MamaHasCurves 9 лет назад

      Corinn Heathers I'm from the south! My mom would pick up a tub of fried chicken gizzards from Publix and tricked me one too many times, saying it was something else. Maybe it was just Publix chicken gizzards... but those things were funky! LOL

    • @syn010110
      @syn010110 9 лет назад

      Christina Mancuso I've found that the "traditional" way of cooking them by boiling them first and then frying them leads to funkiness. My preferred method is to marinate them in seasoned buttermilk overnight. No funk, much more tender.

    hai helen ;)
    this is the first time i comment on your video since i subcribe it last year.
    about the disclaimer that you did at the beginning its good for those who are not fan of intestine.
    but for me, even i do not eat pork because i'm muslim but i do watch your pork recipes video. and if i want to try it i will replace with beef or chicken.
    it is the same when the ingredient contain alcohol (muslim also cant consume alcoholic drink) or any ingredient that i cant find it at my place, i will skip it or replace it with any ingredient that is suitable.
    for me, cooking its about try and error and how to be creative ;)
    even i'm not an expert in cooking as you and other people do :p
    i'm not trying to pretend good. but as viewer we should be wise without hurting the uploaders who make an effort to post something for benefit others. if we like it, continue watching, if not stop and find others video that suit with us ;)
    its all about respect and appreciate. and helen, no need to worry about what others will say, you did a great job ;) hug from malaysia :D
