Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that many french canadians hold a lot of contempt and distrust towards the liberal party, but still wish to vote for a left wring party, which the Bloc is in many ways (they're social dems and environmentalists), so they're the second choice. The cons mentionning anything at all about abortion very quickly killed their chances in QC (the debate is basically closed here and has been for a while), and the NDP tends not to perform as well as the Bloc in QC so that makes them the better alternative left party (as much as it pains me to admit as an orange voter myself.)

The result is people from anglo-saxon countries calling France racist, and for the same reason Canada, when most of them are americans and the US is not very known for its treatment of minorities... And calling every single quebecker racist because the NDP was not voted much is complete bullshit and, ironically, quite racist.

I'd love to see a Pipeline keeping the Refining etc in Canada and if required, stretch the pipeline east to the edge of Quebec, and west to the edge of BC and stop there. Let those ends of the country buy Saudi Oil, until the Saudi government decides to cut them off. At least Alberta and all the First Nations tribes that live along the Pipeline would have work, building it and maintaining it, and running a refinery, and Manitoba, Alberta, Sask., and Ontario would have a great source of Canadian Oil and Gas. I support the PPC. It's quite true that we didn't win any seats but if you look at any of the other current parties [that are younger than 100 years old, they too didn't get any seats the first year. [from a local newsletter] The PPC overall garnered at least 292,703 votes nationwide (based on 99.67% returned; about 245 polls have YET to be reported, believe it or not), which is really a magnificent achievement for a 13-month-old party (the Greens got just 26,921 votes in their first federal election in 1984, and the newly minted Reform Party -- at the time focusing only on Western Canada -- received 275,767 votes in the 1988 election.)
(One statistic that gives your Editor a smidgeon of solace is that the popular vote for the Liberals was down by almost exactly one million votes compared to the 2015 election!)

They both constantly repeated regurgitated punchlines and this was usually done after an unrelated question was brought up.
Trudeau could go on about helping the middle class while at an event for abortion for instance (Its just an example, I remember seeing things like this before but can't remember a specific occurrence. One time this happened at the stampede in Alberta a few years ago although I cannot remember what question was asked, all I remember was that it certainly had nothing to do with the middle class lol). As I was watching the returning officers count the ballots, we came across 3 or 4 ballots that had voted for the Rhino Party. The election officials weren't sure whether or not to accept them because instead of an X the voters had drawn smiley faces with tongues sticking out! The officials skimmed through their manuals to see whether or not this was acceptable. As the smiley face was technically not a prohibited symbol, and they were entirely within the white circle, we agreed to accept these votes as legitimate. Yet your message seems to be naturally confrontational as you assume for some reason that I want or need you to seek out my approval or that all Americans do? Well don't worry if you do believe that as China, Russia, and most of the middle east is a bigger concern then Canada for a dozen more reasons.
Did my joke offend you? In which case how? Was the word "bug" to strong? Maybe I should have said "Annoy" or "upset? Maybe I need to go more extreme so that hopefully others would be able to tell it's just a joke like "infuriating" or "pissed"
Please I am quite curious on how your mind works.

I'd have to dig into it, but it seems that the reason for the CPC winning the popular vote is more to do with their 55-85% vote share in AB riding's, opposed to actually having widespread popular support in the rest of Canada.

Didn't fully realize this was about the 2019 election and not the 2021 election until he started talking about Andrew Scheer. Should tell you something about the 2021 election.

I Voted Green in this Canadian federal election. I felt like they were the only ones looking for a way forward, and they seemed to be genuinely concerned about the economy and the environment.

But to be honest, political parties vary across countries (including their positions, members, goals etc.). Only because both are called “Green Party”, it does not mean at all that they are actually the same or even similar. Even when ignoring this first point, only because one person has a different opinion on a particular topic than you do, this does not mean at all that it needs to affect you in any way. Of course it is important to see other perspectives but you are in no way obliged to change your political perspective! ☺️

If Canada had a system of government and elections like the Swiss have it would be a much better country.
