@@treycash8876 They built SLS because there weren't viable commercial options at the time. But yeah, NASA is not a launch services provider and would not mind getting out of that entirely if there is a good commercial market. And SpaceX does not do space science and exploration, so they aren't comparable at all.

    Beautiful lunch!
But what are those objects on the aft end of the third stage nozzle that are moving around? They kind of look like leaves and are moving around circumferentially what appears to be at will. There was initially one on the starboard side, but quickly multiplied to around 4-5 objects. They also appear on the port side of the spacecraft This begins around 4:40 into the launch and just after the fairings are jettasend. If it is FOD, there is no way it can remain on the spacecraft at those velocities. Does anyone know what they are?

But if you’re impressed with that, I’m sure you’d be interested to know that they are currently launching falcon nine rocket that have been used over 20 times. For this mission Falcon Heavy was fully expanded which increases the cost to maximum.
When starship is fully ready there will be no parts that will expanded for more thrusts.
Instead they will refuel in LEO and provide starship enough fuel for higher orbital insertion such as this and come to on earth 100%.

It will be going out to Mars, then back to earth, for gravity assists, then out to Jupiter. Should be there about 2030. There are 49 planned close flybys of Europa. It will not be orbiting Europa, and it will be a highly elliptical orbit so that he can dip and run, because the radiation is unbearable. Jupiter traps, radiation similar to our van Allen belts, but like 100 times more.
The launch required a falcon heavy, which is essentially a falcon 9 with two falcon 9 first stage is attached to it. It had to use every bit of energy/DELTA-V it could muster, so it was not returned, and was rather burned up in the atmosphere. That’s not common for spacex obviously. There wasn’t a choice, at least, until starship becomes fully operational.

No, but on the bright side that means this was the first super-heavy lift launch out of Florida since Skylab 1's Saturn V in 1973

Thus, our journey begins. 🌌 The Europa Clipper is set to enter Jupiter's orbit in 2030, embarking on a six-year odyssey across 1.8 billion miles. 🚀 As we ponder this monumental endeavor, we can't help but feel the weight of our emotions. What will we be doing in that moment, and how will we be living our lives? 🌠

Damn, so nice to hear these young male voices doing the narration. I get so tired of politics with these launches where they have the silly girls reading from the scripts they are given.
