Wow thank you. This saved my ass. I wasn't using the parenthesis and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. None of the other instructions I found mentioned them.
Set you function under "y=" then 2nd "table" (top right of the calculator). Then input x values and it will show you the calculated y values in the next column.
To add on to this, make sure you do Tblsetup first (hit 2nd then the window key). Makes inputting values much faster if you set the independent variable to ask instead of auto.
I'm deeply inspired by this material. A book on these topics was a key factor in my personal evolution. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze
Hey I know this vid is very old.. but how come you didnt just use -3.001 and -2.999? It seems you could have estimated it with 2 values, or am I wrong?
x^2 - 9 can be factored into (x+3)(x-3). The (x+3) in the denominator cancels out with the (x+3) in the numerator, leaving x-3 which is essentially a straight line with a "hole" at x=-3. The limit exists (from the left and right), but the function is undefined at x=-3. I'm sure you know this. I love the innovations of the modern calculators. I collect them. But I have a fear that these machines will take away the need to think as humans. Thinking is critical. It is our purpose. This is what AI is leading to. It might take away our purpose. What are your thoughts? These "calculators" are beyond that. They are computers.A computer is not needed to evaluate this limit. I have taken a "refresher" course in Calculus, and I have discovered that as these "calculators" are allowed, the problems given are complicated to an extent that the study becomes "math for math's sake", which really masks the beauty of calculus. Do you agree?
So I just bought a new TI-84 Plus CE and I did everything you instructed to do on the calculator and I am not getting that answer at all and my graph is completely different.. I reset my calculator after and its the same thing.. I need a calculator to do my HW / Quizzes but somehow my calculator is giving me completely different answers..someone help me please because I have never had an issue like this before
You might be putting a subtraction symbol for the negative numbers instead of the negative symbol that is to the left of the enter button on your calculator
This helped me to be able to do my calculus homework more than the whole last 4 days of instruction. Thank you so much!
ur a fan of isaac newton but cant do limits?
Way to keep things simple. Lots of math videos out there that seem to verbally over complicate things. Very helpful video!
Wow thank you. This saved my ass. I wasn't using the parenthesis and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. None of the other instructions I found mentioned them.
seriously i dont know how to thank u!!!ur video was a life saver!!! i was confused with my calculator...thanx a ton :D
This just saved my butt on my Calculus homework. Thank you.
I actually have a newer version of this calculator and I do the table method but this was still very helpful.
Use (-) for -3.1 and not the subtraction operator - . Hope this helps.
lifesaver, I was a wondering why there was error
You are a lifesaver I was so confused
saving my ass once more. thanks! you explain it like no other!
Omg thank you so much for this! You have no idea how it helps!
Bro from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Using a table is much much easier

@@derbaderb123 You may have forgotten you made this comment six years ago, but it's saved me much time and frustration tonight. Thank you!
@@sean6793 Thank you, you've saved me a lot of frustration!
Thank you, it’s really helpful
Great video! Detailed, but to the point.

That sounds neat. I'll check it out. :^D
thank you!! saved my test grade!!
What happens if your limit goes to infinity? what value should you plug in?
You can try putting in larger and larger values to explore the limit at infinity.
Thnks so much man! for the longest I would be the noobg who just types it as is and puts it in the answer box haha
TO Alex Nunez:
Reset all window values to the default setting.

Thank you! Sir do you have calculator techniques using a Pioneer XDJ-RX2?
Isn't that for sound mixing? :^D
An excellentttttt explanation! Thank you boss

Lol the voice crack haha
you were excellent! this helps. thank you so much
what about if i have tuse infinity as my x value?
Thank you. It really helped.
Helped out ALOT. Thanks
Omg thanks for this, it really helped

You called it! With all of the recent breakthroughs concerning AI it looks like that's exactly where we're headed
Oh my goodness THANK YOU I can finally do my calc HW
Thank you! Sir do you have calculator techniques using casio fx 991ES PLUS?..
***** Great! Thanks and Godbless sir :)
Thank you im bouta nail this test like my bitch
Hello, I need help! How do you find the infinite limit of a function using a ti 84?
Oh ok. Thank you very much!

You're in degree and not radian?
I keep getting syntax error when I put any value under X. What am I doing wrong??
You might be putting a subtraction symbol for the negative numbers instead of the negative symbol that is to the left of the enter button on your calculator
Well that's one part of Calc that just became easier
LIFE SAVER THANK YOU
Hi I get ERR:SYNTAX what is wrong?
+Matthew Wang Have it in Degrees?
+Matthew Wang syntax error means that you are probably missing something, either a parenthesis or something.
Thank You so much!!!!!
thank you
thanks
awesome thank you
you are going to heaven
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! :DD
thanks man
That's OP dude
You are freakin awesome.
or use a table???
1:13 when hitler found out he failed
You did not!-- just do that... xD
You da man.
If u do L'hopital u get the answer in a millisecond
Nice nice
Thank you
