Thanks for Watching!
I've watched a ton of tree felling videos and have learned from a few of them, however you have a way of explaining the process that I had never heard before. Well done, young man!
You took the words right out of my mouth. 👍
Hi
You've got a flare for teaching mate. Great job great video thanks.
I watched your video today and went outside to cut down a tree next to my house. I never heard of the idea of a hinge and where to place it. Tree fell exactly where I wanted it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
"I cheat, I have a felling line on my saw" sir that's called working smarter and harder.
This video was very very detailed and very informative and is proof of why good arborists cost what they do and why they are worth every penny. Great job.
Smarter not harder
I've never seen anyone bore through a face cut before. This is a technique I'm definitely going to work on in the woods.
Thanks
Agree... but why not a tad high so step remains to prevent kickback.
Love your videos. Thank you
@@daveoseas Maybe he does it to troll the stump Nazis 😂
Excellent! Your ability o explain clearly and precisely what you are doing, without over explaining, is refreshing, thanks! Great video!
Hey man, thanks for how you explain what you are doing. Good stuff!
I work with trees in ireland, and love limited access work.it's always a nice challenge, and teaches you how to plan a job ,and work methodically.thanks for sharing your knowledge, and taking the time to post it.there's a lot of newbies out there, and your instructions are clear and concise.57 now,and been working trees since I was 11,as my grandad was a French Canadian lumberjack and he's send me out in the yard with a saw and a

OMG. Such beautiful controlled safe precision! You make it look so easy.
You have a new fan living quite a long way away, United Kingdom. Your teaching style is exceptional and you really do have a gift for delivering the message in easy everyday terms. I love your tutorial. Many many thanks 😊
Thanks Geoff! Glad we could help and give you a few suggestions. More to come thanks for watching we appreciate the support 😊👍

Nice to see someone who not only knows which techniques to use when but why they work. This video had a couple of techniques I hadn't seen before, such as the "logger's glue" and the "palm tree" cut. Boring through the hinge to make room for a wedge was a good tip too.
Thank you for the methods that save lives. Had to rewind and do a double take several times. Awesome. New sub.
Excellent info and demonstrated well
I have never seen the last example on the small tree I will be using that technique
This is the best video for felling trees I've seen. I felled a 30 footer right next to my house with great success but it probably took me three times as long as a pro. Usually I only fell dead gum trees in Australia for firewood. Up to forty to fifty feet high but always in bushland away from buildings. I always look up and check for branches and have a good escape route. And I never fell trees thicker than say, twelve to fourteen inches. Leave the big trees for the pros. Dead gum trees that are very dry, can also suddenly fall down when cutting for a hinge, so sometimes I just cut the 45 degree cut at the front and then do the back cut. They fall very easily.
This was really helpful, I am going to give it a shot, funny you said 100 bucks per tree to get down, to take down on 30 foot Burch tree they wanted $850...California sucks....
Thanks very much for these videos I’m training myself on how to use a chainsaw a and how to cut trees down safely. All the knowledge you need in these videos and lots of practice and you can go make your self a lot of money!!!
Nice job guys.
Interesting bore cut on your last tree.
"As simple as that!' LOL! I'm having a coronary just sitting and watching this! Skills. Stick with what you're good at and leave the rest to those who're good at what they do.
This has been a phenomenal "tutorial." Thanks for sharing!
Good quality content. Not just somebody filming a pro at work. Actually described what you were looking at, what your plan was, why your plan was, and step by step tips along the way. All filmed nicely so we can see what you were intending us to see. Well done. Subscribed, so your content will pop up on my feed again. Thanks for sharing.
Hey man just come across your channel, first video I have watched. Great work and teachings! A pleasure to see. Stay safe.
Great video I learned a lot and a free subscription hoot hoot
You are definitely worth subscribing to
Your great man so interesting and a nice guy all round man
Learning a lot, thanks. Same with you deer hunting videos, same guy, right?
I am a do it yourself, but this is something that I will defer to the pros like you. The way you fell them with such precision was a great example of how your pay is not for the cutting, it is for the thinking.
The palm tree cut I like because if your felling in the woods and the tops get hung up you can cut the hinge on the hung up side to help it roll off the other tree but still stay partially hooked to the stump
This guy is the best!!!! Sharing his knowledge!!
Fine Fine job. Thanks for the info.
WOW placing that tree between the house and well head was awesome
Excellent job my brother, enjoyed watching you guys in action.
Thank you for the helpful video.
Cool Channel and very informative "subscribed and liked".
Do you hake any vids on segmenting up a large (24'+ diameter) felled tree that is lying flat on the ground.
Avoiding binding while top cutting or running the blade into dirt when its too large/heavy to roll/move/lift the tree around?
Something like that.
Precise education... Felling trees close to buildings is risky business... Well Done. Thanks,,, BTW... In MI I paid $800/tree for the same service,
Excellent video sir, may I ask where you are located?
Maine 👍🪵🌳
Really dig these videos
Super thorough. 5 stars & 10/10
Idk your target audience but if its for beginners and DIY folks, hear me out below. I mean this only constructively.. if you were to slow it down, I feel like I'd catch 40% more of everything you're teaching. You say very beneficial, thoroughly explained things but also very quickly; and in combination, you're also speaking your tree language. So for newbies its hard to follow if the words don't get explained along the way. But don't listen to anyone on the web either lol
Thank you so much for the videos man, I learned a lot!
that palm tree boring was art. I live in Florida with a ton of palms and am looking forward to using it.
Dang.... Good video bro. Actually the best video I've seen so far... Good stuff. Thanks!
I think a couple guys are doing that right outside my apartment complex, literally on the other side of my bedroom window. It sounds the exact same and everything. At 8 in the morning. But they've been going at it for 3 hours today. Does doing this often take long? I'm assuming it depends on the amount of trees and work that needs to be done. But this is the second morning of it for hours. It's just the bzzzzz noises and then a bunch of thwacking 😅 I just wanna sleep.
I've been quoted $800-$1000 NZD to cut a thin 6m tall palm tree down... which is why Im here. I only have my 'lady's' chainsaw (small electric) but think I'll use a hand saw so I can reach up with an extension pole and cut it down in sections. Any tips for cutting the top 2m off a tree from the ground (angles of cuts will be off)?
Hats off man. You got skills brother. Great video.
It's just like seeing how a professional golfer makes golf look easy, only it's dropping trees. Unreal.
Nice work and instruction. I did logging on college breaks at my cousin's logging company in the 80s but we used a harvester in most cases to fell trees. Like said in the video have your escape route clear and you run faster and safer when you drop your saw. *I'd still call a pro to fell trees near buildings.* Don't be that guy who has to pay out of pocket for roof and structural damage to his house. HO made a good call getting you to down the trees tho not sure if he was prepared for the amount of non-firewood waste he had to haul off or chip with a home-owner sized chipper.
I'm dropping 30 -40year old sugar maple right up next to the house on a rock outcropping over the middle of the dwelling, east winds in November sank the Edmund Fitzgerald over the North Chanel from and of the great Lake Gitcy Gummi ends right over the hill I live on in Almaguin.
Really interesting techniques. Always amazing watching a real professional do their work.
Very informative! 🙏
$100?? I got folks quoting me $4k for a tree
Depends on the tree and what is needed to get it down.
I love your channel. Excellent. I was just working with multi trunk Leland Cypress near fences and homes- things did not always go as planned but no damage or injuries, thank God. Any videos with tips?
OH, any cutting info when using a extension ladder, maybe you have a video on that already?
Thanks to your precise instruction I felled a hickory that took a long time to complete the 60° wedge. It landed right where we planned and the small target small error concept really helped.
Love this Chanel Seen it once or twice. But watching now before I get after this fairly big to me pondy pine in my yard. I need it to fall a certain way and it’s not the way it looks like it wants to. Makes me nervous. Its pretty big snow on the ground. I feel like I need to get a rope or cable in it and pull with truck or quad to make sure it goes that way. But not sure. Iv got wedges now this one has me concerned with the size , lean and crooked way it’s growing and kind of growing on a hill
Wow its only $100 to have a tree like that felled by an arborist? That's cheaper than I expected. I'm in the UK and thought it'd cost more in America
I like that Palm Tree Cut.
I’ve used the Double Hinge aka Shark Gill
Boring cuts are exciting! (Not boring!)
You're way more confident than me! Just wedges. Wow. I've built an air fired line shooter and put a line way up first without climbing, pull up a heavy rope, then with a pully to pull in the direction I want but not towards my winch, I'll winch in to tension the top a little. Then face cut 45 degrees under, with the straight on top. Then tighten the winch. Back cut. Have my helper winching in and I leave a very thick hinge and let the winch pull it over. For me, I'm not experienced enough to know exactly where the tree's going with just cutting and wedges. That line is real easy to predict where the tree's going. I'm no pro, so spending an hour on setup for the winch isn't a problem. I practice on leaners in the woods so no matter where the tree goes, it's not going to cause some massive issue.
thank you for explaining this. It is easier to congest than old and long video clips from official institutes.
I actually saw you use that bore for the wedge method in a "short", and I had not seen that used before, so came for a look at the channel and like what i see. Thank you for sharing!
I just had a swag of trees removed from around my house, hollow, rotten, dodgy things. I had a professional in to do it, but I probably would for anything that could hit the house. I am quite happy to drop my own trees as needed further away from the house.
Hi, absolutely grate video and I really like the chane saw that you use, I need some advice, I have 2 trees that are about 30 or 35 feet tall, there pritty close to my house, but here's the interesting part, both trees are coming from the same trunk , and the first 1 is closest to the house leans over the house slightly s over the house, I think I can do it but my girlfriend is a bit doubtful about my doing this, can you offer some advice for me ??? Thank you.
Laverne Johnson
This person is extremely excellent at cutting trees. Makes it seem easy 😂
Great video. Really enjoy your method of breaking down the process and explaining the why behind your choices. I would love to continue to see you break down and explain in detail different methods to achieve safe results with complicated trees. I have lots of heavy learners and dead trees that are hung up on other trees. Barber chairs and hollow cores are some of my biggest challenges as I try to reclaim our forest behind our house. Thanks for the great content.
👍👍👍
Great work. You've definitely mastered your craft. Keep up the hard work
Good job boys
Thank you so much I learned alot from this and I ended up cutting my own!
YAY!!! Top Branch is back!!! :)
Can a leaning tree overcome a hinge?
For example if the tree is leaning north but you felling it East or maybe NE. Will a nice thick hinge keep it from falling to the side it is leaning towards?
Wow! Took me a minute to figure out where I’ve seen ya before… didn’t recognize ya without your lacrosse boots and Maine orange vest!
Thank you sir
I already know how to but am just seeing how you guys do yours
That was fucking amazing man! I learned so much! Thanks!
That look he gave the camera after the last one went down. 🥶 ice in his veins!!!
Nice instructions. I’m learning a ton as I begin to cut deadwood for firewood. Thank you
Sigh, If I had my life to life over... I am not going to try to remove an elm that is next to the power lines that are running to my home. Just as you said... don't be over confident!
What saw are you using exactly. I appreciate your videos!!!
Really good instruction. What do you do if you get one that leans back on you and pinches your saw in place? I had one happen the other day. Luckily I was in the woods and the tree could fall the other way and not damage anything. I had planned for the tree to go the other way but got the blade pinched before I could wedge. I had a second saw and cut the open face and let it go the way I had not intended but watching your videos I can imagine a lot of bad things could have happened.
Very informative and easy to watch…great job!👍🏻Thanks
Thank you for videos. I learn more from your videos than any one else. Keep them coming😅
Love seeing you guys work. Great demo and super extra info.
Is tying rope to a tree and pulling it in the direction you want it to fall before cutting it helpful at all? Or will the rope become a liability? Just trying to be sure it doesnt hit a shed that its next to and leaning towards, xD
You're good, so when can you come over to help with a few trees.
Great simple straightforward instruction…
Why does this guy often do his back cut in line with the face and not 2” above the face part? Is there a reason for this?
Awesome!
$100 to fell a tree? I wish. LOL!!!
Bless I liked this video so much, I subscribed to your channel. Thanks 😊
Very informative Bro Excellent video , this kid good Billy Ray Lol. Craig Pa
Thanks , your a good teacher! How about a video on hinge cutting for edge of a food plot?
Great job. Safely done like a boss!
Hele ty Coprfilde dělal si někdy v lese,víc toho namluvíš než uděláš 🤣
Outstanding video! Thank you for sharing.
Great video and explanation! Please do a Video on how to start the nose of the bar into the tree and continue on through with the bore cut.
This guy is the best I've ever seen and has the ability to teach. How do I hire this man for a job?
Topbranchtreeservice.net
Awesome techniques, thank you for sharing.
Great video. You have mad teaching skills.
Hey where are you located are you anywhere located near Columbus Georgia
Have you ever left 10ft for a chainsaw carver? That tree near the house was nice and fat, i would've carved a bear 🐻😆
Not yet but that would be sweet! 👍
Were the first tree lean in the final direction already before you started cutting it? Because it fell where id had to without the use of wedges
Jesus is in every tree.
" Split a piece of lumber, I am there."

Go thump your bible elsewhere.
I've never seen anyone bore through the hinge like that...
What would be the purpose of the “ tongue and grove” cut?.. when to use it?
You're a master, I'm impressed
I really enjoy your videos and the way you speak and share them
