Amen to that. Agreed, wholeheartedly. Makes me want to buy an Irish Bouzuki and start learning how to play it (I'm a guitarist and pianist). Such a wonderful instrument, and so beautifully played by the artist.
It took me only ten seconds to realize how tremendously talented this man is. His singing is exceptionally expressive. Provided he doesn’t crash and burn or get killed somehow, we can count on several decades of amazing music. Thank God he decided to quit his day job and instead sing for the world.
All the musicians here are blown away. I think he’s more impressive, the more you’ve played. The tone of his voice, his timing.....moving and brilliant.
THIS IS HOW TO SING FOLK!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! Why do all the other folk singers sound so dull and drab, when Daoiri's vocals soar to the sky and are full of LIFE and colour. Stunning!
Daoirí’s brilliant. But I’m not sure who you’re listening to, to be thinking all the rest sound dull. How’s about Brad Tuck? Ye Vagabonds? The Mary Wallopers? Nathan Rogers? That’s if we’re talking modern-day. If we’re talking some lads who’ve come before, there’s plenty more to choose from. And the greatest of all, for me, would have to be Stan Rogers. Daoirí’s fantastic, but he’s certainly not the only one out there.
@@alexanderguestguitars3619 No worries 😁 Definitely give Stan Rogers a listen if you haven’t before, you’ll be in for a treat. David Kincaid’s a good shout, too. Maybe you’ve already heard him do it, but Daoirí Farrell does a fantastic version of the song ‘Hills of Granemore’. You should give it a listen, too.

This is the most stunning live version of this song that I've ever encountered. So powerful and so fluid. Brilliant, gifted musician. Breathtaking performance. Sounds like some sort of panning delay (and possibly a hint of reverb..?) were used. They're barely there, but they subtly stand out and liven up the mix, in a very tasteful way. Also, every note was very clearly defined and nicely captured. Very nice work by everyone involved, including Mr. Farrell (obviously) :-).
I just came across Daoiri playing this a few days ago and I cant stop listening to all his iterations. What a fantastic voice! I listened to the original recording and Daoiri brings it to another level. I need to convert it to DADGAD on guitar and learn it.
Unbelievably mesmerizing. The voice, the instrument, the suspended chords and scales. This deserves a symphonic orchestra, prices and recognition from Ireland music and arts ministry.
I highly recommend to any Americans to goto dublin and meet true Dubliners. It will change your life. Those people know how to make your soul quiet. The only way i can describe.
For me, he represents the best combination of singing and accompaniment. A fantastic voice served by a high-class playing of the Irish bouzouki.

Please never take this video down. It brings my soul to life.
The level and quality of musicianship on display here is rarely achieved. It really is superb.
And then you realize how long Daoirí has been performing at his level.... I have yet to get tired of hearing him sing this song....
@@shenanigansofmannanan I felt this way, as well. Listened to it countless times. So glad it was posted here.

A rising star, a classic Irish bouzouki and one of the finest Celtic festivals in the world. Put Celtic Colours on your Bucket list.
I think this lad has singlehandedly rewritten the definition of "Irish tenor." Magnificent performance!

Nels Andrews, John Elliot, AJ Roach, look them up
I don’t believe he missed a single note with either his voice or his bouzouki. Amazing.

one of the best performances of The Greggan White Hare……grand..
So mesmerizing and beautiful! I’m a fan of Daoiri Farrell!!
Great to see such raw talent continuing the Irish singing tradition with such class.
Fabulous Daoiri...simply wonderful. Many thanks and best wishes from your Scottish supporters. Alba agus Erin gu bragh.
outstanding performance ... a privilege
Pure class. I could listen to this man forever.
I've heard only the audio for a couple of months now and with this video I just realized he's doesn't have a band with him. He's that good.
Just played this back to back for 45 mins ( doing the ironing) absolutely wonderful: thanks Daoiri
me too
I have to play this at least once a day ❤️
The intonation is incredible on this version.
The sheer power and energy of the man.consummate musicianship and brio…!

This man is amazing what a musician and what a voice
We go to Ireland twice a year and always seem to be there at the wrong time. I would love to see Daoiri playing somewhere
Amazing Daoirí 👏
One of the finest folk performances i've ever seen!

Best version ever❤️❤️
I just love this song: so strong and powerful!
All I can say is "brilliant!"
Wonderful! Make a point of hearing him live, a whole mix of serious & humourous songs, fine musicianship and plenty of BANTER.
So pleasing to the ears. When his voice soars with that fast vibrato it is something to behold. So talented to multi-task that well.
Wow! What an amazing musician. Outstanding!
Gorgeous ever Dairy exquisite ever the best thank you
Such a talent ....gorgeous voice, harmonious with the bazouki
Awsome version. Altogether Fantastic!
I keep coming back to this , fantastic ! ❤❤❤
Truly exceptional- wow. Inspired me to buy an irish bouzouki
I do Skype lessons.

Your music lifts my soul. Please come to America
Incredible!!! thanks...... from Spain
Brilliant from a crumlin legend
Get up the yard!
I don't understand why 6 people would dislike this....
They tied their shoelaces together sitting by the side of the road, and one slapped the other, and then on from there.
Thanks for the lesson.
Stunning.
amazing!
Mind blowing
Super performance.
what a voice
Gorgeous! Greetings from Asturies!
We’ve no musicians, save a few. This is one.
Daoiri is Ireland .
Speechless, it's just...

Great! By italy
Amazing. Heir to Ronnie Drew.
It's airport guy. Galway girl!
Getcha some of that Johnny Moynihan 🍀
I want him to sing me to sleep. Like rich ol Irish tales as I drift off into a imaginary field but before I crash out i want to do an Irish Car Bomb.
You found your niche then 🎵
Great song and performer but that is not just one man surely?
this is romantic.?
Of course a very good version but not the same level of the best as Andy Irvine does. Andy is the top folk singer all over the world.
Beautiful!
❤❤❤
