Glad to see you’re OK and recovered majority of your gear! Love to paddleboard fish and have been for 10+ years down here in south Louisiana. Been in the drink many times, and am always prepared to potentially go in. Glad to see you talking about PFD…that and a whistle super important as things can go sideways so quickly. Even though I don’t think paddleboard fishing is the most efficient/effective way… its my favorite, and sure is a blast! Great video man-thanks for posting!
Great video. I was thinking the whole time before the flip "no way I could keep from taking a dip" LOL. I have flipped the Bite twice so far. User error, I love the Bites I bought from you. I lost one rod in the Elk River. I like the chest mount video, I like how you show what lures you are switching to and what setup you're using. Keep up the good work, glad you are okay.
Yeah they are great for hard to reach places! The lesson I learned is to prepare as if you know you will flip when on a paddle board. Make sure your stuff is strapped down or floats! Keep up the great work!
I’m glad to see that you survived with relatively little damage. I have used a SUP several times and I don’t think I would try fishing from one. It was definitely neat to see you doing that tho.
I had a thermoformed kayak with a mysterious leak in it. So, I had picked up about 2 gallons of water in the "bilge" and I had gotten a hook stuck in a lily pad. I reached over, like I had a hundred times before in other kayaks to pull it loose, then boom! I was turned over with no chance to recover. It was like a Judo flip: one moment you have your opponent in a great position from up top, then you are on your back. The culprit in the kayak? The water in the kayak's bilge sloshed to the left with me as I leaned over to the left to pull the hook loose. Not certain there is an exact "compare" to be made with a SUP unless water had somehow gotten into it.

Thanks! Yeah it’s definitely fun to change things up with the paddle board
Glad you made it out ok! Is that an iSup, how did you get the Hobie seat to stay on?

Good deal, glad you are enjoying it! I’m sure if I fished more rivers I would flip more as well! Thanks for watching!

Thanks! Yeah it’s something that gives you some freedom to fish some hard to reach places but I wouldn’t recommend it for a primary fishing vessel.
