    Nate, I have been watching your tutorials for about 18 months now. I have learned quite a bit. I have been playing piano for the same amount of time.
    My wife just passed away a few weeks ago at 48 years old. Heart attack in her sleep. It's been hard for me.
    She didn't play but enjoyed watching me trying to learn. Could you please do "Woman" by John Lennon for her. I realize that it may be a difficult composition, or it may be hard to translate the song into a simplified form for novices such as myself. Anything you could do would mean the world to me.
    Her name was Rikki Jean, but I called her Jeana. Amazing tutorials as always.

    Wow, this is so beautiful. At first I saw Perfect and thought "Yay, P!nk", but I love this song too. (You can add Pink's "Perfect" to your mile long list, lol). PLEASE DON'T ever CHANGE the way you do tutorials; they are PERFECT 😊. After learning so many with your way of teaching, they get easier and easier, and I can usually incorporate the "extras" on the third run or so. The only thing I would suggest is mentioning what key it is in a the beginning (I think you used to do that). I know I should know by the chords, but I still need it drilled in my head, so it will eventually be obvious to me. Thanks again Nate ❤❤😍

    Another great tutorial Nate, thanks! Out of interest, the sheet music I can find for this song has it in 12/8 time, was there a reason you feel it is in 6/8? I know they are very similar, so I'm not sure if there is an advantage in notating it one way or the other. Anyway thanks again!

    • @PianowithNate
      @PianowithNate  5 месяцев назад

      Great question! When it works, I'll often teach 12/8 songs as 6/8 because it is simpler for most beginners to understand. That said...I do think of this song as being in 6/8, because the chords tend to change after groups of 6 counts...the pacing feels 6/8 to me! Typically with 12/8 chords will last for the full 12 or 2 groups of six, while simultaniously having a slower pulse of 4 being felt (12 is devisable by both 6 and 4).

      Absolutely, no reason to not try! If it is to difficult, you can always simplify the rhythm...just take it slow!

    You can actually just use the chords nate used in line without a hook atleast for the verse
    Nate you could've just recycled the progression 😅😂

      Haha yes it is essentially the same (different keys though). Good catch!
