Ok but like his tutorials are absolutely amazing. I've been playing for around 3 years now, I'm almost 14. Some songs are still challenging as I'm self taught. The other day I learned how to play "in my life" through his tutorial. But oml his covers at the ends are my favorite part. Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos. Sounds like you've got great taste and are making great progress...keep it up!!
Awesome video as always, Nate! I think it would be great if you posted more shorts with hints of what your next vídeo will be, like you did with “I Guess That’s why they call It the blues”.
Great Teaching Method ... The way You moved from simple to complex issues and Your technique to teach this complex rhythm step by step was Outstanding ....
Beautiful maestro sei bravissimo in futuro ci puoi fare Beautiful boy(Darling boy)meravigliosa canzone di J.Lennon yeah congratulations and thanks....kiss dall'Italia.
Are the people who come here knowledgeable of chord relationships as in their place on the scale such as I ii iii IV V7 vi viio7 etc. including secondary dominants and ii V7 I along with voice leading l😂
@PianowithNate the use of chord symbols as in C7b9 etc. Is one aspect of using a system and when I was at Manhattan School of Music where our theory curriculum was quite elaborate, they utilized Roman numerals to indicate chord functions. A jazz teacher I had also emphasized this as well where he wrote out the tune on manuscript and added in the chord symbols as ii V vi IV V7 etc. Ok let's get Fly Me to the Moon and Autumn Leaves some more of those jazz standards up on your tutorials. Having a wide background in the classics supports all what you demonstrate here. John Mehegan emphasized that knowing classical harmony from the Baroque on was a plus and studying Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and many others gives a pianist a lot of lessons on how to compose. All the above mentioned improvised. Regards, Peter at www.nwcmta.com member past president www.rcmtg.org member www.mtna.org
Indeed, it's why I have a course on it! www.pianowithnate.com/keys-to-chord-progressions But people of all levels find my song tutorial videos, in a random order. My goal with these videos is to make them individually accessible to beginner players, with the goal being to help them quickly learn to play that song. That's why I don't bog down every song tutorial I make with a lengthy foundational lesson on music theory. Many people who come to my channel this way then go on to explore the fundamentals in my courses, which I absolutely encourage. Cheers!

Great to hear that! Sometimes I worry that people want to just be shown one option and not have to think about the various possibilities haha

In general, no. Why do you ask?

@PianowithNate transposition is easier using numbers is also another good factor in knowing the Roman numerals wouldn't you think? 😉
