@@petercampbell8694 that would be amazing. I had this idea that if the actors are too old, maybe they could do it in an anime style but set it in the 80s, so you could have mel gibson in the team, and maybe have seagal too. Maybe clint eastwood.
I think Bennett and Matrix were once close friends, but over their time in special forces, Bennett became warped by the constant violence and slowly turned into a monster. Matrix was appalled by this and got Bennett dishonourably discharged, but Bennett felt betrayed that his friend saw HIM as the monster, when they lived in a world of death where the only thing that mattered was the purity of battle. In short, Bennett was a once good man who lost his way, became psychotic, and could no longer understanding the difference between battle and butchery, much less comprehend why his friend would be disgusted by what he had become.

You always want to hate the bad guys while watching these movies, but then you get to meet some of them at conventions and find they are actually super friendly and really cool guys. Just goes to show what good actors they are.
Vernon Wells goes to a bar and sees some guys throwing knives at the dartboard The guy tells Vernon "hey I bet I'm better than you at this game" And Vernon says "Put your knife away and shut your mouth" 😂😂
Watched this movie a lot back in the 80's. Wells said the lines good and played the part good. It's just as someone who was supposed to be from an elite spec ops group, his physique wasn't right for the role. He was a lot leaner in the Road Warrior as Wez. It would've only taken about 3 months of cross-training and bodyweight exercises before filming to get Wells more into looking the part and Arnold would've still been the bigger guy.
Yeah, I mean, Arnold had been obsessively weight training since like 12/13 every chance he got, so there's no way in hell a few months of weight training would get him into anywhere near the same shape, but that fight scene is one of the most hilarious mismatches I've ever seen - Wells looks like a taller dude with a pretty average build, and Arnold is well...Arnold, and we're supposed to buy that Bennett has Arnold pinned....lol, come on. But then the whole movie is so ridiculous and over-the-top that it's probably the least ridiculous thing about it.
"When a powerful current discharge passes through Bennett, he doesn't care about it - it even seems to recharge! However, the energy is not enough for long. The brain is the first to turn off: instead of releasing John first from P.P., Bennett begins a spherical monologue, at the same time he is simply unable to speak and pull the trigger. Matrix hurriedly tears off the pipe with his hands (one of which was disabled) and pierces this clown-tent to death..." (Red Cynic, Russian video blogger, movie reviewer) )))))
Lol, I'm probably about the same height/taller than Arnold but I wouldn't say that would mean we're well matched for a fight scene, heh. Arnold was clearly very muscular while Vernon was a bigger guy, but had a pretty average build, which is why the notion of him overpowering Arnold in the final scene always struck me as hilarious - especially considering we see him throwing off like a dozen security guards like nothing earlier in the movie.
When talking about Freddy Mercury Bennent says it would be good if he was still alive to see it? But Commando came out in 1985 and Freddy died in 1991. 🤷🏻♂️
That was funny,if matrix was here,he'd laugh too.jokes aside he might of been similar weight but lack of tone made him look way smaller.if he was in shape like he was in mad max 2 he wouldve looked more of threat but his complete lack of muscles is what makes him great
I thought he was great as Bennet. He brought a great mixture of menace and comedy to the performance. However, despite what he says, he was physically no match for Arnie.
Everyone who saw it at the time knew about that factor. It only made the whole absurdity of Commando better. Wells was the OG of zesty supervillains. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Vernon should’ve been in one of the expendables movies. Some villains can be played at any age
Agreed.
It lowkey would be the best cameo ever if he came back and died in the same way as in commando in an expendables movie.
Power rangers time force vernon wells as ransik
STILL Time! - Come on Sly, make this happen in the next instalment 👍

The background noise needs to be louder.
Sorry I can't hear you. What were you saying?
LOL!!!!!
Vernon was absolutely instrumental in that film, which by the way is the best film ever made.
Best film ever made 😂😂 Yeah k

Well Said. Nobody could say it better !
Lol, I think you might be thinking a little too deeply about a shallow, borderline comical 80's action movie.

Hey not bad.....Hooker...
You are afraid Mr. Bennet. You are afraid of Matrix.
When Bennett says 'im gonna kill you John' his face at the moment was a look of pure lust if ever I seen it.
Vernon Wells actually described his character Bennett as Freddie Mercury on steroids. It's on the Internet Movie Database.
Vernon was perfect for the part of Bennett. Classic movie !

Heck of a nice guy.

Vernon Wells is awesome.
Freddie Mercury could easily have seen Commando, he died 6 years after the movies release
I made a Bennett action figure that I’m very proud of
Mr Wells Legend.
classic commando wouldve been incomplete without vernon

Vernon wells was ripped in commando!!
His shirt was ripped you mean. From his bulging gut.
When I was child I thought that it was Angry Freddie Mercury!
Come on Vernon lets party.
Let off some steam Vernon.
i love this movie
As Bennett he was as scary crazy a psychotic as Javier Bardem's Anton Chigurh!
"Sugar?"
CMON, BENNETT...LET'S PLAY!
Melchi Zedeq
Put the keyboard away.... and shut your mouth..
Uncle Vernon))) And in our country, another "Uncle Vernon" is more famous - who lived in Surrey and whose nephew lived in a closet under the stairs)))
I love the scene in 2:41
What did he do After Commando? Did he go back Down under or he remained in Hollywood?
Badass
He should have asked him what type of person Bennett was where being electrocuted energized him? Cmon Bennett, Let's party.
They should made commando 2 when they got the chance, Alyssa Milano was in perfect shape and then time got wasted in the Charmed series
Ahhh, that's the guy who sang with Queen. I got it.
I'd LOVE to know who was originally cast as Bennett? It's hard to find online.
Let out some steam Bennett 😜

I always thought Bennett was played by Freddie Mercury on steroids lol
He's so good at playing creepy and unbalanced and yet as one can see here, he looks like the biggest teddy bear of a guy. :)
Innerspace-too
What's with this guy's questions towards the end? Took it right out of the moment.
Do you think the way bennet walks made the audiance realize he's a huge gay?
What do you mean? this was my normal walk.
Vernon wez
So it's NOT the retired MLB outfielder....
He reprised his role in No chance.

Freddy mercury love to fight matrix
Too many questions about sex, omg! Sad.
The continiued sex-questioning is kinda cringe but other than that nice questions and fun to hear him speak about it.
Anyone laugh when he says him and Arnie were basically the same size? Sounds exactly like the kinda thing Bennet would say lol, weird delusion

I thought he was great as Bennet. He brought a great mixture of menace and comedy to the performance. However, despite what he says, he was physically no match for Arnie.
Perfectly matched? No. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
shit i thought he'd be dead by now
Sorry Vernon, but being the same "height" and being the same "size" aren't the same thing.
Ransik
A mi me gusta Wez
Ransik anyone?
Commando please tell me that was a comedy
that was a Bloody-violent comedy ;-).
