ORIGINAL INFO: It’s a rare occasion when “kill it with fire” is meant as a serious command.
RUMINATIONS: While difficult to come up with new material for three years for the Silent Hill reviews that didn’t just keep feeling like retreads, there were still familiar aspects that could be called upon to set the mood - the Otherworld, nurses, Pyramid Head, a cult, emotional turmoil… but the Thing was a different monster entirely. There was no way in hell I could recreate the creature effects of such a monster. Hell, even the Pyramid Head shown in the Silent Hill reviews is fairly inexpensive and cheap, and that was just for a big-ass helmet. Try doing some kind of gooey shapeshifting monster.
As such, if I couldn’t replicate the MONSTER, what I needed to replicate was the SITUATION - the paranoia, the claustrophobia, the feeling of being trapped. And thus this storyline was born. I tried to think of every normally conceivable way out and think of a way around it - I hate it in stories when there’s an obvious solution that is completely overlooked by the protagonists and I think I covered the bases nicely. We also get a chance to see what the characters are doing in their off-time, just kind of doing their own things - 90s Kid with a copy of Clive Barker’s Ectokid (originally scheduled for the first year of Longbox of the Damned, but never went anywhere), Dr. Linksano just doing some basic science stuff with his coat off, and Harvey just walking in and out again to provide a very simple red herring for the audience to think he was specifically responsible.
Speaking of, I must have been a madman. Like I said in the last video, I was EXHAUSTED from storyline, was getting ready to do another major storyline and an exhaustive one at that… and I wanted to ALSO put together 31 videos reviewing horror comics in heavy makeup? It’s no surprise I was still writing and performing Longbox episodes almost up until the end of the month. I’ve gotten better at it since then, but that was rough and I’m still surprised I pulled it off.
I’ll never forget watching John Carpenter’s The Thing with my dad, who’s usually unflappable with horror films.
The defibrillator scene made him jump so bad he almost fell out of his chair. (The blood test scene also made him jump.)
"The japanese deal with tentacle monsters all the time, but not like this."
*_NOT LIKE THIS_*
I was referencing the reoccurring gag from the pokemon movie reviews.
Who said that?
Misty. Her full quote was "Pokemon shouldn't fight like this. Not like this!"
what about the anime parasite pretty sure the parasites are like the thing, able to deform thier host and normally takeover the body of the host
Its a similar setup, but Parasites can't reproduce and eat People for the fun of it. Overall a lot of Parasyte focuses on the internal workings of the monsters, while the Thing's thought process is never even shown.
22:43
Linkara: "Why would The Thing reveal itself?"
The only possible explanation is that It's afraid of heights.
It was going to have a really bad time piloting that UFO then. Just imagine alien Wilford Brimley continuously screaming in terror as he's flying across the sky in that tiny ship.
@@aros0018 That sounds hilarious. And the ship is just going up and down like crazy.
@@aros0018 ...No, he is more afraid of dia-bitis.
@@aros0018 that would explain why it crashes.
Ahh, gotta love the old sci-fi cliche of every military character being a trigger-happy madman who only knows how to shoot them.
Yea I have to agree
+DinosaurFan88 and follow orders
You know what makes Doomguy from the Doom series such an awesome character? He only shoots the monsters, and his backstory established that he wound up getting his job on Phobos because he was court-martialed for _beating the crap_ out of his commanding officer. Why did he do that? For ordering him to shoot civilians.
@Jonathan Szuhai
Huh. Doomguy has morals? Surprising since I thought Doom was just about shooting monsters.
I mean... I get the possible commentary but last I checked, most military personnel are well disciplined.
I say this, the art is beautiful in this comic. its funny how early dark horse took the thing, aliens, predator, terminator and I think re-animator and made a good series out of them before any sequels came out. unfortunately at the time it was all about dc and marvel for me. but I started collecting stuff from dark horse in my teens. wish I got into madman then, but that was later on in life too....
As a huge fan of the Carpenter's movie, I really hate the scene from this comic where MacReady test if he is The Thing. Not only I strongly dislike "someone can be The Thing without knowing it" theory (for the reasons Linkara said in this video), but MacReady from the movie would never even entertain the idea that he wasn't himself. The guy had too big of an ego for that.
+TheWolverine1987 Good point & we don't know what The Thing think at all.
+Ben Jenkinson yes me.
One of the things I love the most about Linkara's storyline at this point is that they apparently all just chill around his house, 90s Kid reading bad comic books while Linksano does science XD it's adorable. kind of like the episodes of shows like Angel where they show that the team has become a family
Really shows how far they've come, considering Linkara once activated poison fumes to try and flush who he thought was '90s Kid out of his house, lol xD
split personality?
When was that I cant recall that at all
@@Rickbeast001 Wow have watched all the eps and dont recall that at all
I love how the Starstream version of the Thing has become this Chibi mascot for these comics
Of course MacReady is lucky. He's played by Snake Plissken!
Hell yeah!
I prefer the idea that the creature the THing absorbed isn't alive at all. The Thing just have it's memories, and that's it
The best idea I can think of for a Thing sequel would be to set it in space, either on a space station or on some kind of moon/Mars outpost. It moves the setting away from the arctic while still keeping everyone trapped, including the alien because there are no animals around it could infect and basically automatically win. The story itself could simply be that the alien is waiting until a routine shuttle arrives that can take it to an actually inhabited planet, giving it plenty of motivation to stay hidden and a ticking clock element for the crew to find out who the Thing has infected before it's too late.
I am curious how well the Thing can survive in a vacuum.
That's sound like a great story, either in comic book or fanfiction form(s).
It's amazing how broken the ContentID system (still) is.
I thankfully found the Collector's Edition DVD of The Thing months before this review was originally posted, and I agree that it is one of the best horror remakes ever made.
21:47- The closest we ever came to that was 2 years later in "The Thing from Another World: Eternal Vows."
Omfg, the plot holes are even worse than Linkara is putting forward. They explicitly state that any sort of rescue would take WEEKS - I think they say six - to arrive.
When Childs asks how they'll survive is largely rhetorical because they realistically can't.
22:17 I think in cases like this, the infection is kind of automatic and it "wakes" up in it' s most primal state, basically a hungry, cornered animal so it's first response is fight or flight. Though the face he got infected from frozen flesh that quickly and quietly seems odd.
My thought is that the thing can let the original consciousness be dominant, but that it can take over at a moments notice, like if the original consciousness might put it's existence in danger. I like how this would still bring in the terror of, "you could not be human, and you would never even know it..."
Campbell's story bears a "remarkable similarity" to an H.P. Lovecraft story which ended with a sole survivor babbling about what was shockingly revealed to be the stations along a New York subway line - meaning that the thing could imitate inanimate objects as well, and had escaped.
It's nice to see a Dark Horse story on here. This is the first comic from them that I've seen you do.
these are some of my favorites reviews of yours, I watch them around Halloween time every year since you first posted them up.
"Will you stop Cos-playing for 5 minutes you shrill Hobo!!!"
Actually setting a thing sequel in a desert like the Namib. It’s a similarly harsh environment and as we’ve seen that the thing has difficulty with extreme heat it would give credence for why it hasn’t spread outside of the area
Actually Linkara there's a theory i have about how opinions change overtime. its called the "Wine Age" Theory.
basically much like how slowly aged wine tastes MUCH better than when its freshly brewed, medium like movies, books and games and shows might have different opinions overtime. Specifically those of infamous quality. the likes of Batman and Robin or Howard the Duck are now "Cult Classics" because they have ripened to the point in time where their corniness are endearing and can bring about joy and fun unlike WHEN they came out where they were BASHED TO THE POINT OF BEING STUPID DUMB.
Batman and Robin cult classic? Not from anyone I have ever heard everyone still holds it as the second worst Comic Book movie...only beat put by Catwoman
18:16 If you pay close attention to the bodies then you'll notice that the bodies are Dr.Copper and Clark.
Note one of them looking like he's missing his hands, and the other (the bearded one)'s got a hole in his forehead, pressumably from a bullet.
You know I read this comic and loved it, and so i wanted to know what other people said about it. When i saw you had a review for it I said uh oh.... And as much as you are right.....I still loved it. I think its more of a bias opinion on my part The Thing is my favorite horror movie.
I heard Carpenter said the video game was canon once, but that could just be marketing or untrue
RIP Wilford Brimley
You know the thing my dad pointed out during my second watch of The Thing was that at the end they are "sharing" a drink and the other guy who isn't the main badass drinks a bottle full of gasoline that had been used for molotov cocktails and doesn't blink, heavily implying he was the infected.
Just thought I'd share that.
+TheVerySeriousLewis The bottle given to Childs carries a label on it, unlike the molotovs MacReady prepped and used beforehand. Also, he had used his last one during the climax, so the ending's still ambiguous.
Doctor Flimflim You see when I watched it with my dad he brought up that MacReady filled that one with gasoline as a test for Childs, even though he wouldn't have enough fuel left to take him out if he was infected.
I think it fits more with the awkward laugh and looks at the end of the movie, if they suspected that each other was infected then they would have probably tried to kill each other. But instead I always got the sense that the alien knew it had been found out and that MacReady couldn't do anything about it.
Also saying it has a label means nothing when all you need to do is fill a bottle with gasoline to make a molotov cocktail. Just sayin'
TheVerySeriousLewis
The label does mean something, because it can help MacReady keep the molotovs he'd use for the creature separate from the bottle he kept for drinking to keep warm afterwards. Also, Carpenter debunked the theory, stating it's just whiskey at the end. twitter.com/thehorrormaster/status/172531459201052672
Doctor Flimflim Ah shit well it would have been cool
the negative criticisms The Thing got when it was released and even having something from it be nominated for a razzie award reminds me of how Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019) got the same treatment. Despite that movie being praised by fans (myself included) and...you know the movie being GOOD
funny how patterns seem to repeat itself
Monster movies are often not respected by the establishment of Hollywood and film and criticism. The Thing’s current reception and the breakout success of Godzilla Minus One are honestly breakthroughs
There's one thing you can always depend on in horror or scifi, if the military is present then the military is regulated to being an antagonist trigger happy thug instead of being portrayed as rational men and women. But hey, I guess I cannot blame these writers. When you cannot write, its a lot easier to create generalizing stock character than it is to invest sometime into learning how to form any characterization for them or a connection from the audience.
This cliche is almost as boring and over done as the Black Thug or Magical Negro.
RenjiMaili Oh but the army and military are authority figures and therefore assholes. So it's okay to write them as dumb antagonists who don't know what they're doing instead of people with legitimate grievances and concerns. I mean, soldiers are dumb right? They go to war and kill people and stuff. That means they deserve to get crapped on.
Seriously, I hate it too. It's like this hold over from the late sixties when everyone started hating anyone in a uniform and made them just dickheads in every movie and show afterwards. It's rather disrespectful to the people who risk their lives to defend their countries, and I'm not just speaking of the US military here. Hell, if anything, they get to avoid that largely and instead its the other armies that get saddled with the stupid stick. Point is, it's just a bunch of hippie crap that got made up so they could crap on "the baby killers" and what not. It hasn't gone away because if you try to criticize soldiers being written as dumb stereotypes you called out. "You just trust whatever the government says? Do you think the Iraq War was right?" That has nothing to do with it. The point is, not every soldier in the military is a friggin idiot who never listens to worthwhile advice!
The only chance you have at sensible military portrayals, both good and bad, are in actual war fiction. Everything outside that is a crapshoot.
+RenjiMaili Aliens is one of the few movies that got EVERYTHING right in that regard.
RenjiMaili How could you forget the big cliche of horror:
The black guy dies.
Well it is Keith David. That man is an invincible badass.
FNGLHR
“disrespectful to the people who risk their lives to defend the financial interests of oil barons”
FTFY
The Thing is going out of its way to keep itself at Outpost 31...
Are we sure The Thing isn't just some outter space CEO on vacation and it's species doesn't tolerate bungling?
Evil Santa Claus, A.K.A. 'Anti-Clause'.
Actually, touch works ish. See, like Reed Richards did in Marvel Zombies, a scratch can get in without people noticing. It doesn't show or explain the thing using small scratches from a touch that people wouldn't notice. Tanning weather XD
29:33 I think Steven Moffat stole Linkara's Sonic Screwdriver for the 12th Doctor in Series 9.
TheSkully343 why would you not think the other way around?
Why would he do that....we all know Linkara is one of River Song's Husbands
10 years of the first review of the thing first comic sequel
I'd love to see an animated series based on the title card.
Hope you Review the Alien Comics in Halloween someday.
The thing is a gentle soul.
If anyone could possibly offer any possible info on this, what the hell made them think the thing only had to touch someone to infect them? Doesn't the movie kind of shoot that in the foot. I know this is a stretch but I try to use these two moments as evidence against it:
In the part where they finally subdue Blair after he's gone mad and destroyed all the equipment, you clearly see and hear Macready punch him twice with his bare hands. I would assume it was in the head since he manages to knock him out. Granted this only really makes sense if you believe Blair was already infected at that point and it may not work since we don't really know if Macready was infected or not by the end, but I think Blair was and the blood test shows Mac was still human at that point so I'll use that argument.
Second, in that part where the Norris thing bites Copper's arms off, why did Copper not get infected as shown by the blood test. I know his arms came off but shouldn't just touching him have been all it took going off what this comic says?
My apologies for rambling, I just wanted to give my two cents. Feel free to correct me if I was wrong about this, I haven't seen the movie in a while so I may not know what I'm talking about.
Declan Sheehan Fuches confirms if even a single cell gets to an uninfected person they get taken over eventually.
IF Blair was infected by that point it wasn't far enough along to pass off to Mac. Like we saw in Blaire's computer simulation it took about a minute for the Thingcells to assimilate a few human cells. It's not an instantaneous takeover.
As far as Copper goes he was infected by Norris before his death but he bled out pretty quickly from both his arms being bitten off, and Mac torched most of the room so it's safe to say Coppers body was disposed of properly. Even if it wasn't, the Thing cant (or at least isnt interested in) taking over/replicating dead cells.
Coppers cells died before the Thing could take him over. Even if the thingcells could continue to take over Copper all the guys saw him die.
I love this movie, the don't spell out everything for you and leaves you to draw your own conclusions.
SlowFlowSen Touche. my mistake.
The only problem with this is that the Thing wanted to hide, if Blair was infected he would have never destroyed the equipment and removed all methods of escape (sabotaging the vehicles and killing the dogs) as both of them would have helped the Thing get to another populated area. It wanted to remain anonymous doing anything like that draws attention
For the Content ID thing, could you do that trick where you shrink the video down while a blurry copy of the video fills up the border? I noticed Game Theory has done that instead of putting fezes everywhere.
+Matthew Cavalier There are different approaches. I use that moving background that you might have seen in the Power Rangers Samurai videos if you watched them on youtube. But those were also heavily edited to cut every ten seconds. This was a pre-existing video that would have required much more work than just putting in the text, so I did that.
Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall Try putting a cartoon fez into the scene if you don't want to deal with onscreen text.
+Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall I actually recorded “The Thing” and just watched it for the first time right before I watch your video. You’re right! The movie was pretty good!
I remember when I first saw this Back in 2012, Even though I had not seen The movie I remember being horrified when Linkara Said that The thing finds a way to get passed The Blood test.
One thing that both the writers of the comic and most likely the writers of the movie forgot about in regards to time is that “day” and “night” in Antarctica (where the film is set) don’t pass in merely a matter of hours but both take SIX MONTHS to pass, so the time frame must be much longer then what we see on screen. this wouldn’t be an issue except that the concept of the film HINGES on the location of the film being set in Antarctica.
21:46 - isn't that what happened in "Species"?
I'm years late here, but the ending is actually NOT ambiguous.
The bottle MacCreedy hands over is one of the ones you saw them dumping out and filling with gasoline. We know it's The Thing because it drank the gasoline without missing a beat.
Also, in the script and even when filming MacCreedy had his flamethrower just off panel ready to fry The Thing.
John carpenter himself said that he didn't know if Childs was the thing or not.
twitter.com/thehorrormaster/status/172531459201052672
I wonder what would happen if Macready ran into Adams and Blue from Lifeline: Whiteout.
Edit: It would be interesting to see the Green confront the Thing, especially with how much the Thing changes in Climate of Fear and Eternal Vows.
Honestly, say what you will about it, but I kind of liked what they did with the video game sequel. Yeah, MacReady has a cameo, but if I remember correctly they leave it pretty ambiguous whether he actually survived or was actually infected. Like, he helps you defeat the big super-Thing at the end, but they never 100% confirm that he's human.
"I honestly don't get people sometimes."
All creators have had periods, most notably J. Michael Strazinsky although it's not the case here.
The picture on the cover looks like a copy of the scene in the film where the guys head stretches off, just before sprouting legs. The artist just made a couple of adjustments and hid the face with a helmet.
I love The Thing. I still have a copy on laser disc. Bad ass Kurt Russell. Great quotes, paranoia, awesome ending.
Love this movie... hated the game though.
evil Santa Claus is the best damn jokes of at4w
What should one do if the Entity somehow turned real and broke free from Linkara's imagination? If that could indeed happen, how would someone stop such a creature? I'm asking simply because I'm afraid that this being is trying to take my being over. I can't let this monster win. Does anybody have a solution? How do I outsmart this horrible thing? There must be a way. I'm not kidding, there has to be a way to end this. I don't have actual NerdTech all I have is magic on it's own. What should I do? I'll be damned if I let this Universe be destroyed by some selfish Eldritch Horror. I don't want the world destroyed, is there anyone who know how to end this madness? If any expert reads this, please send me info via comments stat. This is not a prank, this is not a drill, this is real. I repeat, this is not a hoax, this is real. Contact needed post-haste.
A monster cannot escape one’s imagination and manifest into a real creature. Reality foes not work this way. You have nothing to fear
I can't believe the new movie is meant to be a Prequal!
Somewhere out there is floating the idea that, at the end of The Thing; Childs is one of them. When MacReady gave him the bottle of booze, it was gasoline, as you don't actually see MacReady drinking it...and the alien didn't notice.
John said there was whiskey in the bottle. There is a conversation in older comments who put a link of a tweet from John Carpenter (search: TheVerySeriousLewis and Doctor Flimflim )
I see 'the thing' like Dr.claw. it's best not to know and keeps the mystery alive
Yup that was the worst thing7 about Inspector Gadget the movie...seeing Claw and that he was just a normal rich guy
Since I am the first to comment on this I'll just say “I am Batman”
I am Groot.
I am Souvereign, vanguard of your destruction. :D
abletoable2able I am the Walrus. coo-coo-cah-choo!
abletoable2able I am a MAAAAN
I am DOOM!
Gotta burn em all, things!
Note to comic writers: ANTARCTICA! DOES NOT! WORK THAT WAY!
Fun fact lewis john carpenter was actually going to make a sequel to the thing and bring back childs and mac
funny thing when i first heard about the thing i thought they made a movie about the fantastic 4 thing when i never seen the movie but i have seen i few minutes of it on tv i got bored and turned the channel thinking that was a weird fantastic 4 movie
I actually want to see the Thing so I skipped the review and went to the story...
I don't think that happens too often...
23:13 the thing past through his glove and infected him
I'v seen some pictures around of what looks like a comic series where it's the justice league vs the predators like from the Arnold Schwarzenegger move or if you don't know that the AVP series and i was just wondering is that real because that sounds so cool that if it is i need to find one of the comics.
Its Real its damn real....By this Point the Aliens and or Preadtors have crossed path with most of DC including Batman/Superman/GL and the Justice League
by the way linkara what did you think of the thing game
21:37 ...isn't... Isn't that the plot of "Species?"
Wait the Doc and Clark were not infected in the film during the test even Childs pointed out Clark was human also it seemed unlikely the Thing can infect dead lifeforms since Palmer was the one who tied up Doc and Clark's corpse.
Your in luck Linkara, I watched the original movie and the prequel.
What about Windows? Seriously, we never actually see what happens to Windows, the cook. He just up and disappears right before Macready faces off with the Blair-thing.
+James Pocelinko Correction: I meant Nauls.
Linkara Has a great imagination
Linkara: I finnaly got he krabby patty secret formula!!
The Thing for PS2 is cannon to film. In the game Childs is found dead
21:37 Did Linkara just summarise the plot of the Eternal Vows Thing comic before reviewing it?
Quite a foreshadowing
Not so much summarize it as predict it...and why it changes from The coolness of the thing to just a generic run of the mill alien movie
What is that sound effect for that energy beam!? 30:43-30:49
The theory goes the drink they share at the end of the movie, is really one of mcready's molitiovs and that childs is really the thing, drinking gasoline, proving to mcready he is indeed the thing, does that mean this comic confirm this fan theory?
Bella D Copular that's a big no, child's isn't infected in THIS comic but linkara has reviewed the sequel where he was infected either on a submerine or at a later point. I do agree with that theory
Bella D Copular play the game
Apparently, at the end of the film, McCready's breath vaporizes and Child's doesn't, indicating Childs is infected. Apparently.
Hello, Linkara!
Can you check out the thing climate of fear? I garantee it's pretty good
I did! And reviewed it! There are parts I like and parts I didn't.
@@AT4W I give award for best character to agapito. He's smart, likable, and badass
Well trying to extinguish fire with bullits worked for the watch men movie so why not.
who would win? the thing or the X parasite from metroid fusion? you decide
Grant Moore the X would spread faster, so the X Parasite.
@@Morningstar91939 fair enough but the thing seems alot more cunning than the X parasite. The X were only able to escape because of components from Samus's armor.
moustache moustache
There was one reason why this great film was down-trodden at the time of release: ET. I'm not a fan of ET. I think it's over rated and took too much attention away from other, better movies of the year 1982.
XD Miller Time reference
Hey can anyone tell me what other The Thing comic was before this? Like the prequal to before reading this?
Eddi Hurta Starstream #1
21:46 Ha.
Okay this is just a weird trivia question: does The Thing gain the knowledge of the person it takes over?
It would have to a degree just for the simple fact that it uses human speech...if it did not the Things would be going Rarwrahehas Hhagehdklzjjsbadjbd
@Jfdrac Far Nah it would be " I am Thing"
Actually based on their hive like mind it would be WE are GROOT
Okay Sylvester McCoy where did you get that stuff
Mugg Men internet
Hey Linkara (or anyone else really) I want to ask if you could write a sequel to 'the thing' how would you write it just want to know since the next few reviews coming up are about the thing.
Could we convince you to have a link to the video on your site? Id be happy to white list you and watch it there.
So the thing was panned when it came out and now is loved by horror buffs and fans of suspense. So what if 20 years from now man of steel is loved by all and not reviled by half the people who see it( seriously, I've never seen a movie so divisive)
We'll see, though I really can't say that idea will come through or not
True. I mean, battlefield earth is still reviled. Still, as linkara said, it's astounding how opinions change over the years. The shining was nominated for a couple razzies, and now over 30 years later the general consensus is that the shining is awesome
I think the difference their is fan vs critical opinion....Back then critical opnion was the be all end all since their was very little you could do to measure fan support. So it might have been a thing where critics did not like it but fans who did actually saw it liked it and kept recommending it till it became big
14:10
...the artwork depicting McCreedy looks like he has bloody pants. Only really around his rear.
Oh dear. You really should have picked a different pair of trousers.
Why is the US always the ignorant evil military stereotype? I mean I'm Canadian and in my experience their alright.
My guess is that usually the ignorant evil stereotype allows for conflicts to occur in stories. Other times, people really believe the military to be super evil or uses the stereotype to preach their own political commentary and "satire".
Finally, someone who understands this. My father was in the army, and he said among the many jobs the military has, protecting the people is at the top of the list. So the evil ignorant military can't always fly in stories, Stephen King has to learn this.
Thank you. Many members of my family were in the US military and all of them are very kind and caring people who joined to serve there country and to help people. And they didn't come out of it as mindless trigger happy drones. This stereotype needs to be torched with a flamethrower!
I think a lot of people do it is just when it comes to writing TV/movies it easier to revert to a trope (Military/government is evil, scientiests have no common sense, sheriffs in small town are all Barney) then to actually develop characters in the time they have
Hey Linkara, I don't like saying this but there have been WAY too many Patreon reviews lately. Not saying I have a problem with it and I'm glad you're getting exposed to new series but I feel the Patreon reviews are taking away what the show is about. "Where BAD comics burn." I know it's your show and ho you run it is your business but I just wanted to say what I've been feeling these last couple of weeks.
Goku Black Why aren't you killing all Mortals.
I want to say it but this movie 1982 at least the people 1 stupid actually smart if you saw the other movie people died a lot but this movie people whisper about it instead of dying alone
I"ve always had 'one..huge problem' with the ending in this film. and am gobsmacked that...for all it's spirited discussion, debate, and general fan-raving' over...'what a bitchin' movie it is...( and it IS)...that no one has ever brought this up. Ok. these two, very end; one could be infected. or...none. or....both. so what does McReady do? hands Childs a fucking bottle of swill, that he was just chugging off...and Childs happily takes a pull. nice. anyone EVER' consider what a complete movie-theory-FLUB'..this was? why in the sam hell, if the entire team got to a point where they were so concerned about...'prepping own meals; contagions; blood-contact; and getting this fucking Virus...would Childs then, without even thinking, Gladly have a Lick, off McReadys Bottle?????????? I rest my case. i believe i might be the only person to have ever brought this up.... stunned at that. and that i've never heard anyone question this glaring 'movie-oversight'. WOW
Because by that point, none of that matters. They both expected to die and soon at that. If either is infected or even both, it no longer matters because they would die in the cold or be frozen if they were infected. No one and nothing was getting out of there. Death basically squares all accounts.
very well put. and it would be few explanations that i would weigh in on...and agree with. but .....know what? your right.. very nice. i suppose that'...right there...is the reason Carpenter filmed that scene that way...and didn't feel a need to 'omit' the sharing of a bottle of booze' part. thanks for your clarification. that had bothered me for years... loL!
26:55
I don't care about the text on screen. Then again I'm mostly listening to your stuff so why would I care about text
apparently the Antartic is quite the small place... Japanese Argentiniens and Norwegians all a walkign distance from another.... Hell at this pace the chinese will find them and than cook and eat the thing.
Reemus4 the land mass is small, but the ice shelf creating defacto land is large, so no.
Can the text really help?
+Gat the Man It could because ContentID is usually controlled by bots.
I BET YOU I CAN MAKE A BETTER THING STORY SEQUEL THEN THESE PIMPS
it's actually canon that childs was infected and mcready survived in the video game spin-off
This would have been better without the yelling.
Nah.
Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall - Good point! 🙂
First
