People don’t realise that lost media doesn’t have to be an old tv show or game, it can simply just be a home video. Thank you for touching onto this topic
I love watching videos from people like blameitonjeorge, Morbidforfun, and Nexpo all the time! Lost Media videos are very interesting, especially when you find an entire movie or series.
I almost cried watching this. The part about how lost media can be home videos hit really hard. I'm imaging footage of someone's birthday as a child, a moment that was once huge and important now just rotting in a basement for decades, probably never going to be seen again.
There is just something about lost media that's so odd to me, it almost makes me feel like a specific piece of media has slipped from our reality somehow and has entered an alternate reality. The same could go for unknown songs that we find for example. Brilliant video, you will surely blow up soon and you truly deserve it! Also, am I the only one that noticed the room in the thumbnail is the living room from The Amazing World Of Gumball? Nice touch!
Not just lost media but how many languages, cultures, stories and records of historical events have been lost. Approximately 109 billion people have lived. Imagine there was a record of every invention, idea, artwork, song or event from their existence.
15:40 Yo i was wondering whatever happened to that show or special since i was a kid! This was a great video, your video essays always got me intrigued
I'm watching through this channel, and I just had a kinda meta moment with this video. After I watched it, I went and clicked on the link in the description for the other RUclipsr in the video, Poi3707. And the link didn't work! For a moment I was thinking "Has the channel for someone who talked about lost media become lost media itself!?". With a quick search it turned out he just goes by poi now (definitely same one, saw some of the video thumbnails shown in this video), but it was quite an odd moment (will go check out their channel now). Thanks for the video.
Imagine we find a way to plug into our deep memories and project them somehow. We can finally more reliably detail lost media we’ve vaguely played back for years, only for those memories to be corrupted or lost by time. That would be the ultimate analog horror, the true lost media...
Find it kind of strange how I simply don't watch a show I used to enjoy as a kid, like Monster Rancher, or else, I guess it is because feels better as a memory or reliving it would ruin it, but it's not always like that, I just don't know if reconnecting is a good idea, even if I actually like old games and tv.
me afraid to touch video games because i feel its better as a memory than to try and reconnect with gaming. i have to focus on my surroundings and survival. so i guess i dont have time for such things.
just how long do you think the internet will be around? We tend to take it for granted, but would it be impossible to imagine that an innovation will eventually come around that makes the Internet obsolete
@@Mr.Plant_manthat's not what they're saying they meant imagine if another greater thing than the internet comes around and we all move to it and after a while just like TV and cable the internet ends up forgotten.
I'm looking for a video I watch a while ago. It was one of this "found footage " videos. A guy or woman is in a bright blue house on the left side of the room he found a hallway but if He go more to the center of the room he couldn't see a wall where this hallway might lead. There is only a pillar. (Could be a non euclidian room?) After a while of thinking about it he go through this hallway. And end in a similar looking room blue painted walls and roof with light spots . Fake windows , some seat's, tables, sometimes couches placed randomly. I hope you can help me to find the video it had also a quite good quality.
"Thanks for the valentine, Violet!" "I didn't send YOU a valentine, Charlie Brown!" "DON'T YOU KNOW SARCASM WHEN YOU HEAR IT?!" A Sparky fan for life. 😔🙃
Only lost media I can remember is an old nickelodeon show called "bunson is a beast" I had watched it on cable and ever since then I haven't seen it on cable again. Maybe it was my limited access but for me I haven't seen it in nearly a decade now
I never backed up my photos and videos from my old iPad. It had basically died and I forgot about most of what was on it before I traded it in for an iPhone. Had a bunch of videos of my childhood which are now just memories 😭. Wish I still had access to them.

My dad digitalized pretty much all VHS tapes he had. He gifted me an SSD with all my childhood recordings on one of my birthdays.
It's weird watching a channel before it blows up. Keep grinding man, loving the videos so far

Ooh! We love lost media. Oh, by the way, your videos remind me of Jacob Geller's longform content. I think that's why I like your channel.
And to answer the question posed: because entropy is the scariest thing in the universe.
I have a handful of films that I made as a kid, lost forever, and regret not preserving them that well... lost forever...
My brother still has those old Sonic videos on physical media! I don’t think they are as lost as we think.
4:07 I know that show, I got a comic book that shows a ad for the video game. Its called nightmare fred, I think
One of the Best RUclipsr ever
Loved it!

If the internet disappeared our civilization would crumble.
