I first heard this in Covert Affairs, season 3, I think (it was an amazing season, lots of nuance and depth). Amazing show & song.

Nice series. Spy with deep emotions
This track is originally quite hauntingly beautiful. And while I lose some of that Irish pain and hardship and soul that I hear in the original version, these girls evoke this solemn calm with a touch of subtle melancholy, that does not go overboard with emotion. Gorgeous cover.

It's a different tonality that suits the voices very well. It fascinates me how they find these things out, how a song can sound better when sung in a choir.

I can not listen to this song enough times, from the very first time I heard it. I heard it on the TV series "Cold Case" at the very end of the episode when the victim is always shown walking or fading away.
btw, I finally got a single of this version on itunes!! it's beautiful. Alert to all who want to see the Covert Affairs episode where this beautiful rendition is used: Season 3 of Covert Affairs is on FIOS channel 483 and the episode is (I think) episode 9 -- again, it's used brilliantly. Probably should watch a few episodes before to put in context.

I first heard this song on "Covert Affairs" in a heartwrenching scene, and I couldn't get it out of my mind. After spending an hour hunting for it, I ordered the CD. I love listening to it, but I love this video even more!

the video is the original video with scenes of the film the closer... the woman is no actress it's a singer, lisa hannigan, who did the female supporting vocals for damien rice till 2007. she's a amazing singer and released a solo-album. i hope. that helped

do some research to find the name of the song....Blower's Daughter. It is a truly lovely

This is the most beautiful of the covers (better than the original?) so hauntingly lyrical - I too associate it with season 3 of Covert Affairs - in a scene that was brilliantly acted, directed, edited, -the impact of which was heightened because of its juxtaposition with the violence on the set. I tried to buy a single of this, with no luck. Suggestions welcomed!
