Amen May Notre Dame shine for ever ⛪⛪⛪ They will try to erase us and turn us to ashes but eventually we will prevail thanks to the Power of the Faith in God and in our Savior, Jesus Christ 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

In 2008 I was in Rome attending the International Congress Pilgrimage of Consecrated Virgins. On the eve of the Feast of The Most Holy Trinity held in the church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva we sang this hymn by candlelight. It has been my most favourite hymn. Greetings from Dunedin, New Zealand. Carol Taurua OV.

Laudate Dominum means "louons le Seigneur!" in French, "O praise the Lord" in English and "Alabado sea el Señor" In Spanish. By the way This is the Psalm 117(116).
The choir is actually in the choir section of the cathedral. While there is an altar at the rear of the choir, it is not the main altar of the cathedral. The main altar is in the middle of the transept. In Notre Dame, this main altar is a very modern brass altar with images of the twelve apostles. This main altar is obscured in this video as the Mass celebrants are sitting in front of it.
Laudate Dominum, laudate Dominum, Omnes gentes, Alléluia !
The melody is XVIIth century ''Folies d'Espangole'' written by Jean Baptiste Lully, but probably inspired by a much older folk melody. Picked up and adapted by the Taize' community and performed here in the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris for the ordination of a RC priest.
@@waltertaljaard1488The melody 'La Folia' or 'Folias' goes back much farther for sure. Gaspar Sanz has a version for baroque guitar from 17th century but that itself was based on a Portuguese dance melody from even possibly as early as 13th.
You made me laugh -- but I completely agree! Who could possibly hate such beautiful music, even if just for the sake of the music even if you disagree with the text?!
@1527XZ : Composed by Jacques Berthier [ (27 June 1923 - 27 June 1994) was a French composer of liturgical music, best known for writing much of the music used at Taizé.]
What a triumph for the world it would be to see France, Eldest Daughter of the Church, brought back into the Fold.
I must say this is very beautiful. The worship of God in its highest
That's the Holy Eucharist

France captures ancient beauty --- faith in antiquity, in modernity. Bellissimo!

Hello Jim, will do. God bless and greetings from Dunedin, New Zealand.
Give thanks to God for lifting our souls with this wonderful celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Love to see the entire congregation singing! This is as it should be…not just the choir…no, we are all there to worship and praise the Lord!

Glory to the almighty, everlasting One.
With this kind of music, such resonance, and gothic lines,
one can really ascend to the infinity ands stay there fo eternity.
