Wow, people really don't like this guy. I honestly love all of his records. The sound thats he's executing is unlike any I've ever heard and I dig it. Also, can we please terminate the term "hipster' off of the face of the Earth? Such a meaningless word. If you disagree with this comment don't reply to it. Don't talk to me please, I'm really not trying to start a comment war over something as great as music.
Devonte Hynes, Lapalux, Arca, & Amon Tobin are all the Mozart's, Beethoven's of our generation. All have tested the boundaries of sonics. Their creativity is beyond words. They deserve way more appreciation than what has been given to them.
+Chase The Cheetah Down Prince is not the best singer songwriter of all time😂 hes a legend and a great musician but dont talk. bollocks theres many more musicians who habe provided more and broke gateways in Music
To be honest I didn't quite 'get' the visual translation of his neurological problems, but I applaud him for being public with the anxiety thing. Mental illness today seems like common knowledge and a widely accepted theme but it is still the most stigmatized, misunderstood condition in the world today.
The visual translation is as simple as It seems. I somehow do the same with my mental illness, putting It in images and sounds, melódic words, poems, expression, articulation and demonstrating It's rythms and exposing It's Monster véins for an extatic audience. This vídeo parcially explains aesthetics!
This save my life. Thank you Devonte. Since one year ago ive been facing the hardest phase in my life. The love of my life and inspiration in California and Im just traveling across south america and central america without be able to go to the states. Im a musician as well and what matters the most to me its just be able to wake up and see her, kiss her. I respect your work and I consider you one of my direct influencers among Bowie, Eno and this Love. Thank you Dev.
I think anxiety is part of the synesthesia phenomenon because of the fear of the emptiness, because we human beings are naturally programmed to make sense of everything by every way possible, so it is very interesting to be a synesthesia artist, we can always see things differently and it will help to help building the future. Thanks again Devonté Hynes.
Beautiful work, very personal. Admiration for the ability to find expression and healing in a way that translates others to understand such a condition that is difficult to articulate in words. Sat Nam
i watched it, and only people who don't know enough about electronic music and visual performance combined to electronic music can find it actually interesting
+Logan Wendt - I'm saying people try so hard to be different and it's obviously fake. Like Kanye, he's someone who says he has synethesia as well. He just wants to sound like some sort of amazing artist because he hears colors and taste sounds. Like stfu lol

Dev Hynes is our actual Prince. And it's enough.
***** be cool. Dev is young.
Apparently regurgitating awful 80s synth soul is "testing the boundaries of sonics"
We are in 2015. Things have changed...

I randomly came across this and I’m so glad I did. Kind of surprised this doesn’t have a lot of likes compared to views. Enjoyed every second of it!

THANK YOU DEVONTÉ HYNES. I FINALLY UNDERSTAND MY SYNESTHESIA CONDITION RELATED TO MY ANXIETY POST-CREATION
You are special

Oh really it's pretty cool
Does anyone know what gear he is using?
❤
If this guy designed a radiocam tablet with a feather stylus I WOULD BE SO DOWN
i'll be glad to forgive anything if Devonte Hynes was here
did he use fl studio ?
+Pascal Moran logic i think
I'm really confused by the slapping of and picking up and dropping of the drum pad dongle
I don't think anxiety, and synesthesia are related, but one could certainly have both.
i watched it, and only people who don't know enough about electronic music and visual performance combined to electronic music can find it actually interesting
is that really what synesthesia is like?
no, not in the slightest
Who knew synesthesia could be so debilitating.
!!!
is that all?
Is faking like you have synesthesia the new thing? Lol I know like 5 try hard musicians with it .____.
+W.C. J OHMG YOU KNOW 5??!! LIKE OUT OF the fucking 100,000(s) artist in the world. What point are you trying to make?
+W.C. J And what is try hard considered to you? This is his job.
+Logan Wendt - I'm saying people try so hard to be different and it's obviously fake. Like Kanye, he's someone who says he has synethesia as well. He just wants to sound like some sort of amazing artist because he hears colors and taste sounds. Like stfu lol
W.C. J Give me proof he doesn't have it
eh
come on....just make music and art no need to quote rust cohle as if it was your words you had an mri?
love the pretend playing of drum pads...
I was playing the melody over the top of the drums, hence the melody continuing once the drums have finished, any other questions?
Devonté Hynes hey man love your work you don't have to reply to every doubter way to talented for that
