And when great guitarist were a dime a dozen you became a bass player. Yeah I learned every Aerosmith song I could and Brad = what every "lead" guitarist needs. A sober, consistent ground for you to dance on and around. I didn't realize just how many lead parts were played by Brad until YT videos took off.
Brad is probably better than Perry. He went to Berkeley didn't he? Obviously not the showman Perry is, but he's a crucial part of the band. Some of their coolest songs are his. Nobody's Fault. His solo on Kingsv& Queens is perfect. Not so much this version, but the album version is perfect. It has a hopeless & depresed feeling (for lack of a better description) to it that matches the music perfectly.

That being said, if you'd seen Aerosmith in the summer of '77 here in Seattle when they were touring with Jeff Beck and Rick Derringer, you'd have said the exact opposite in regards to their performance... They looked cool and that's all. I know you mean well and ... I too am so happy that this band was able to pull it together without a death or serious injury to any member.

I'm 62, and Aerosmith is probably the best Rock band in my lifetime. Other good bands, but none had the music / lyrics/ overall bad boy image, full on Rock and Roll.
I remember listening to Spaced back in the 70s with head phones on and thinking this is so cool, had a kenwood rack system with turn table and the synthesizer in the song bouncing back and forth between head set was something i never heard before

Listen closely . They have an amazing backup vocalist singing all the high harmonies. Steven still sings the high falsetto he's known for . No disrespect though. It's a common practice for major touring bands to have ghost back up singers that nobody sees on stage .

The new guy is Buck Johnson. He's good. The last guy, Russ Irwin, was better. Look him up playing on Stop Messing Around with Joe Perry on vocals. They're a video of them playing FINE live. His vocals were amazing.
Brad Whitford has to be one of the most underrated axemen in the business. Is he up to Joe Perry standards?....nah. But his talent is there nonetheless.
