When I apply dried flowers I dip them in the monomer as soon as I start putting on tips, or laying down the clear base, by the time I'm ready to use them they are softer and easier to apply. If they are really stiff I take my brush and drip a drop of monomer on them one or two more times.
I could never wear most acrylic designs but I absolutely LOVE watching them being done. You say you're not a professional nail artist...why on earth not!!! Such natural talent. Incredible!
I'm left handed too and there is definitely a learning curve. Moving your hand around to accommodate your brush helps too. Beautiful set. The colors are awesome.
