- This is not the lost expensive drill, and it's only a cheap basic model.
But a lot of people use amd abuse these little drills daily, so they are hardy wee drill. I'll benit a little slow.
You can pick up the drill for less than 100 euro here, but you can also buy a motor for as little as 30 euro.
So if your gearbox is good, it's well worth replacing the motor.

My favorite "Doherty "was Ken (as a snooker fan) untill I stambled upon your videos .Lessons for beginners, lessons for experts...Well done Dean! Thanks a lot.
Blimey.... Postage speed is unbelievable, 1 minute for a motor! Well done Royal Mail....
Good fix I wasnt sure if they were worth a motor its nice to keep them running when its not too expensive
well presented Sir . skill and knowledge
Love the videos and the tips and tricks. Saw a battery adaptor in one recently. Don't suppose you know if one that will let me use Makita 18v batteries on a Black and Decker 18v grinder?
That looked like a NOS motor going into an older drill!
Unrelated to the video, but do you use #2 lithium grease in the majority of repairs involving gearboxes?
Dear Dean,
Love your channel.
Can I request a little additional item. When you replace a broken or burnt out part to you its just useless and throw it away. Could you chow us the broken b it and compare it to tghe new one, all pqart of our learning experience
Mines really weird it like sparks in the motor some times it smokes sometimes it dosnt what do I do?
Bravo
Do you no if you can get replacement parkside angle grinder motors in uk?
Parkside do not supply spare parts. But a lot of the tools are einhell machines. You may get a motor for one of them
Hello sir, where can I get that motor in South Africa?
Hello, This motors starts with 10 pounds on Ali up to 40 ..where to buy this replacement motor?
Thanks
I have the old dewalt drill where the battery pushes upwards and both the batteries are dead. What would u say I do buy the batteries or buy a newer version drill?
Buy a new tool with lithium batteries and also buy a dewalt adaptor so you can use the new batteries in the old tools
I take it that you can wire the motor either way with the two leads?
Nope, it will run the wrong way
Quick question for dewalt 54v won’t run. 54v tool charges no problems and runs the 18v tools perfectly but ain’t playing ball 54v tool.
If you have a Multimeter check the outcoming voltage on the battery itself, it is supposed to be 54v of course but if one of the cells is broken the voltage output sinks
I need to learn a skill.. I don't know anything ☹
Hi Dean. What is the model of the Casio watch you wear?
Those motors are a consumable, same as others brands, not sure why they don't make the electrical connection easier with flying leads to the switch.
Soldered connections are annoying but in fairness, they are more reliable.
@@deandohertygreaserabsolutely, but I'm just thinking of those that don't own a soldering iron, I'm all for repair rather than replace but don't needlessly impair us from fixing stuff.
@Mark5mith anyone who works on anything with electronic components should have a soldering iron, even my grandmother has a soldering iron she uses for crafts. Common household tool
When its a normal cheap DC motor. For other youll propably need to buy whole inside like with Milwaukee.
I saw a lot of sparks on the new motor while it was working, is it ok to have sparks at the back of motor sir ?
Fresh brushes not worn in yet.
You always make it look easy
Do you have a video on huskvarna wet/ dry electric concrete cutter brush replacement please
Yes, a new motor like new brushes will spark for a while when new. Plus this drill has a brake so that will also add to the sparks
Nice and quick, good work! Thanks for your time.
Dunno why anyone would fix one of these potatoes, go get a DCD800 or a 999 and be done
another video film with the phone , wtf is this
Seems very cheaply made to be honest. I know bosch also does cheap DC motor drills for the price of "pro grade"
