- We revisit mean/bullying comments we've received over the years. Some hilariously strange... and some downright hurtful.
It can be difficult for us to realize in the moment that the good/supportive comments often outweigh the bad, so we've included those at the end to help tie things together.
Bullying effects us all. And thought the cosplay community can be a wonderful/affirming place it can also be toxic.
if you are being bullied it's not because of your skill/personality/worth or anything like that. In fact it's not about you at all! You did nothing to deserve this awful treatment. What it's truly about is the tendency of people who are hurting/feeling inadequate/insecure to hurt others to make themselves feel better.
You are not alone! We stand with you as supporters and as victims of bullying ourselves. When times get tough you can hang with us because hell, we're all in the same boat :)

Fat, thin, tall, short, beatiful, ugly, he, she... All I see is labels given to people in order to summarise them. Of course haters are gonna hate. But those faces hide stories beyond a simple label. They have struggles that none of us, the viewers, can see or tell. I admire people like you, guys! Your videos always make me laugh. You are always smiley and positive despite what you might feel. So when you receive comments like 'You're fat', 'You're terrible', 'This is the worst thing I've seen in my life' imagine that the one who wrote that is comfortably sitting on their pc, possibly enjoying a beverage, ignoring the hard work and team effort it took to synthesize your videos. Criticism is welcome when it is accompanied by suggestions for improvement. To those who write stuff like this: how would you feel if the guys at the videos told you: 'You are a lazy brat sitting in front of your computer all day, eating, drinking and finding pleasure in hurtful comments about ones personal lives...'
The sexist bullying with cosplay always bothered me sooo much. It's usually guys who are insulted some girl doesn't fit their image of exactly what a girl should be, or a hell bent yaoi fan who's salty over a girl playing a male character. Everyone no matter who they are needs to know people don't wake up for them, and definitely shouldn't let a stranger's opinion be priority in THEIR life decisions. You guys keep doing you.

All of those hate comments sounded like they were written by elementary school kids still learning how to use proper grammar and spelling. Not even worth getting upset over.

I respect all of these cosplayers so much. You all handle your hate messages so well and I appreciate how you can make jokes about such hurtful things.

I've been here for the longest time, ever since the Naruto's Valentine's Day surprise. And also through the transition of TwinFools and even their AMV She's the competition. This entire channel and all of these people have helped me my entire life with cosplay anxiety and made me laugh. I can honestly say each and everyone of them has helped me through depression and being bullied by other people. It's amazing how far they've come and I have had unconditional love for this channel.

Okay can I just scream about Twinfools for a minute because HO LY S H I T TALK ABOUT AN INSPIRATION. I'm not great at talking so I can't really say everything, but seriously dude. Thanks so much for just being hilarious and giving me something to work towards. Im just starting out at cosplay and the whole gender shenanigan thing and I've seen where you are now and I want to work towards some variation of that, in both categories. Whoa, some of these really had me mouth gaping wide with how cruel people can be, but most of all this video was very funny :) If you guys ever decide to do another one I'd be happy to watch, it's really funny hearing the stupidity of the haters and your reactions to it.

hey twin just wanted to say that because of your transition videos, i found out i was trans. i always knew something was off but never knew quite what. when i started cosplaying guys, it just clicked and i liked that better than my everyday life. but it wasn't until your videos that i became more confident in myself and had that voice telling me "you can do this. there's a word for it, there's a community for it, there are other people who have done it and you can, too" so thanks :)

Fuck those haters dude, you guys are awesome. I remember watching you guys since middle school and oh my god you guys changed my life. You made me realize that no matter what . . . always be yourself, and since then i have been more happier and even more confident. You guys gave me so much confidence that i did a parappa the rapper cosplay skit for Halloween at my school. after the skit some people told me i was great and others thought i was stupid and laughed at me, and true it hurt but then i realized . . . I don't give a fuck anymore. I did my best and you know what . . . I have you to thank. I wish i could say it to you guys faces but this is all i can do for now. I wish i can cosplay even more, but when your living with your parents and acting silly, they kind of judge a little, that and we have a small apartment. So keep doing what you do you guys.
you guys make me happy when im down......i get bullied a lot so when i watch these videos it helps me be more like me and not someone else. i have gone into early depression so knowing that other people have gone through bullying lets me know its the other people that are mean and nothing is wrong with me
We guys have been the inspiration for us to cosplay and even make a cosplay channel :'D we still can't wait to meet u guys at a con someday !! We are also truly shoked how hurtful some comments were mend to be when u read them. But we are certain u guys know better. Thank u for your entertainment and passion throughout all these years! Aww, I remember meeting Twin and Nova at Naka-Kon 2015 for like a second for a picture. I was literally dying on the inside and shaking before and after they said they liked my Aoba cosplay. Literally the sweetest people ever! I wish I could have told them this in person, but I was too shy at that moment, so... You guys were my inspiration to get into cosplay because I remember the first ever cosplay video I saw was the Kingdom Hearts Cosplay in Disneyland and suddenly I was hooked. I can't believe it has been 7 years and I've been following you guys ever since. It's amazing to see how much everything has grown over the years. I love you guys and thanks for being such an amazing inspiration

It was hilarious because while I was watching this I was drinking a can of coke and when it came up to the 'your white shirt is too white' comment I started choking on my coke. Anyway this video was hilarious and seeing the progress Twin has made in his transition gives me hope that one day I can be able to convince my parents to help me along the journey of transitioning from female to male. However unlikely my dream may be, you guys are still amazing and I will continue to come and watch your videos when times get tough. Thank you.

Whenever I watch these videos I'm very happy that people are able to laugh off the comments. I know you can't always, but it's good you are able to shake some off! Like one of the comments, I've been watching you guys since I was 13/14 and I'm now 21. You were one of the first cosplay groups I ever found and you have made me laugh and inspired me so much for years!! Even if I don't always watch your videos, it makes me very happy to see that you still make them

I started watching all of their videos the year Twin started his transformation. So I never knew him as a girl (even though those were the first videos I saw). I knew nothing about the LGBT community until watching these videos. It opened up my world to what I know now. And not only that, but they inspired me to cosplay and make my own costumes. Now, I go to every con I can and cosplay to hearts content with the cosplays that I made. Sewing is my favorite thing to do now and it's all thanks to you guys! So I just want to say thank you so much for showing me something my parents hid from me my whole life, thank you for having the most amazing cosplays in the world, thank you for making me laugh and fall in love, and most importantly, thank you for always being you~ I'll never get tired of your videos, I love you!!

you guys are awesome you're the reason I even delved into cosplay as my hobby and probably the reason for my whole outlook on it (my outlook being "we're all just dorks in cosplay and its fantastic so let's all be chill") and loved by many!

I started following you since I was 12. I remember "Fox in the Box" inside jokes, I've witnessed everyone's big decisions in life and how you all keep having the most beautiful friendship I've ever known. Your cosplays were the bomb back there, but now they're fucking majestic. You inspire me in so many levels. I still do cosplay when I can and put all my effort. I'm about to turn 22 and my love for you keeps growing. Hope I can meet you all in the future, and I won't help but to cry and thank you for all the positive vibes you gave into my life. This is truly inspiring to many people out there who have been victim to bullying of any kind. I have had my share and still have these problems. I have grown up with you guys and Lucas has always felt like my weird older brother and I am so happy that we have had the chance to talk. The relationship that Courtney and Lucas has is like the one my best friend and I have. Everyone that has been with FDP over the years have been an inspiration in some way.
I hope to meet you all one day and give you a huge hug! I love you all so much like you are a family I have yet to meet!

honestly watching your videos, has inspired me to write my stories as a writer. a long it ago when I first cosplayed as Ino Yamanaka I was hurt by a member of my Anime club that hurt me and not the character since she was cosplaying older Hinata. it was only thanks to both of my friends that I was encouraged to cosplay her more. you guys are doing an awesome job and hope for you to keep it up. I still remember finding this channel back in 2011- I remember the very first thing I saw was several children dressed as Naruto characters sitting in a car singing the Twelve Days of Christmas at the top of their lungs. And I absolutely loved it. I remember adoring every Naruto video and just laughing. Your videos were such a joy and they made life easier to get through. I remember watching Twinfool's transition and his relationship with Nova and just dreaming of that close of a bond. But really all of you, from then until now, have been such huge inspirations. You inspired my first cosplay, made me feel okay as I was coming to terms with my sexuality- it's all just been such an enormous help. Thank you all for everything. I know people say hurtful things but there are so many more people who love you all so much. Thank you all very much for brightening up my life.

You guys are one of the first groups I saw on youtube cosplaying, and you inspired me to start cosplaying myself even though in my country, that wasn't really widely spread as a hobby. 7 years later, and I actually got some friends into it, we now have cosplay cons in Slovenia that didn't exist before, and our community is growing. If it wasn't for you guys, that probably wouldn't have happened. So fuck those hurtful comments, you are all amazing and beautiful and awesome. Love from a devoted fan :)

I like how you also show that you shouldn't worry about people when they comment. Even if it's hurtful but I like that you all have fun. The best thing to do while cosplaying is have fun while doing it and I believe you guys always will. Cause I know I do.
First I'd like to say you guys are awesome. Also in 2011 a friend of mine and I got alot of crap for a few pics we posted on DA and the comments hurt my friend to the point she disabled her account. She is really self conscious about her body. I'm going to show her this vid in hopes it'll make her feel better. It certainly did for me.
Videos like this keep me going and carrying on cosplaying cause it doesn't really matter who you are, you CAN cosplay whatever you want :3

Been watching before I even have RUclips since the year 2010. Good god you guys gave me inspirations. To cosplay is really hard and I hope one day I would be able to have guts to just go out and cosplay like you guys. It makes it really hard since within my country it's rare to see someone cosplay like down right rare so I'm still debating with myself whether or not to go for it or no but seeing you guys... I remember in my first year of cosplaying I really loved Fighting Dreamers. My friend went to a con that I was too sick to attend but when she came back she sent me a video where Twinfools and Nova had done a shout out to me and wished for me to get better. I may or may not have cried, but some three-four years later I am no longer sick and still loving cosplay and Fighting Dreamers! Thank you guys for being a ray of sunshine. ^.^
