I think magic can be any action, currently inaccessible and replicable Science and technology, that does something miraculous. Examples could include but are not limited to; Full mind control, shooting lightning seemingly from the hands, levitating rocks, bring the dead back to "life", plucking a heart from the chest and surviving, summoning a floating ball of fire into one's hand, creating a blade of energy or light, opening and closing tesseracts, instant healing, weather control, and telekinesis.
Cool video, but it would have been better if you had developed more on what magic you want from games or what made the Magicka system so good and why it felt more magical than other games. You kind of get lost listing games with magic without making an in-depth analysis of their systems.
The magicka game reminds me of how 9Parchments looks/plays. Except, in order to combine spells you need another player, and it's just a really simple beam combo (like fire+ice=steam).
There's a lot of Scifi that's basically Fantasy with a veneer of technology, they do thi a lot with post apocalyptic worlds and other planets. Rarely sometimes Magic and Science can coexist, but usually in some alternate timeline where the laws of nature are differe
Hello! Did you try Wizard Of Legend? The way you can combine spells make it feel like you are actually the wizard. Anyone can find their own playstyle. Honorable mention would be Dark Messiah of Might & Magic - the way the magic interacts with the world, like freezing floor makes it slippery is really adding to it. While not perfect, I think that aspect is something that makes a perfect magic system.
Forspoken has a rly good magic system. One that let's u feel powerful. And it let's u switch spells on the fly, so the momentum of the fight never slows down, for switching a single spell... Also it doesn't feel like a _shooter-but-with-magic_ , like immortals of aveum. But if *U* wanna *feel* like a mage... Skyrim VR, with the MageVR mod. Or Blade&Sorcery 1.0...
Forspoken definitely looks like the magic will be awesome, but because of the story not being quite my style I've never given the game an honest shot Also VR is a solid recommendation! Thanks
@@SirShelfu everyone has his own preferences :P but I've heared many times "Urgh, that girl is an arsehole!! So rude!!" and stuff like that... But it's pretty obvious why she is like that, in the beginning. Because she is a character with development ^^ yeah the slow start is also not good for the game... But trust me...and try the demo ;) U will get thrown directly into action, with a lot of skills unlocked, to truly _test_ the game :P
@@SirShelfu like when YOU feel the power of magic when your own voice activates a magic spell in the game, in that mod, magic feels earned. i mined those ores, i picked those flowers, i learned how to make those items and when i put the work in, to get the power of magic, it feels like i have done that, i did that magic...
What makes for a good magic system to you?

Fair point, will keep that in mind for the future. Thanks for the feedback!

Oh yeah they definitely look somewhat similar! Might be cool to check out then!
Bioshock has a cool Magic System. It's dressed up in Scifi dressing, but it's definitely magic.
Oh yeah 100%!! Honestly hadn't crossed my mind. It feels super satisfying for sure

@@SirShelfu what do u mean by "the story is not ur style"?
Because there r many missconceptions about the game 'xD
The characters and dialogue haha. Wasn't a huge fan of that when I saw gameplay. Otherwise it's great

Never played that mod! What makes the magic feel right to you?

Okay but actually, your game is gonna nail it. I've seen how that's gonna be 😎
for me skyrim is a great game
And that's totally fair! I'm personally not too big of a fan nowadays, but I remember loving it back when it originally came out😁
