Everyone should thank sphereii and xyth for everything they have done. So much work of other modders is a result of what they have done. Score and npcmod berth the 2 biggest contributions.
Thanks :) Yeah, I was actually going to post on Thursday at the latest, which is when he started. Quite a coincidence, I had no idea he was doing Winterween. Unfortunately my country is currently having 6 to 12 hours power cuts each day! So it is a struggle to get youtube stuff done, otherwise I would have had the video out earlier in the week. EDIT: Just a quick edit to my response, just to make sure that people watching GNS's playthrough don't get the wrong idea. GNS suggested he did remove some modlets from Winterween, and I think this removed some of the features in his playthrough. For example, the whispering voices that occur quite often, zombies converting into burnt zombies (when set alight), vultures converting into burning birds when killed, and there were no nightmare creatures. However, the missing Nightmare creatures may have been due to him not mining much underground during the night.
Yes, players have been asking about that for a while now. My current plan is actually Sorcery next, and I also want to do a remake or "overhaul" of my first ever video from two years ago, What is Darkness Falls. Rebirth will come in sometime during A21 quite likely. Sorry about the slow turnover on these :(
Hey Snowbee. I think you should do a review of the Starvation mod even though its old now and its last version was alpha 16. I think it's still worthy of it as it had sooooo many features. Maybe it would get people excited who haven't heard of it to try it out. Sad that no modders picked it up and updated it for the newer alphas. I remember it had: NPC Bandits around as well as the special mech bandits in the wasteland, and Bandit bases you could kill and loot Food spoilage that required powered fridge, powered oven? NPC Survivors that you would lure with a beacon or save them from bandits in certain POIs Give each NPC a job at a specific workstation, farmer, smith, cook etc and they had to eat food from a fridge Actual moving farmed animals that eat from troughs/hay bales, or chickens rabbits inside they coops/hutch Many different types of crops/trees that would die from disease/pests(rats) and required bug zappers or insecticide as well as fertilizer and water nearby An actual working Exo suit and gun that required it(can't remember what type), radiation suit as well Many different zombie/creature types Pets/Special pets that you trained and protected you Fishing and fishing NPC you had to find around somewhere to get special fishing missions Secret underground scientist base that gave you special missions to find special loot Other powered work type stations such as lathe that used(heat/gas)generators and traps that set zombies on fire, swinging axe trap etc other tools/weapons lightsaber and other I can't remember A sanity system where your player would start losing their mind and cry lol, you had to be nearby a radio, powered TV, toys etc to help with that. You would become sleepy and need to rest in your bed/bedroll They were working on a pet falcon as well Probably some other things I missed/forgot about.
That does look like a lot of features. I am most fascinated by the NPC jobs and bandits. What happened to it? I have certainly heard of people mentioning this, but I have never looked at it.
@@SnowBee I think Kage had a singleplayer playlist of it back then. One of the co creators passed away sadly, and then they fell off the radar. Life etc..Though i've read some comments on youtube and Discord that they want to bring it back when 7 Days to Die goes gold. The Bandits were a bit bugged as in you couldn't tell they were shooting at you as they didn't seem to point their weapon towards you. The NPC jobs you would basically tell the NPC to follow you, and as long as they were the specific type for that job you'd want to station them next to the forge for example required a male which would turn into a smith. You'd need to get him making gun parts and slowly his skill would upgrade for that part and would eventually make quality gun parts for example.
@@SnowBee I guess my other comment got deleted by youtube for posting the links. Anyways, the Starvation mod a16 page on 7 days to die community forums still exists. It also lists the discord and wiki page in there. Also one of the co creators Mortelentus has many youtube dev videos on it.
It actually isn't that difficult. The cold and monsters can be at the start, but overall they are not that difficult further into the game. I really crapped myself when I was hearing those whispering creatures and burnt zombies. :)
Yes, I know some players have mentioned it. I never had the problem in my two playthroughs, albeit, the first playthrough was only until level 20. However, both were using Trader Hugh's compound. My first playthrough I did build my horde base on a POI but didn't do much to it. Even my mining was done under Hugh's base. I didn't even bother with vehicles, except the bicycle. So overall, excavation was kept at a minimum. Likely why I never encountered any sink holes.
Yeah, it is difficult to know what they will add. However, I am sure they will convert it to A21 as the mods used in Winterween are used in other overhaul mods and as standalone mods.
I like the idea of the different creatures, there are very few vanilla zombies (it would really help if they could at least palette swap them) I think I would find it depressing to be in Winter all the time (I stopped playing Fallout because I got fed up with all the plants being dead, I don't want to escape to a world that is even more ruined than ours) it would be nice if it just replaced the snow biome on regular maps with this.
Yes, it is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. Some do enjoy the challenge, similar to The Long Dark playthrough, but it is not everyone who likes the depressing cold. I don't enjoy playing in the wasteland in a normal game or the old burnt biome. Even though the forest biome sucks for overall loot and lootstage, it still has that friendly atmosphere that allows me to chill and relax. So, I always enjoy playing in it and setup base there.
Yeah, I stumbled on it by accident and thought it would be a nice distraction before doing Sorcery and A21. I was quite surprised how good the mod was.
Hi snowbee i was wondering if you could answer me this. I've been playingn this mod (thanks to your video btw) but sometimes I got a debuff called 'cursedbyscreamer' and I don't even know how I got 'infected'. Do you know how can I get rid of? or how cna I avoid it... I tried to search on google but I didnt find an answer
Yeah, I specifically asked SphereII about it, as I could find NOTHING out there on it. There are at least two that was causing me a headache with trying to figure it out: 1. Sometimes a green house buff appears called "buffElementShelteredName". His reply was that this is part of a tooltip of the sheltered modlet by ocbMaurice. It just means you are considered sheltered so the elements will be less severe. It's a localization issue. 2. What do the "shakes" and "cursed by a screamer" curse/debuff do? His reply was that this is part of the "ween" part of the world. They are buffs you get for performing various tasks and will trigger mini event moments throughout the world. He said that they have never fully disclosed what they all do. So we are screwed on what that is :)
I know that pipermac added a tunnel and cave system to Age of Oblivion. It is quite similar and could be related. Maybe look around for something on nexus or the mods website.
Yeah, would love to. I have concentrated on guides as originally that was what I wanted to do. So, for now, I just do what I am used to. However, I understand your request... a lot have asked me in the past, even saying I should setup a secondary channel for that.

Yeah, I deliberately showed the spider at the end so players can see they are in the game. I realise some dislike spiders and won't play a mod with them in.
Haha, yeah, it is quite a chore. Still, this is one of the points of the mod, to show you what can be done within modding for 7 Days to die. Quite an impressive feature, but yeah, I get that it is annoying :)
@@azirus I will admit, of all the features that I may not like in the mod, the worst one for me is hands down losing seeds when harvesting. That utterly kills me. I hate it with a passion. Very different mod that you should take a look at. I have had some fun moments with it... and some run-for-my-life ones! :)
I love the Dr Who Weeping Angels. The one with David Tennant when they first appear, it definitely the best, imho.
Great job as usual. Awesome. I would love to see a "What is" for Rebirth. It is one of the best, if not the best overhaul mod for 7D2D. IMO

Actual moving farmed animals that eat from troughs/hay bales, or chickens rabbits inside they coops/hutch
Many different types of crops/trees that would die from disease/pests(rats) and required bug zappers or insecticide as well as fertilizer and water nearby
An actual working Exo suit and gun that required it(can't remember what type), radiation suit as well
Many different zombie/creature types
Pets/Special pets that you trained and protected you
Fishing and fishing NPC you had to find around somewhere to get special fishing missions
Secret underground scientist base that gave you special missions to find special loot
Other powered work type stations such as lathe that used(heat/gas)generators and traps that set zombies on fire, swinging axe trap etc
