- See if your rig can add these upgrades - bit.ly/38Dv4Ty
After adding new wheels and tires, and maybe your suspension, DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR STEERING COMPONENTS! We just brought on Apex Chassis and wanted to see how their products stacked up after hearing so much about them. Needed to say, they didn't disappoint and wanted to share why you should consider their products for your next upgrade.

I'm a little reluctant to beef up the tie rods too much. As the adage goes, "When something's going to break, something's going to break." Meaning that if a part of your rig's steering/front suspension is going to fail under load, it's going to be the weakest link. Tie rods are relatively cheap and easy to replace compared to other components in these systems. +1 for aluminum tie rods though.
I've always done mud and sand on my jeep rides but recently did a rock crawl event and realized I need that plus a few more skid plates.
7075 aluminum tie rods. 🙌🙌🙌
ball joints (and
Great video!
The factory front "upcountry" Skid Plate on an XJ protects the steering on my Jeep very well. Indeed, stronger tie-rods are a good investment on any jeep, but a REQUIRED option on any Ford Bronco taken on a 4x4 trail
I have the RPM steering 1-ton tie rod on my jkur. It’s been great. Had to winch it over a boulder a several occasions and has taken it like a champ. Haven’t had to use it yet but hear the customer service is great as well
I have had 2 previous Jeep with bad death wobble. Learning from that experience I have learned that once I had death wobble on my newer jk that all steering components must be up graded. I have learned that your just going to chase problems. I would say the first thing to upgrade is ball joints, then follow it up to the pitmin arm including tie rod, drag link with heavy duty components.
I hear that if you helichop cardboard josh in you can install him under the bumper and he can prevent most causes of the death wobble
Teraflex HD tie rod, drag link, track bar, and dynatrac ball joints
Unless ya got a landcruiser with the tie rod behind the diff haha
RPM's aluminum 1 ton hi-steer tie rod, drag link etc. Synergy chomo heavy duty ball joints.
I have a custom built steering set-up from my friend that owns All Terrain Innovations up here in NY. It's pretty damn beefy, but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet.
Is this available for 04 jeep grand cherokee. Or is there something similar on your website
I'm still looking for aluminum tierod for my jk that doesn't require extreme low offset wheels (not allowed here)

I heard these newer JK's versions have a bad reputation for the steering gearbox shaft that runs down to the pitman arm breaking how are you dealing with that
So any1 out there... got some play in the steering on my 2018 jlu rubi. Should i do this to fix. Or get the adjustable steering stablizer from terraflex?
Great video, thanks! I wonder if the track bar should also be replaced?
just get an aluminum one. It bends over things and bends back. you can jack the entire jeep up on an aluminum tie rod and it will spring right back to place.
