@JustInPlug Well as far as 18" hi-hats go, its the only way as far as I'm concerned. I first noticed Ronnie Vannucci doing it, then I noticed Steve Jordan doing it. Next step was to go to the biggest drum shop on the west coast and put literally every 18 in. cymbal together to find a good pairing, and voila perfect pair. Basically I can sum them up in one word in comparison to smaller hats, versatility.
@DrummerTilIDrop You did a really great job on this song and it was very helpful to have a good camera angle to see everything that was going on. Also what did you find to be the perfect match for your hi-hats?
Nice thing that you figured out what is played in the intro+verse with the hhat thing. One question: Why such a HUGE 18" hihat?? kind of strange if you ask me... God Bless
@DrummingforJesus2012 It doesn't matter about how simple the drums are. The main thing is that we praise God as we play the drums. Nice drumming btw :D although, to me, it did sound a bit different from the album, but yeh... CONTINUE TO PRAISE GOD WITH YOUR TALENT! :D
@resonatethemusic Yeah cause they can cut, wash, and crash... If you want the best pair do an 18 constantinople on the top and an 18 breakbeat ride on the bottom, best sounding hats I've ever heard unfortunately I couldn't afford the $600 cost when you combined the two cymbals... :(
Do you happen to know who does a good cover on drums of Sing Sing Sing by Chris Tomlin I found a good one a couple weeks ago now I can find it... his drum set wad kinda like yours
@nickexperthts Too basic, this is a good exercise to put you to sleep and just build motor memory. However, seeing that drumming is a very mental action you want the exercise to throw you off as much as possible... Below is what I warm up with ALL THE TIME! rlrr lrll rlrlrlrr lrlrll rlrlrr Then turn it around with a Left hand lead...
Saw your cover of " SIng, Sing, Sing" and you had a British or Austrailian-sounding accent in it, and you have a more american accent in this video....funny.
solid: no tempo fluctuations busy: playing fills and random stuff all through sections of the song therefore ruining the feel and the message the song is attempting to portray... You want to be the first one...
Wow, this is great! The notes are so clear especially the kick drum. Much appreciated. I can actually hear what you are playing.
You're videos are GREAT!! Please keep them coming... We amateur drummers are helped by videos like yours. Thanks again!! God bless.
Very good groove, touch & feel. Sounds great, keep it up and thanks for sharing your gift of drumming. May God bless the work of your hands & feet.
@DrummerTilIDrop loved how you explained that! haha a lot of praise bands are using hi hats that are 15inch +
This was helpful. I am doing this song Sunday and I have never played this song before. Thank you!
Awesome man. Your cover helped me a lot for playing this song for my church :) Thanks!
Great job. Very simplistic song that requires the drums to meld in rather then being the front line instrument.
