Ayu Gusfanz (Born Aisyah Eka Wahyu Utami; June 3, 2005) is a Progressive Rock, Indonesian guitarist. From a very young age, Ayu Gusfanz has displayed remarkable melodic and technical musical skills. She has covered the music of a variety of artists including Andy Timmons, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Additionally, Ayu has written numerous original instrumental guitar compositions. At the age of 12, Ayu recorded one of her original compositions with keyboardist Derek Sherinian(Dream Theater), bassist Andy West(Dixie Dregs), and drummer Van Romaine(The Steve Morse Band). At 14 years old Ayu co-wrote an original composition(Save My Forest) with Derek Sherinian. Derek has since produced several of Ayu's original compositions. Ayu has received critical acclaim and has developed an astute following for her RUclips music videos. Ayu Gusfanz was born in Bondowoso, a small town in East Java Indonesia. Ayu’s interest in playing guitar began at the age of six years old. She would continually ask her father, Agus Susilo Jabrix, a very accomplished guitarist, for lessons but he would refuse because of her physical size. At first, her father tried to teach her how to play the keyboards but Ayu did not like this and continued to ask her father for guitar lessons. At the age of 7, her father finally relented. Her first guitar was an Ibanez Jem copy. Even though this guitar was quite large for her physical stature she was able to develop extraordinary musical skills at an accelerated pace. At the age of eight, she was learning and playing musical compositions by guitar virtuosos Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and John Petrucci. At nine years old she recorded a video of herself playing the Andy Timmons tune, ‘Cry For You’. Andy Timmons was so impressed that he posted her video on his Facebook page. Ayu has appeared on numerous Indonesian television shows including Hitam Putih, Sapa Indonesia, Ini_Talkshow, Little VIP, Morning Show, and Kecil Kecil Hebat. She continues to cover the music that she likes as well as write and record original compositions. she has released 2 full albums "Just Try and Pray, and Save My Forest" both are phenomenal, and also has some hidden gems never released on youtube she is on Spotify and many other music platforms. I have been supporting this amazing young lady since she was 12 years old. In June of this year, she will be 18 years old and she is only getting so much better. Ayu reminds me so much of Miyako of Lovebites both are classically trained on the piano and are prolific composers. Ayu has always been my number one guitarist of today but of course, Miyako and Ayu share the number one spot and Haruka (aka Hal-Ca) of Asterism and Midori of Lovebites hold the number 2 spot. Over the years I have done extensive research on all of these guitarists and come to find out that all of them have been self-taught. I personally never liked Steve Via and felt he was to gimmicky and not a real master like many other guitarists, Ayu, on the other hand, is already a master check out her original composition of "Global Warming" ruclips.net/video/ij90ySeSp18/видео.html
Wowzerz. Thanks soooooooo soooo much for all this information. I really appreciate this so much. My friend turned me on to Alip ba ta and I have done a few reactions of his. I see the Indonesian culture really live their musicians. So I wanted to explore other guitarists and came across Ayu. Unbelievable. All these extremely talented artists in 🇮🇩
@@area67music85 oh there are many others my friend I have heard of Alip but there other acoustic guitarists that I love from South Korea that I feel are much better but to each their own taste right
There is at least one video of her playing with her father and I thought she blew him away. But just imagine you're a pro at what you do and your young child picks it up and does it better than you ever dreamed you could yourself at 9 years old.
