I don't know why I feel like tears come into my eyes, each time I hear this piece
is it some sort of magic ?

This is one of the greatest most moving parts of the Bible. Job spoke these beautiful words. Job, the loveliest, most wonderful people in the old testament.

Ali, it is the voice of God speaking of His overwhelming love for you. This is why Jesus came to the earth, that we be freed from the dominion of the devil, and live the life that God created us to live.

In here you actually get to see God face to face. Not magic. Worms cannot destroy what God created. Let the tears of joy flow. God and is eternal.

No, you heard Kenneth Clark utter the exact words in his Civilisation series more than fifty years ago. Own up!

It's the healing power of the Holy Spirit of God bringing the saving truth to lost souls by way of the gift of Heavenly music.
It so far outshines what passes for music in our times it's stunning by comparison. It's like our ears are being tuned to a range beyond normal sound and it makes our hearts awaken a little bit to the beauty awaiting those who will learn to love the word of God and follow Him to eternal life through Christ Jesus our true Redeemer! Amen!
I pray everyone will accept the invitation.

This was a blessing to hear. A clear, sweet and full voice, wonderful singing. The creative ornamentation, the inventive change to a scale pattern in the return of A section, super. Instead of becoming "long" it was a joy to hear.

Frank Serpico. I am coming into this rather late, but on reading your remark to Ali, on his stating that he was a Muslim, but was so smitten by this exerpt from the Messiah., I have to take up the cudgels( kindly). I think that what Ali was implying was, that across the religious divide, Great, creations, of such spiritual depth as this, transcend cultures and prejudices . May they continue to do so & heal & bridge our fractured world

The first verse is from Job 19. The second verse is from First Corinthians 15.

She took liberties when she returned to the A section of the piece. It's common to have the A section extremely ornamented, not to just sing it over the way you did the first time. That's how baroque style is sung.

I can't imagine that this request will gain much traction unless it is echoed by thousands of other believers but I could wish that people who post these kinds of videos would more often list the Bible passages from which the lyrics are taken.

    @dugortboss
    Dear Bryan Ferry Fan,
Kathleen Ferrier, Bryan's Sister-in-law, did not sing the song you ascribe to her.
Her repertoire did not, of course, include such a song, as it is outside her range.
    .
You may have made a slight mistake, just like Brian and Kathleen, in thinking that an aria Handel wrote to sing, soon after this ditty, has the same name; it dosen't.
    .
    Cheers.
    from,
    del-boy.

This was lovely, and I'm so glad you put the music with it.. but I have to say, she took a lot of liberties. I know that's ok to do, as a soloist, but are those typical liberties to take? I've only heard this sung straight from the music.

it's considered common practice to add ornamentation, hence the extra notes like trills and cadenzas

    • @brookeggleston9314
      @brookeggleston9314 5 лет назад +3

@@ternitamas Yes; as you pointed out, Handel expected his singers to add ornamentation, especially in the repeat of the A section of his ABA Aria's. The better the ornamentation, the better Handel's paycheck!!

    Job 19:25 - 26
    25. For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
    26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
1 Corinthians 15
    20. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
To God Alone Be All The Glory. Hallelujah. Amen.

    Dear YBPhotoeditor06:
I agree that Job is a difficult read. However, in the midst of intense trial, Job maintained a tenacious hope. As sung here in Handel's Messiah (Job 16:19-21; 19:25-27) Job announces: "My Advocate is on high...My intercessor is my friend...I know that my Kinsman-Redeemer lives, and that he will stand upon the earth". Job's message is prophetic in that redemption comes through a Human-Divine Kinsman-Redeemer --in one word Yeshua / Jesus (Salvation)! May all trust him!
