10:45 I sometimes question the need for a washbasin in a small floorpan, but the utility is undeniable in my unit, which does not have a shower. So I wash up using the "two pan method". Two washcloths (one in each basin), one basin has soapy water for washing, one basin has clear water for rinsing. Not as comfy as a shower, but surprisingly effective. I remember in the 1980s, Airstream trailers cost about $1,000/foot. When I was a kid my dad bought a 17-year-old Airstream trailer for $5K, and we did a lot of traveling with that. So I have a certain fondness for them, but yes, inflation has pushed them into unaffordable territory for me as well.

I'm the same way about RV bath sinks.. especially in really small ones or vans. the prices on them now are frightening.

I was hoping that you tour the Leisure Travel Van. Those are my favorite but the new ones are almost $200k or more depending on how you outfit it. I think you are right, get a used one a couple of years older and let someone else take the equity hit on it after they discover they don't use it enough. Maybe wait until this fall and they'll be a flood of them on the used market. Spring fever is a bad time to purchase a new or used one. Do it in the off season.

It wasn't a LTV it was actually an Airstream Atlas. Owning a LTV myself I'm always partial to their products but unfortunately their name is misleading now because they don't make vans anymore.. they make Class C's. So that along with the 2 year wait list for new ones and the prices being insane.. we will be sticking with our older vans for at least another season.

I bought a 2015 airstream 25rb international last year. It was cleaner than the new ones, which were priced at $121k. The 15 originally was around $90k. We paid $60k. Still insane but it's worth $65k still a year later. They are averaging 40-50 years before restoration. I do regret buying it in some ways but it's amazing in other ways. The panoramic windows are amazing coming from a camper I couldn't see out the terrible windows. I prefer a trailer so I can explore from the truck and leave all my junk at camp. I don't want another engine, drivetrain to keep up on.

I get that they have a higher build quality.. My back account just doesn't make it a viable option. I think with what any type of RV goes for now (new and used) it's possible to find some land on a lake at the same prices... long sigh... I get your point on having a truck, seems whichever way people go they end up towing something, either a trailer or a toad.

Thanks for the video. I agree the Airstreams are overpriced but if you get a chance you need to tour the Airstream Plant in Jackson Center, OH. Its a great tour and shows you how they are built.

Nice variety at that place, I like nucamps tab 320. Air streams are nice too but you would have to sell your house to afford one and you would have to live in it full time. You definitely pay for the rv lifestyle now days.😮
