    I guess it's true that sleeping on your street clothes might not be for everyone, but I really admire how you are willing to find unexpected/nontraditional solutions to make your routines work, and I think that's the whole point of the video! Don't be afraid to try what works for you/your family

    I love how you're always training the kids to be more independent instead of doing every little task for them. It makes life easier for you, but also teaches them valuable lessons. One of the main goals of parenting is to develop self-reliant adult humans! I hear of young adults going off to college without ever having done something as simple as laundry and I wonder what the heck those parents were doing with these kids for their first 18 years.

      Veronica Jackson I just went and checked it out. It was super cute but I couldn’t find them for the older three, Hutch, Priya and Beck. Also I feel like hearing her talk about all the stuff that goes into naming a kid, like the spelling, how it goes with the other kids names and initials, etc, would be really helpful and interesting. I’d also love to hear how Jordan got her name and Bubba got his, if they know the stories.

    • @veronicajackson4879
      @veronicajackson4879 5 лет назад +2

      C St. the older 3 are on the front page, well sort of. Go to the site, choose the “about tab” at the very top. This will take you to her story from the beginning. Scroll down, keep scrolling until you see Bubba’s pic. Right under that is writing, the last “paragraph” is about Hutch. Then scroll down for the next 2 kids. 😊

    1. "This pregnancy is kicking my trash..." - I'm stealing that for everything 👍🏾
    2. When my kids were little they had a 7:30 bedtime too. They need the sleep and parents got stuff to do!
    3. I'd like a do-over on showering. We all need a huge walk in shower with a handheld shower head so we car-wash the kids!
    4. I was a huge fan of having the kids sleep in their clothes when we would the next morning for vaca, but never tried it for school. Passing this one on to my friends who still have school aged kiddos 👍🏾
    5. Sure hope the sickness passes with this pregnancy. Just know that you look really pretty without makeup 😊 Your skincare routine is on point! 😉

    My kids totally sleep in their school clothes too!!! I use your method for vacay suitcases (putting entire outfits in ziploc bags) for everyday! Each kid has a drawer of pre put together outfits. It has made a HUGE difference in our routine!! Even if they dress in the morning, everything is all together. I can usually put together 1 to 2 weeks of outfits on laundry day. Their outfits MATCH! Even the socks match!!! Socks used to be a HUGE pain point! My daughter often still picks out her outfits, but there are backups if she is being too slow. We used to get in a big fight over what she was going to wear! Now, she gets to choose, but if she needs my help last minute, Mommy's choices are already chosen!!! So meltdowns are lessened. And I'm happier in the morning, so I convey that positive feeling to them, & they leave smiling most mornings. Thank you, Jordan!!!

    • @aishascott_
      @aishascott_ 5 лет назад +2

      Jenny Short Sleeping in uniform or clothes is new to me! If it works for you then that’s amazing but I would suspect you would smell like “sleep” if you wore your uniform to bed. Even wearing pjs to bed there’s drool and sweat and being under covers would make you smell weird. I personally can smell it on people if they don’t bathe in the morning much says wearing your clothes to bed!

    • @jennyshort1797
      @jennyshort1797 5 лет назад +2

      @@aishascott_ Wow, that must be terrible for you! Lol. Luckily my sense of smell is not that keen!!! You might have missed in Jordan's video, that her older kids do the same. Everyone's level of what's acceptable or not is different, but your point is noted. I can't relate to having such a strong sense of smell. It's kind of like not paying attention to the top of the refrigerator, because you aren't tall enough to see it. You forget some people are! Also, with your sense of smell being so strong, I would advise you not to go around sniffing little kids in general, as the smells might not be so pleasant a good percentage of the time! Lol. Thank you!

    • @aishascott_
      @aishascott_ 5 лет назад +2

      Jenny Short it’s definitely a western world thing. Me being from a Caribbean background it wouldn’t be acceptable at all! I can see though how it would be useful if you have a lot of kids.

    I love how your kids are learning to do things for themselves. I feel like so many parents just do everything for their kids, and it is not setting them up for success. My 2.5 year old sets and helps clear the table, helps let the dogs out, helps put laundry away. Sometimes it would be easier and quicker to just do it myself but I want him to grow into a functional adult one day!

      I have 5 kids 4 are still at home and it’s never easy or perfect. I had to accept that I needed to make the time for what I wanted to be successful at. And make those goals into little action steps to get to my goals. Need clothes washed each day? I set a reminder with Siri. She tells me in the morning before I’m out of my bedroom getting distracted by life as distractions usually happen. Need to start writing things for that blog I want to start? I set a timer and put pen to paper. Need supper ready by 5:30? Use Yummly’s calendar feature to remind you when to start prepping to have it ready by 5:30. It’s all about finding a routine that works for you.. and still lets you have that self care time to chill and be happy with yourself. God bless💕

    Never take for granted having your hubby help with the nighttime routine. My hubby works long days and gets up super early to provide for our family so he’s asleep when the kids go to bed. I do bedtime solo every weeknight. With four kids 10 months to 11 years it’s not always easy. I thank the Lord every day that He helps me through it.

I have given my kids the option to have pjs if they want both they just see it as an extra thing to do. Their friends that stay love it and think it's a treat to sleep in clothes. It really took the stress of trying to get out the door when they were young and made mornings happier for everyone.

    This is amazing how Jordan's kids do their own things (playing, hanging our with each other, etc.) pretty much by themselves. My kids go like "Mama, look what I can!", " Mama, go play with us" all the time...
    And I only have 2 kids!

    Love it. My children were color coded too! Towels, toothbrush, cup (little bathroom rinse plastic cups, 8 oz cups for dinner), file folder envelope with their papers. Green, blue, pink or purple, red or yellow. Lol. It worked! Mine didn't sleep in their clothes due to an inherited bedwetting issue, which we made a non-issue. But they had to build their couch person, shoes pointing out from the bottom pants draped on the seat cushion, shirt draped on the back cushion, undies on the pants, socks tucked into the right shoe, knit hats or bandanas or hair ties in the left, jackets or sweaters over the shirt. A whole person of clothes. We all dressed in the living room in two shifts, boys first as they were going to eat more and take longer at breakfast, girls next. We did this as there was only one source id heat, in the living room. Too cold to dress in the bedrooms where you could see your breath!!! Crazy, sometimes now they are in their 30s, I miss it!!!

    Very inspirational. Those of us with many kids/pregnancies need to see that life is not perfect, but that’s no reason to lay down and never get up again (which is what all pregnancies do to me!!).

    Jordan, I really don't know what to say, lol. I mean... you are just amazing! I wish my mom would have had this type of help when she was alive. She passed when I was really young and she had no help. I tried to help as much as I could because my brother is disabled but my father was no help at all.
    He made life difficult for all of us. I love how you and your husband and kids stick together and help each other. You have kids by the same man, lol. I know people with kids and they wish they never had them or they have to be both mom and dad. Your husband is so involved. I know that if my mom had helped and wasn't abused she would be here. But she's resting now.
    I don't know if I'll have a family one day, men are just not the same the way they used to be back in the days, lol They don't want to get ,married let alone be involved with child rearing. I'm in my 30s but if its Gods plan it will happen. I'm so glad you don't have to do this alone and you found a good one. Can we clone him, LOL!!! More men need to be like this even if it is one child. Watching your videos give me hope!
    God bless you and your beautiful family!

      No. I wouldn't do this. I just get up and hour or 2 before mine and get my self ready. And lay their clothes out and pack lunches the night before. Good thing is they get breakfast at school so it saves a little time and mess.

    How to appropriately give bigger kiddos increased responsibility- when is it too much and when too little?
    Staying connected to your spouse- physically emotionally- when you are sick.... exhausted etc. I’m sure you know what I’m taking about 😬.
