  • In this video I'll be providing a quick overview of the setup and operation of a rotary table for fiber laser engravers. This video will specifically focus on a Cloudray D300 F rotary table, however the general operation should be the same for any rotary device. At the time of releasing this video LightBurn Galvo does not yet support rotary tables, so the operation tutorial will be done in EzCad 2.

Did you ever finalize your set up for sale? The table insert? Also, do you have a source for your LED light setup?

Hi there. Great job on the video. I am currently in the market for a fiber laser and have been looking at Cloudray. Based on your experience would you recommend? Would you mind sharing the configuration you bought and would you have any tips/suggestions for someone about to buy a fiber? Really appreciate your time and input. Thanks.

Thanks John! My experience with my Cloudray fiber laser has been terrific. I do believe that Cloudray is one of the best Chinese manufacturers for fiber lasers, and also has some of the best bang for your buck. For a first time buyer I would recommend either a 30W or 50W machine. Both can do the same things, but a 50W speeds up engraving considerably if you’ll be doing deep engraving work. For a first time buyer I would also generally recommend sticking with a Q-Switched machine over a MOPA machine. The only real difference is that MOPA opens up more possibilities to do colored engraving on stainless steel, but it comes at a considerable price increase. As for laser software, I’d strongly recommend purchasing LightBurn for Galvo, instead of using EzCad. It’s a fantastic software that I can’t recommend enough. Best of luck to you!

By chance, do you offer that table insert for sale? The one you made to hold the 6 cards?

I do not at this time. Maybe once I refine the design more I would consider selling them.

If you don't mind keeping me in mind. I would love to be able to get one. It looks like it works great on that table

SO..... Cloudray told me the stepper driver inside my machine wouldn't properly run my rotary table. My machine came with a driver, because I had a rotary already setup. Do you know the proper way to install the recommended DM860S?

Now what happens if you put two wires together by mistake and plug that into your machine the street lights in your neighborhood would be out

The one thing that he should be guaranteeing after seeing him put those wires together and hearing him talk about opening your machine to do all this excess work he's reassuring that you void your warranty possibly short out your machine yeah I don't think so

If you are not comfortable doing basic electrical work then I would not recommend wiring the rotary table yourself. That being said, there is a very low risk of causing any damage to the laser due to miswiring.
