Silver on the Sage (1939)

Getting involved in a frontier clash between cattlemen and rustlers when a herd belonging to the Bar 20 is rustled, "Hopalong" Cassidy plays a dangerous game. Posing as an outlaw himself, he wins the confidence of the gang through his prowess gambling at the card-tables and his recklessness on the range. To maintain his cover, he even allows "Lucky" Jenkins to be taken to jail, charged with a murder the rustlers had committed. Cassidy's "game" brings results when he realizes that the gambling-hall owner and the foreman of a ranch are identical twins.

Love how at 55:25 Hoppy says "come on boys" and everyone changes direction and follows him. Now that is a leader!
Also love the last gunfight where the cactus protects him so well from the bad guys. Perhaps all bulletproof vests should be made from it!

I have heard about Hopalong Cassidy but never seen any of his movies or his half hour shows, wow just love them all iam hooked. Mr. Boyd has done more for westerns than the Duke.

My papa always had $0.10 for us on Saturdays.
Grama made us sandwiches and gave us penny candy to sneak in in our pockets.
Papa snuk us the extra nickel.
Grama would have flipped her wig.
And when he had no $. She packed a picnic lunch and we rode in the back of the pickup to go shoppn at the dump.
An all day event.
Back then we had burn a barrel. Even flattened cans got burned so the rats and ants wouldn't come
