When we eventually get pumped by Leeds and sack our 12th manager in 12 years. I think it's about time you did a video on Cardiff. Honestly, it's mental.
Seeing Liam Rosenior start pretty decently at Strasbourg must be the most painful thing ever for Hull City fans Crazy how Hull City are making BlueCo look intelligent
Honestly when he was sacked, I assumed he'd done an interview where he said he likes punching children for fun or something along those lines. I thought there was no way he'd been sacked for his performances, right?
As a Hull fan, I have a lot of love for Liam, but he just isn't that good of a manager. We were better than a 7th place finish with the squad we had he just had incredibly awful tactics.
As a City fan, the thing that makes me most upset is watching Walter set us up without a midfield. I think the loss of Seri stings nearly as badly as the loss of Liam.
What is it with teams sacking managers with them high up the table for a manager with a more attractive style? Can't think of a situation where it worked out.
More then likely its incompetent club leadership with no vision whatsoever of the clubs situation nor the a future plan. The "Agressive and offensive-minded playstyle" is a pretty way of saying "I dont like how you play even tho I dont understand football"; because its not like Rasenior was playing a Catenaccio at Hull
Rosenior was sacked due to our owner being bored during home matches as the style of play was boring and we were failry poor at home, as you can see from this video, that decision has worked so well for us 😉
I've literally only ever seen it happen with Birmingham and Hull. In most cases unattractive football can be tolerated or even appreciated if the results are good. The managers get sacked when the results can't defend them anymore. With how high the stakes are in top level football sacking a successful manager over his boring style is arrogant and careless, just asking for disaster
@@zosiazaremba7479 Definetely agree. My local football team played a very defensive style and had their most successful season ever. How my team plays is irrelevant as long as the results are there.
Can you do a weekly Hull update as a RUclips short? I couldn’t really care less about Hull normally but for some reason I can’t get enough of these Hull videos! Love the content
When Colombian youngster Gustavo Puerta secured a loan deal Hull City from Leverkusen, I, as a Colombian myself, was pretty excited. Although Leverkusen is an exciting team where he can develop, he had no game time last season, for obvious reasons. With Hull having respectable last season, I thought this could be it for him. Then, i learned about the circus that's happening there
This is by far the best video of yours I've EVER seen. I couldn't agree with you more. I am worried about our club and very disheartened and dejected with what's happened since May. I can't believe it. I look forward to your next video.
Alfie I would love to hear about all of the things regarding Hull that you mentioned at the end of your video for which you didn’t have time for in this video! Such comprehensive in depth videos/ series are soo rare but really fascinating and you do such a great job!
Tyler Morton was on the bench for Liverpool at the San Siro in the Champions League last night, and Fabio Carvalho was scoring 1 and assisting 2 for Brentford in the League Cup. When you lose that calibre of player from a championship squad, you're going to notice it.
I would say he is the best owner of a football club in England in the last 30 years, period. The stability and investment as a proper fan is second to none. If I ever hear Boro fans starting to chant Gibson Out, I will think of the Charlton fans who wanted Alan Curbishly sacked, and look what happened to them.
Hull City isn't my favorite club, but can you please do the same thing for Everton in the next video? Should have deserved another update. They were a complete mess right now. 4 losses after 4 first games, the last 2 were more painful as they surrendered a 2-0 lead, and more recently, the disappointing exit in the EFL Cup against Southampton on penalties. Looks like an era is over for the Merseyside Blue in top-flight football.
As a german I can promise you that you will love Walter in a few months. Everybody hated him in germany for beeing over the top and completely crazy but they did love him at his club in hamburg. And thats not an easy club/city. He's the kind of guy that lives for the team he is coaching. Yes he is and will be stubborn in terms of his playing style but you will see improvements. Also: Mehlem is (if he stays fit) a bundesliga level player. I would have loved him at my club Bochum but even after 3 years of being back in the bundesliga we still have zero money :(
And everyone at Stuttgart thinks he is a clown for ignoring Wataru Endo, who would become club captain at Stuttgart later on. It’s fair to say that his sacking after just half a season was absolutely justified as he probably would have prevented Stuttgart from being promoted
@@boschvateras a Karlsruher I can assure you we feel the same. Walter is a clown that for some reason doesn't like us anymore despite nothing between the club and him ever happened and we actively promoted his career as a youth coach prior to him leaving.
As an HSV fan, I'm glad he's gone. He sticks to his system of play, is completely inflexible and talks up his football. If he lost a match, he always blamed the players and talked about individual mistakes. Yes - the football was attractive to watch under Walter, but it didn't lead to success. A good offence brings goals, a good defence brings the championship. He ignores that. The fans from Stuttgart and Kiel were also happy when he left the club. Both teams are now playing in the 1st division. HSV is now recovering from Walter's style of play, has a better defence and can finally play normal corners and score standard goals again. I hope that HSV will finally be promoted to the 1st division again.
Acun Ilicali bought my club Shelbourne in Ireland. He tried to sack our manager, Damien Duff at the end of last season and was immediately bought out as owner. He lasted a few months in control of the club. We're now top of the league.
I lived in Hamburg (Hull lad, though) for a while and therefore followed HSV. Every year (as you probably know) was an absolute disasterclass with catastrophic failures for several final days and end seasons in the 2. Bundesliga. Walter was the coach for many of those. So this always worried me that we were replacing Rosenior for him. I don't think Walter is a bad option, but I don't think he was the answer, personally. I hope it's just a case of transition and something will click. But generally, Ilicali's transfer business has been wild. The turnover has been crazy during each window, and so many have been misses. He's done great things for the club, but his approach worries me... UTT
I’m so glad Rosenior is doing well at Strasbourg, a much better club than Hull City (no offence). Hopefully he can make a push for Europe and make the Hull City board look like absolute numpties
Long shot I know can you do a What on Earth is going on video at Irish club Dundalk. Recently on the brink of liquidation and near certain to go into administration now during the 2010s they dominated Irish football and are the second most successful club in Ireland.
great idea, as a Welsh prem fan I always look at the league of Ireland and think that Welsh football should be like that. good luck to shamrock in Europe this season
Well, as someone who follows Hamburger SV quite closely, i could have exactly told you what Walterball means. It just takes a loong time of suffering until you get results and truly beautiful football. (And then HSV sacked him when it actually started working. Somewhat.)
i still dont understand why Championship clubs not in the top spot but in the "midst" of a playoff spot suddenly spend money in January when it's more likely they'll waste money by not being promoted and are probably closes to a points deduction than a premier league spot

I also think while the sacking was harsh i can speculate and understand a resoning, Last season come january hull were just inside the play offs, and hull had spent major money in the last couple of summers so must have been pushing the boundries of PSR, in january the chairman went to rosienior, rosienior said i need a better attacking force to get to the prem. The chairman said weve over spent this seasons budget already but ok, ill dip into next years, get into the play offs and that will recoup most of it and if it gets us to the prem then were laughing. Hey Alfie not sure if you look at leagues as low as national league but looking at York city's turnaround this season might be something to look at. If the performances stay as they are through the season
Meanwhile my team Oxford have had a great start to the season, sitting in 7th, three wins & scored in every league game. Yes we signed a lot of players but looks like the recruitment so far has paid off. Here’s to the next 41 games, plenty of time to turn things around or keep momentum
As an Everton fan, I'd wish we would handle quicker with Dyche. Respected the man at Burnley and what he did last season, but we look terryfing in this season.
Hull have no experienced head of recruitment? This would explain the signing of Chris Bedia. Union Berlin after being smart in the transfer market for years made some horrendous signings last season. Bedia was up there with the worst of them.
For readers unaware last Friday we were 1 nil down at Stoke at half-time. After bringing on Millar and Slater we scored three goals in 16 minutes and ended up winning 3-1 and shooting up the table to 13th. Next week we play Cardiff, who are currently bottom of the table, at home on our 120th anniversary. Onwards and upwards!!
Although this is is my absolute favourite football channel on RUclips bar none, and I'm sure if I met Alfie in real life I would feel completely and utterly starstruck... ...as a Newcastle fan, I have to ask, what would Alfie do if the Saudis were to buy his beloved Hull City? I certainly wasn't sticking a tea towel to my head when we were taken over, it was more just a relief that Ashley had gone... which I feel very few external fans realise just how bad, negligent and sly he really was as an owner. Does that make him worse as a human being than the Saudis? Of course not. But it's very hard to walk away from your club, especially as there is a chance of some positivity after so many years of neglect and under performance. We watch our team to feel part of a community, feel the rush and adrenaline of a win and to be on a journey, more often than not without a say on who runs the club. I'm embarrassed at the Saudi dress up parade than Newcastle fans did, but I would be interested to know how many fans would actively boycott and leave their club if they were in similar plight as we were under Ashley and were offered a chance of avoiding that outcome under a sinister regime. Would Alfie ditch Hull City and support Humberside Juniors in the 11th north division? Perhaps he would; and he'd be a more moral man than me. I just notice this dig against Newcastle and sometimes their supporters popping up more and more regularly. Doesn't stop me loving the channel though! Keep up the good work!
ALFIE YOU BROUGHT US ON A JOURNEY TO HULL SO MANY TIMES I SWEAR TO GOD NEXT YEAR WE'LL BE MAKING A TRIP TO AN ACTUAL HULL OF A CRUISE SHIP. Also poor Alfie suffering slow descent to insanity looking at how Hull City has always been (mis)managed.
You’re spot on with everything you’re saying, I don’t trust Acun as far as I can throw him but say one bad thing about the owner and everyone’s on your back.
Walterball in the English second league. You love to see it. No worries, he'll bounce back and you'll miss relegation by inches just as HSV did last 6 years.
Really disillusioned after the Rosenoir sacking. I thought we were following a long-term plan, and as for replacing Grant McCann with Shota don't get me started.
Philogene, Morton and Carvalho were excellent last season. Not having them this season was always going to leave a gaping hole in the quality of the squad.
Acun wants to try different manager and player combinations to see the results. In the grand scheme of things the club has been progressing well. They did manage to get promoted, increase their revenues and attendance, and the only thing left is the Premier League.
Money!!! I'm a Jack Army Fan and we Swansea fans understand exactly you feel!!! I'm also sure others have had to go through the same hardships! The fans need to make a noise,a loud noise so the owners understand what they are doing to their club! If you don't persist then they will continue to exploit you! A football fan👍!!!
Fun fact, Acun while not owning my club (Panathinaikos) has a very close friendship with our owner. He worked behind the signs to kick out our beloved manager Ivan Jovanovic while we were 1 point off the top during the winter break and brought in 71yo Fatih Terim, who kicked us down to 4th and almost denied us European football, which was saved by a cup-win by our interim manager. This man is an absolute menace.
Another reason why Hull City were too good to be in League One but they weren't as good as they were in the Premier League. They still are a club who do like being in the Championship and they are thinking of trying to get promoted back to the Premier League but I think they'll remain in the Championship. And also they were known to be a "yoyo club" as well.
Me and some mates before the season decided to name some predictions like Who would win the league Who could be a dark horse to get auto’s or playoffs Who would get relegated Who could be a dark horse to get relegated I surprised them on the last one when I said Hull Not even a hull fan but I just had a feeling as soon as they let Rosenior go that everything there is gonna go up shits creek
Sacking Liam Rosenior was dumb & arrogant. As were most of the signings foisted on him in January, the one signing we needed, a striker to replace Liam Delap we didn't get. Instead we got a past it Billy Sharpe, a winger we didn't need & a left back who still doesn't want to be here who was outplayed by a kid from the U21's. Sure we got Carvalho, great player & we had a superb season over all. When you consider it was pretty much a league one back four Rosenior did a remarkable job. Sure home form fell away but Tufan missed the penalty against Watford not him! We played some great stuff at times, Southampton hardly got a kick at their place, great games against Leicester & Ipswich all a good watch. Really building something & now we have nothing 👎 A clueless coach & a team going nowhere but down. They don't care, they're not buying it, he'll be gone soon. What a great shame.

Hull have no experienced head of recruitment? This would explain the signing of Chris Bedia. Union Berlin after being smart in the transfer market for years made some horrendous signings last season. Bedia was up there with the worst of them.
Oh, the annual video! We all love it! 🙂
WHEN IS IT GOING TO END ROBBIE 😭
the start is not me, I am just glad you posted
For readers unaware last Friday we were 1 nil down at Stoke at half-time. After bringing on Millar and Slater we scored three goals in 16 minutes and ended up winning 3-1 and shooting up the table to 13th. Next week we play Cardiff, who are currently bottom of the table, at home on our 120th anniversary. Onwards and upwards!!
Hi Alfie, please do a video about the chances of Celtic getting top 8 automatic qualification after seeing the CL draw.
TBF Hull are a work in progress at the moment. They have made many changes and need some time to gel. We need to give Hull city time.
I love that I'm subscribed to the best Hull City fan channel on YT!
NICE ANALYSIS.🔥.
Thanks for the Dull City update. Now back to the hits.
I literally just watched the last update yesterday Alfie
Great update alfie, been a hull city fan for 50 years,
The best striker weve had was keith edwards ,
We could do with him in his prime
You’re spot on with everything you’re saying, I don’t trust Acun as far as I can throw him but say one bad thing about the owner and everyone’s on your back.
Oh I've been waiting for this one! Though I was sure it'll come mid season
We are 5 games into the season, chill.
What on earth is going on in AS Roma
Walterball in the English second league. You love to see it. No worries, he'll bounce back and you'll miss relegation by inches just as HSV did last 6 years.
Cant wrap my head around Liam Rosenior is old enough to be a manager.......
Really disillusioned after the Rosenoir sacking. I thought we were following a long-term plan, and as for replacing Grant McCann with Shota don't get me started.
2:40 That's 3 seasons ago Alfie-
looks even more like we need an update on Reading as well with the sale looking to have collapsed today
Quite agree 👍
That intro was gold
Alfie! Shouldn't that be "What on earth is going on at 'ull City?"
I wouldn't even know how old I was if not for these videos
Referenced Kitchen Nightmares - exclusively used footage from Hells Kitchen.
My boy is slipping.
Hull City to win the champions league. Here. We. Go.
29:13 - 29:21 Actually made me spit take from laughter! A proper 'Its fine, I'm fine!' GIF moment right there!
Alfie, we need wither rise and fall of Sevilla video or a what on earth is going on in Seville one
Lmao im not even English but that intro was fire😂
This is the 4th one I’ve watched Alfie, when will they get their shit together
I didn't know this channel was still going
Another reason why Hull City were too good to be in League One but they weren't as good as they were in the Premier League. They still are a club who do like being in the Championship and they are thinking of trying to get promoted back to the Premier League but I think they'll remain in the Championship. And also they were known to be a "yoyo club" as well.
At this point Alfie we expect the quarterly update on whats going on at Hull City
Me and some mates before the season decided to name some predictions like
Who would win the league
Who could be a dark horse to get auto’s or playoffs
Who would get relegated
Who could be a dark horse to get relegated
I surprised them on the last one when I said Hull
Not even a hull fan but I just had a feeling as soon as they let Rosenior go that everything there is gonna go up shits creek
