This is my first time commenting for this channel, but i subscribed long time ago. Thank you very much man, this channel is so well constructed and taken care of, that you want to see every video, as you clearly have a great sense of how to present and describe with quality and love for indies, making the viewer fall for even genres and games that one wouldn´t even think of playing. I literally added lots of new favorites in my steam list thanks to you. Your channel is a beacon of light for me, as we do share for the most part the same taste in games (Metroidvanias, good pixel art, roguelites, 2D soulslike, jrpg) You transmit your passion through the screen. As an Argentinian I respect that. Keep it up and have a great end of year!

Yeah, but it's not exactly fair to compare a 65 person team with a solo developer. By that definition, you have EA/Ubisoft/Activision/Microsoft/Nintendo/Sony first parties, then EVERYTHING else which is a huge gap

Thanks for all of the content this year and bringing some interesting games to my attention. I'll say that I was not really high on some of the games on this list (Turnip Boy fell flat, The Ascent was really boring to play, and Skul was very bland) while some other games were ones that I would put much higher on the list (Dyson Sphere Program & Everhood). Still, definitely enjoy this list and the discussion it's generated.

Eastern Exorcist is the best action-game of the year. It's like a beat'em'up when you are dealing with mobs, and then like a Sekiro with Stamina when you get to the boss fights. can't just chip away at their health, but need to actually parry to break their Shield, and then use the Blade Abilities wisely to do max HP damage while they are broken. Really fun combat and gorgeous boss designs.
GRIME was good, but leaned way too much into precision platforming towards the end.
Ender Lilies was pretty great. Bit too easy towards the end, the mid-game bosses were the hardest.
Pronty was absolutely best metroidvania I've played. (not bought F.I.S.T. yet, gonna grab it this week from either Steam or EGS)
I own (but I'm yet to play) Bright Memory Infinite, Death's Door, Unsighted, Deedlit, Tails of Iron, the Ascent and Lamentum. Too many games, too little time.

Oh my god! Your top 25 aren't all Rogue-lites? *head explodes* Seriously though: Eastward made the list? Yay! So glad that my favorite indie Action RPG from this year made the list!
The Ascent is on the list too? Sweet! Love that game as well! I need to check out The Riftbreaker as well. I forgot about F.I.S.T too, and I wanna play that sometime!
Was the Record of Lodoss War your mentioned a sequel to another Lodoss War Metroidvania? I thought that there was one that 2 or more years old.
Also, can you please explain what it means to be a souls-lite instead of a souls-like?

    • @ClemmyGames
      @ClemmyGames  2 года назад

Heh, I do enjoy other genres here & there. Some nice picks that you put down as well.
Don't think there was another RoLW metroidvania game although I could be wrong.
It's souls-lite in that it borrow some elements from souls games but is not exactly like them. No corpse run mechanic (to recover souls, salt whatever) and combat doesn't explicitly have a stamina meter but is deliberate combat due to wind up animations, dodges and so on

Thanks for replying to this. Thanks for consistantly replying to whenever I comment on your videos. Your comment section for your videos has gotten so big at this point that that I figured that you'd have to stop doing so.

The only reason I decided to check out Library of Ruina and Ender Lilies is because the soundtrack is made by my favorite indie band "Mili," who also did the opening songs for the Goblin Slayer anime and movie.

Video was great but I think it would be better if you had a little gameplay sequence -> your commentary on the game -> gameplay.
Stopping after every point you make on a game slows the pace of the video a lot imo. Great vid nonetheless

I've been disappointed a bit about Eastward, since it's more narrative style of the game then it was shown on trailers, so I agree with you about the 15 position. Still a good game though. Incryption is the best :) Thanks for the another great list.
