Love is the sound of the two blades. Thanks for the engineer who design this chopper.
I was about to comment Sikorsky, but I realized that the design is owned by Bell Helicopter
Love is the sound of the only two blades.
Music to my ears! 🥰
to some vets this is the worst sound you can here! 😂
@@aJ-bw2sw being Vietnam-era veteran myself, I understand the flashbacks.
This pilot flies this Huey so easy. We used to hear them all the time where I live now but they are no longer used. So sad as no other helicopter makes this fantastic sound
Agreed
The af still uses the huey for combois in montana
I close my eyes and smell diesel and dirt.
brings chills to my neck and was making sure I had all my magazines and then realized I'm at home. Thanks
Never showing this to my grandpa ever again he was tweaking
I don't think you can find that sweet "chop-chop" coming out of any other helicopter's rotors quite like the Huey's. This is music right here!
The takeoff was so good
ท
🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😢😮😮😅😊😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊
Chinook maybe that is a nice chop chop but a heavy chop chop
You can't, the Cobra attack helicopter is similar but it's like diet coke compared to Coka Cola in sound
when you see this eagle in the sky with machine guns. you know you're fucked
I remember well Cu Chi Vietnam 67-68. 25th Infantry Division. What a machine
I live there, come visit the place sometimes
Just love the sound of the Huey. It's my favorite of all choppers. The way the blades makes that deep whipping sound is unbeatable.
This just triggered my Vietnamese uncle, now he’s hiding in the trees with a broom as a rifle

If you start the song Fortunate Son at 1:00 the song ends when the chopper lands at 3:20
Ah, i see you're a man of culture as well

I just did this and I won't lie that was awesome! Someone needs to upload this video like that, haha
I cannot tell you how big my grin was when I did this. You could have put a watermelon into my mouth without touching lips. So so so perfect.
The sound of these rotors and the A10's BRRrrrrrtttttt are the most iconic sounds short of the J87 Stuka's dive.
Yes. No other heli has that beautiful sound.

That is one of the best sounding helicopters ever produced. I love the chopping noise the rotors make.

An old 'Nam vet went riding out and took the scenic way
Up on a crest he stopped to rest and watch the end of day.
When from the coast the mighty ghosts of Hueys thundered by,
Warriors in the ancient wind, like angels filled the sky.
The door-guns still were glowing, the crew-chief's eyes were steel,
The blades were black and shiny, and the prop-wash he could feel.
A bolt of pride shot through him as they shook the rocky ground,
He saw the pilots flaring hard, and he heard that whooping sound.
Prop-wash? Thats fixed wing talk.
I don't know a single Huey aviator that calls it anything else. And you might say I know a few.
@@kotzting tell that pog to go to the quarter master and bring back a bucket of prop wash.

You know why this sound is so unique? The two blade rotor turns at a speed that has the tips moving supersonic. What you hear is a lot of little sonic booms! Had a couple of rides in the 212, I loved it especially at treetop level!
since around 1990 it got already way quieter... there they changed the blades. Before that it was even stronger.
really??

That video is a result of an incredible focus on audio-visual awesomeness. Thank you VERY much!
A well done video of a fine machine and definite tribute to our brave men and women in Uniform.
I was alive, as a small child, while the war in Vietnam was going on and I can remember Huey's, Flying Bananas and many other helicopters flying by our house in Anchorage - its funny because I can still remember playing with toy cars on the floor of our house with the TV on and seeing the "Jolly Green Giant" bean commercials with the "HO HO HO" at the end, somehow my mind associates the Huey with these commercials, it was all the same time era.
...Recently, the lady and I were travelling in Arizona and passed a truck and trailer on the Interstate which was hauling a Slick, it looked like a privately owned machine that could be made to fly. They're also much larger than I had ever realized.
Love that sound!
