    The actual location is not " Point Loma in San Diego" as stated in the description but Torrey Pines glider port - which is still in operation today - though dominated by paragliders and RC aircraft having budged out the sailplanes some years ago.

    Nice. They didn’t have GoPros or digital cameras back then so capturing this footage was a bit of a challenge.

    Flew here on the winch, after learning in Oahu Didn't know sailplanes were displaced by other types of aircraft. How sad.

      Long ago. Only remnants of the runway was there last I visited a few years ago.

    That’s my hometown, I felt it was terrible when the gliders got the heave hoe. There was a winch there after this was filmed.
