Use Braided Wire sleeving and adhesive line heat shrink, that stuff is cheap on amazon and when you have little room like your hood cavities, it will make your wiring a much easier job.

I had issues when I used a merc switch on my pathfinder. Every time I hit a bump in the road the lights flickered.
