Watching the highlights of this game just over a year later, and man is it slow. I hope women's football can get faster as I actually do enjoy watching it. Unfortunately, this level of speed will not attract the number of fans and amount of money needed to take it to the elite levels. Unfortunately, Arsenal women are getting worse by losing their best players to Man City, Barcelona and Chelsea women.

Why wolfsburg struggled to take on this arsenal team is still a mystery to me. From the oldest players to the youngest ones, wolfsburg probably is the most complete squad with world class players. These two legged games should be them scoring tons of goals, they just scored one more than this depleted arsenal team.

Janssen was okay still, and I'm amazed at Rauch's consistency, but Hendrich lacked concentration and Wilms just disappeared after a while. Wassmuth, the center forward, had to repeatedly cover for her in the 2nd half. Oberdorf needs a rest as well. Wedemeyer, Demann and Agrez have barely played all season, Hegering is as amazing as she is injury prone. Imho what they lack isn't attacking power, it's depth in defense.
@@Rosenrot0eme fatigue shouldn't be an issue I think because both teams weren't involved in any domestic game in between these two games. if it's a long term fatigue from all the fixtures and international games, both teams are equal in that sense. the defense switched off a few times in this game that's for sure, but idk I couldn't pinpoint what exactly is lacking in this. Maybe if Popp was playing much higher they could've scored more, but idk maybe it's something else. Hope they will give Barcelona a huge challenge now. Unlike Arsenal, Barcelona's defense can match their speed.

Long term fatigue absolutely is an issue for both teams, you could even argue that Arsenal has got it worse. That doesn't make it any less of a problem when it comes to Wolfsburg's defensive unit, Hendrich, Rauch and Oberdorf in particular. Popp was playing as a pivot because Lena Lattwein is injured and Marina Hegering is just coming back from injury. More depth in defense could free her from having to fill that role, but again, I don't really see an issue up front. On a side note, some players mentioned they had problems communicating in such a loud stadium, so that might be something for them to work out as well.

If you had almost all of your first team injured of the likes of the world class calibre such as miedema, mead, little and Williamson you would moan too. Also barca are not the team they used to be they only just managed to beat ' one tactic chelsea' ( hoof the ball to kerr ). We would have easily beaten barca

Unlucky Arsenal.... Pass what all that fuss was about with the none-penalty. Obvious she was offside and even if she was not, watch the incident, her thigh knocks the Arsenal Players arm, causing her to hand to fly up and hit the ball. Considering the injuries, I thoughgt Arsenal did well and can hold their heads up high. It would have been great to see an Arsenal vs Chelsea Final, but alas not to be....maybe next Season, we can have an all English Final, or maybe throw Bayern in there instead :0)
I nearly kicked the TV in shear frustration, they kept passing the ball to one another in their on back , backwards , sideway, backward again even when they did not have to, is this under instruction from their manager? Sooner or later some one will make a mistake, as did happen in the first leg, and again to day, and it cost them the match. I felt sorry for Katie Mccabe, worked her socks out, for me the best player on the pitch, but they were without Williamson, Beth Mead Miedema , and the terrier Kim Little, it proved, too many top plyers missing
