Am agree. And it's mostly of FNAF or Undertale animations. I want to use Team Fortress and Left 4 Dead models to create some good animations. Heck, I may even want to try out a decent horror animation some day.
And here is how i animate: I use the graph editor to lay out my initial animation. I then select all keyframes and use the Step Tangent, which i then use the round tool. And, honestly it works out very nicely.
Thanks a lot for making this tutorial I've wanted to get into SFM for a few years now and didn't know where to start. I love your animations and they have motivated me to finally start learning SFM in my spare time. I look forward to more of your animations and hopefully more tutorials.
+Lt. Eddy Make a animation tutorial explaining the basics of animation and some other things that you think we need to learn love this video by the way its really good
If you're having any sorts of trouble not being to move something - please check you're in the right timeline, the correct item/model selected, and the blue arrow playhead is in the spot you're working on. Also, SFM is a heavy resource program. If you're having issues or lag, it's most likely your setup. Posting this since many of the problems in the comments are related to the same issue.
As stated above check the if the blue playhead is in the correct selected (green) area. The monitor will only show what's on the playhead, not what's selected.
This video made me actually start my very first sfm animation test 3 days ago, for real. This video introduced me to what motion editor is, and i used another video to learn more about the graph editor. Switching between these 2 is pretty familiar to me now, and all I need to do is improve my actual animation posing skills so that it doesnt look stiff. Rn i'm on day 2 and i hope i can finish this by day 5-7. Thanks man! your introduction is really helpful
Thanks for the help on SFM, Lt. Eddy! The valve tutorials were way more confusing and difficult to get. Glad to see someone put them into a manner that most people can understand! Keep up the good work!
Earned a sub and a like purely for the fact that you stated you had no music playing in the background, with intentions to allow us, the viewer to have their own music
pro tip, when making your movement and action and whatnot, rightclick the viewport and then deselect "enable lighting", this will make everything the default lighting, which lets you see every single detail in your animation far easier
the best tutorial around for beginners and for those who have a bit more knowledge. I learned some stuff i didnt know before. thank you for this tutorial.
Lt. Eddy, you are a godsend. Without this video, I wouldn't know how to 'Enable Volumetrics.' Because I'm too lazy to experiment with features to figure out what they do.
For people who don't have their timelines turning orange: Click the plus button on the top left and click "create new animation set for camera." After that, go to your secondary viewport and press the gear icon, camera, change scene, then click whichever camera you've just created (whatever it's named)

SFM is by far the hardest animation program EVER!
