Was there. Fantastic show, just a week before things shut down, so it turned out to be the last concert for 8 months and counting, quite happy it was such a good one. Btw, the lyrics is actually entirely different in the swedish version. All the songs from the Carolus Rex album that has both english and swedish versions are different and not outright translations and sometimes give entirely different perspectives. You are correct that it's about the 30 year war and the swedish version is a more personal journey of a lone solider, while the english version is more about the war as a whole.
Heres the (rough) translation of the swedish lyrics.
I look around and see my home disappear
My time at home now feels to me far too short
Only a youth, barely a man when duty called
If I get to see my home again, I do not know
Among kinsmen from my village, I went out to battle
    And the world burned
    Because the war it can
    Destroy a man
I give my life for my homeland
    But who misses me?
    So see me as
    A husband, a friend
Father and son who never comes home
    But who mourns me?
Went out in battle for Sweden, was baptized in blood
Out there, death awaits, no heroism
On the fields where kinsmen fall, no song is heard
    Challenging our destinies, once again
    Far from home
Be baptized and die in battle
    And the world burned
    Because the war it can
    Destroy a man
I give my life for my homeland
    But who misses me?
    So see me as
    A husband, a friend
Father and son who never comes home
    But who mourns me?
And when my time has run out
    Who will care?
    They fight on
Does a soldier get a dignified end?
    Fall asleap
    Fade away
    And never wake up
    Because the war it can
    Destroy a man
I give my life for my homeland
    But who misses me?
    So see me as
    A husband, a friend
Father and son who never comes home
    But who mourns me?

If you are a Swede and can't relate to this song you're city has not enough interesting history. I relate to this song so hard because my surname is and old soldier name and my ancestors fought the Danes in the war over Gothenburg and we stayed here in Gothenburg. If it wasn't for the sacrifice these soldier gave to Sweden in the 30 year war and all other Swedish wars I may not be here... ❤️❤️❤️ Älvsborgs Regemente: 3:e Kompaniet Norra Kinds FTW!

Not to make this all about America or anything, but I share the last name of one of the greatest military heroes for the US civil war, and even though I don't live in the North anymore, I still carry this name with pride. It means something special to know that somewhere in your family line your land was preserved and saved by your own blood!

The Swedish version is personal, about a single soldier from Sweden. The English version is more generalized for all soldiers.
This is a translation of the Swedish version, not by me.
"I look around and see my home disappear
My time at home now feels far too short
Only youth, hardly a man when duty called me
If I get to see my home again, I do not know
Among relatives from my village, I went out to battle
    And the world burned
    For the war it can
    Destroy a man
I give my life for my homeland
    But who misses me?
    So see me as it
    A husband, a friend
Father and son never coming home
    But who mourns me?
Went out in battle for Sweden, was baptized in blood
Out there, death awaits, not heroism
In fields where relatives fall, no song is heard
    Challenging our destinies, once again
    Far from home
Be baptized and die in battle
    And the world burned
    For the war it can
    Destroy a man
I give my life for my homeland
    But who misses me?
    So see me as it
    A husband, a friend
Father and son never coming home
    But who mourns me?
    "Guitar solo"
And when my time has run out
    Who cares then?
    They are struggling
Does a soldier get a dignified end?
    Get to sleep
    Disappear
    And never wake up
    For the war it can
    Destroy a man
I give my life for my homeland
    But who misses me?
    So see me as it
    A husband, a friend
Father and son never coming home
    But who mourns me?"

The song is about the 30 year war (as you said), it was a war that was fought between the scandinavian countries and killed extremely many men, so this is a song about a young man that was drafted and how he felt that he would never come home and that no one would remember him.
