  • In this video we got called to a house that has being infested with sewer flies. We ran our camera down the copper clean out a week before and found the larva of the sewer flies was stinking to the top of the pipe and a break in the sewer line just outside of the foundation was allowing the flies to breed. We decided it was best to hydro scrub the sewer flies out of the line with 4000 psi of water and our penetration nozzle. we will be returning next week to dig the pipe up and fix the break in the pipe to stop the sewer flies from breeding.

Had something similar with the sewer flies. Turns out it was a vent pipe not connected during a homeowner remodel that was letting them in the room. We found it made the connection and they went away.

they can migrate through traps backwards, but mainly only large flood drains, which often are nearly dried out/open.

Interesting 😎 But 1would have thought that the leak, where the flys come out,
still would to be found in the same room. Anyway it will probably be less if the pipe break has been repaired.
Will you be able to shut down the drain pipe in this room were you worked from?
    Till then ,stay safe👍

Well it looks like the garage was an addition maybe, onto a slope, which has settled.
They need to brace for further hill deformation. It won’t be huge, but it’ll happen as there and no trees or shrubs stabilising the lawn.

I am fighting them right now. They are hanging out around and in my basement floor drain that has the heavy iron cover over it. Im using 1 cup of salt, 1 cup of baking soda, and 1 cup of vinegar and flushing the next day with very hot water daily to get rid of them. Im hoping this works. I am in Wisconsin, and I have never seen them before this last winter.
