Actually, during his stay in this arc, they taught him nothing XD. He was just doing his routine training while some random dude stay next to him and then left saying there was nothing else to teach him. That happened at least 4 or 5 times according to the Manga XD

Wirbel being a lowkey, really stand-up guy, was really gratifying to see. Just 1 more reason I adore this show.
I want this arc to end with Fern and Frieren coming back from the test, and, while they are going back to their place, they find Stark surrounded by a crowd of people of all ages, the younger kids want Stark to train them, the older men and women want him to marry their daughters and the adventurers want to recruit him, I don't know, I just picture Stark like a highly-seeked for dude being that nice and strong too.
I ALSO WANT TO SEE FERN JEALOUS, like, she has barely shown any affection towards our dude, no wonder he thinks she hates him.
My, Fern is just expressionless, you see. Also she doesn't really know how to demonstrate her feelings and having a hard times understand some little things. That's why she had that poker face entire time.
I feel like growing up with Frieren and Heiter has had its toll on fern's emotions and expressiveness and morals kind of. Stark is a new variable which she has never encountered and she's kinda unable to process how to deal with him.
That's why she's so morally upright most of the time yet she thinks there's absolutely no problem with being a drunk.. that's heiter's influence right there😂😂
She'll come around in due time.

What I love about the world building of this series is that normally, we just see an arbitrary level of power Stark, Fern and frieren have, because they fight enemies it's supposed to just be a random menace.
Then, they introduce these character to society to be able to fully understand how absolutely broken they truly are. I wonder how they would react if the other humans knew the feats these 3 achieved.
For Stark, mere boars were a piece of cake when he basically soloed a dragon. Fern was able to take down a powerful demon that I'm sure that even Denken would have struggled to deal with.
Remember, Frieren is only acknowledged as powerful because everyone knows the feats she has done. Denken likely doesn't even know how strong Fern truly is because, as Frieren, she perfected the ability to hide her mana.
I brings me the same feels like one punch man, where we see Saitama defeating everyone like it's nothing, yet we don't know how truly he measured in society, only after when we meet King, we know how much he was going to get measured, because King is a S rank #5 hero, meaning there's only 4 heroes stronger than him, and he was only acknowledged *SOME* of the enemies Saitama defeated with a single punch.
I love this anime.
