    Gen is going to be very liberating, being able to export the patch as code is a gamechanger!

    OMG that Nino guy at the end was so nervous, but he was hilarious and awesome! For such a nerdy presentation, this was really entertaining and exciting. That's how much of a noob I am....

    Gen is really cool. In the beginning of my journey into dsp and to implement stuff like IIR-filters in gen is just a lot of fun and very educational.

    I really LOVE some M4L devices, as Dr-Chaos (and all MIDI crazy stuff in general) and some audio effects.
    The real special thing are the LFOs (and varius modulators) for me: they really turn the entire Ableton workstation into a full powerful modular synthesizer, with ANY kind of synthesis possibilities.
    M4L really can also make Ableton produce a track for you with autogenerative patches; I'm into psytrance production and using MIDI devices as Dr-Chaos and Instant Haus, I really was able to generate psytrance grooves tat was 100% autogenerative.
    But for creating my synths I prefer Reaktor because I find it sounds so powerful, Max stuff sounds always "thin" to my ears. Reaktor is also simply to use too: it's rally easy to create powerful algorythms, including regular macros or core cells too!
    SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH GUYS.

    Whew! That guy sure was cool! He likes noisy stuff but not to code, he tells gen~ is really cool and shows how you can do some totally trivial stuff with it.

    Kinda funny , single sample feedback loops are possible ( it was about time ) , reaktor could do it since the addition of core in 2004 , reaktor core is pseudo code but it's fantastic
    Still max is great , So is reaktor

    Quick question:
    How would one turn a Max Midi Effect patch into a VST/AU? I have not seen/found any information on this anywhere. Is that possible, or does it only work with Audio Effects and Instruments?

    The only thing that counts, is what comes out of the speakers. All this talk about endless possibilities is obsolete, if you can't create something and stick with it. We need some limits. Infinite combinations and resources will get you nowhere.

    • @joechapman8208
      @joechapman8208 4 года назад +21

      I'll never create a M4L unit for myself so the infinite possibilities aren't directly useful to me either. But this video's not for me; it's for the developers who will create the M4L devices that I do like to use. They'll narrow the spectrum down to something I find useful, and I'm happy to know that Cycling '74 is providing K-Devices, Sonic Faction and all those other people with the maximum range of possibility.

      You're wrong, this matters because you can't create the sound if you don't have the code below unless you don't use PC and DSP and only an authentic analog instrument (which is not as popular as numeric stuff nowadays) and to have endless combinations and resources will get you everywhere.

      Michal Ochedowski you obviously don’t understand the meaning of the word “obsolete” lol. I’d recommend a dictionary my dude
      Also, just cause you like your music to sound stale and conventional doesn’t mean that’s everyone’s jam. Live and let live
