Literally every Minecraft youtuber I see focuses on making their villager accommodations as efficient as possible. Am I the only person on the planet who likes to build each of them proper houses and a nice little community? I mean, I get why Nifty did what he did in this. It's part of the theme. Still, I would love to see someone, anyone, on this planet build a nice place to live for them.
Problem with letting them roam is that villager ai is very silly... sometimes they die by killing themselves off fall damage. Sometimes they get stuck on ledges then get zombified. Other times they lose track of beds and breed more than available beds. Not even including zombie sieges. In other words, trapping them is ironically safer for them.

I mean, unless you're trying to speedrun things, the few extra seconds it may take to find the villager you're looking for should be no problem at all. Anyways, if you're looking for mc youtubers who treat their villagers like human beings, you might wanna check out GeminiTay, if you aren't watching her videos already. I discovered her channel through her 1.16 hardcore survival series and in that one she does a huge village transformation that allows the villagers to run around freely without the risk of having them hurt themselves (mostly at least, since villagers will always find a way to take damage in the most stupid ways)

You should try the renewable resource challenge. Basically you can only harvest things that can be made/grown. Although finding treasure and trading with villagers is allowed.

Nifty. Diamonds spawn less when exposed to air blocks. So caving for Diamonds is better at the beginning of the game, but strip mining is better later game.
For the wither skeleton farm you should place wither roses on all spawning blocks. I think it makes it so only wither skeletons spawn or a lot of wither skeletons and some blazes, not really sure but wither roses improve it from what I've seen. so basically replace all nether bricks on the spawning platform with netherrack to place wither roses, if you do make a 200 days of this that is
i wouldn't even be able tp do 10% of that in 100 real life days of minecraft lmao. goes to remind me how good nifty is and how terrible i am lol. still, awesome vid.

Thing about looting: you need to kill the thing with the sword out. Fall damage won't do the trick, but a bow in the offhand will.
