The most dinamic and easy-to-understand video on Seaweed Cultivation cycle I have ever seen. I am a Sea Farm Operations instructor and this video is PERFECT! Thanks for making it :)

Hey! I initially came here because I was looking for a way to somehow farm seaweed at home. I don’t currently live anywhere near the ocean, is there a way to grow any breed of especially Japanese breeds of seaweed in a very large tank or something? Thank you in advance!

Yes, there is land based cultivation of seaweeds as well. Check out Seakura and Acadian Sea Plants as examples! We also have some videos posted of our tank cultivation of Dulse!

@@otakumangastudios3617 Thank you! My understanding is that it is very species and region dependent.

Couldn't the sea weed just be cut near the source then you put the lines back out with the plants already established making for 45 days less to wait till the next crop?

Hi! Thank you! If I understand you correctly, I think we refer to that as the haircut method, and yes, it's something we are testing!

Yes you can, we call it the “haircut” method. We have a multi-year experiment to quantify the yield and quality using this approach.
