soooo, he is wearing a hard hat with ZERO overhead hazards, BUT, no steel toed boots (sledge hammer hazard), no work gloves (broken glass/metal/screws sharp edges), and no safety glasses (glass and wood shrapnel). What a BRILLIANT guy he is. Unbelievable.
Me (loving vintage technology and salvaging) yelling at my screen as this guy goes to town with a sledge hammer on all the components and speakers. “I’m lookin’ for the copper”. Lol
The plastic looking material in the screen is a fernel lens. Certain ones act like a magnifying glass and will reach temperatures of over 2500 degrees F. Keep it
Makes out he's going to make some serious coin on that tiny bit of dirty copper and alloy. When if he had dismantled it with care he could have sold the greebly bits and other parts for a lot more to people who actually want to buy them.
I have now watched 3 videos from this guy, and he clearly has absolutely no idea how to "scrap" or salvage anything. he only likes to wreck shit. which makes me think that his spaceship in the garage is really his brother's, otherwise he would have taken a sledgehammer to it also.
That’s was painful to watch, I felt bad for the TV. All of those years in technology destroyed. Imagine this guy running after “Johnny 5” with his sledgehammer.
Damn Luigi, you went to town with that sledge hammer! Lol!! Not sure the little bit of magnet wire is worth all the effort though. I'd be much more interested in the optics, you could build a bad ass solar-powered metal melter with the Fresnel lens in the screen. Oh well, to each his own.
You Would Make More Money On The Boards If U Leave Cooper On, but not as much as Copper alone seperate frm the boards, Copper holds the highest value, boards is like one $1 lesser, so Greg u doin it by the highest way of makin yo money, providin u have the time to do it, some Scrappers dont, so its not worth their time. +TheDreamCar ahh you can start a fire with the front plastic screen especially if it's 100% sunny day. someone will probably comment on what the name Is. Please help me withe the name of the front screen.....
you tossed out speakers and 3 magnifying lens that would start fire...hey, buddy, I am female and nearly 71 and I have done it the correct way...I used a hand held screw driver and saved the screws....,.the BIG Fresnel lens that covered the entire screen is useful in making fires too but you are too busy yelping..
Instead of destroying and making a cluttered mess, just sell that TV if it was perfectly working and that’s much more worth getting money out of. If it didn’t work, I suggest carefully salvaging every electronic part in the best condition and selling it on Ebay. I am sorry, but scrapping isn’t such worth it as selling parts. You would get more money by just selling the whole TV if it worked or parts.
Dude i use to watch his videos but damn idk now i just saved teo of them one from being almost tossed to rhe road id someone didnt buy it i got it for 25 bucks then i got a song befor that ome for 40 bucks shes black an beautiful
if you didn't beat it to shit, you could have used the tv case to make a nice piece of furniture. one time i had a pet lizard live in an old tv for 5 years.
I had a vary nice tv like that that worked an picked it up from my friend an had it in the truck driving home an the screen flew out I was so damn man :(
Ah, projector TVs. I remember almost killing myself helping a friend get one into his third floor flat. That was just before plasma displays cane out and rendered these beasts obsolete. Now you can't give them away (at least, not here in the UK) and those £2500 plasma displays are now practically worthless too (though I still much prefer them to LCD or LED ones in spite of the power consumption.)
i don't thing that he is a scraper look at the mess he has made tack it a part tacks some time but no were the mess that he makes and the one with the tv's just dume all the glass and the gas nop not me two tack the back off just use a screw driver
+david brunner Trash Trucks and Lawn Care Hey, Where does it go? I recently started scrapping electronics (Usually smaller things like cell phones, computers, monitors, wi-fi components, flat screen tv's, ect and I can assure you I Disassemble them, not smash) I have accumulated quite a mound of #7 plastics. They are clean pieces, free of any components. Where do you suggest I take them?
How can you salvage parts and make the most $ when you destroy them? You would make a HORRIBLE auto salvage yard operator. You DO know working parts are worth more than broken ones right? You would destroy a $20 part to get the $3 scrap value for it broken? You know there's gold on those motherboards right? You most likely got $30 for the destroyed raw metals you were after when if you were a civil human being you could've tripled that in selling the working components using a screw driver instead of a sledgehammer. But it seems you love your sledgehammer too much lol! Disassemble, don't destroy. At the very least the clean up is easier.
No wonder you're still scrapping at 60yrs old ... fixed, (if it was broken at all) that tv today is worth about 500... parted out twice that ... and you just went for 2 dollars worth of copper and aluminum ? .... JFC !
soooo, he is wearing a hard hat with ZERO overhead hazards, BUT, no steel toed boots (sledge hammer hazard), no work gloves (broken glass/metal/screws sharp edges), and no safety glasses (glass and wood shrapnel). What a BRILLIANT guy he is. Unbelievable.
I was thinking the same thing. PPE is key. Scrap safely.
@@biffskills4842 Or, at least PPE that makes sense.
For a person such as myself that would attempt fixing rather than destroying, this is difficult to watch :(
Omg dude I'm with you I just saved two I think the guy wanted the lens to make a fkn torch or some shit to melt metal
doesn't fully know what he is doing... but he is having so much fun. looks happy. and it is still informational. :) thumbs up
Destroyed all the components that hackers would want. Paid no attention to the giant fresnel lens.
Andrew Eliason
I agree
Andrew Eliason
I agree
You Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar, you must be Greek!
That tv actually had some good speakers.
Thanks for the demo! Looks like fun. I'll be doing this to my tv tomorrow. It'll be safer than lifting it up my basement stairs.
Good Lord tell me u saved it for somebody that wanted it
wtf he destroyed the lens
Some people put down thousands on therapy, this guy gets free therapy and makes a few bucks. love the videos!
Caleb mum
2:54 Yay! Toxic metals including mercury!
look its curly joe from the three stooges
John s
I see it a little bit.
Dude that was a beautiful unit, i could never destroy something with such gorgeous woodwork like that, id repurpose the console
Painful to watch all that destruction even on a dead TV.
Do discharge the capacitor(s) first.
watching non discharged capacitor removal may have been worth watching ...
But do we know it was dead
Atill could bw repair what could you really not repair on that set by taking itbout an outting new if not being able to solder
Me (loving vintage technology and salvaging) yelling at my screen as this guy goes to town with a sledge hammer on all the components and speakers. “I’m lookin’ for the copper”. Lol
Thanks for showing what's inside one of those huge TV's - yet to large and heavy !
JESUS! Absolutely destroying that BEAUTIFUL Fresnel lens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ikr i just learned about what they are capable of doing he must not know or does not care because im sure people would buy one of these
I wonder what happen if this guy take drugs?
HAHAHA
Keep the screen. You can do amazing stuff with it
Like what?
@@inqwhyringmindz A cooker from the sun

Don't mind me but his body is the shape of an avocado
The way he smashes those CRTs...
Dismantled with surgical precision. haha
emquanto nos do brasil ,precisamos destas peças ,vcs de outros paises estao destroindo as,lamentavel!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was murder 🧐🤯🤨
Makes out he's going to make some serious coin on that tiny bit of dirty copper and alloy. When if he had dismantled it with care he could have sold the greebly bits and other parts for a lot more to people who actually want to buy them.
This is the biggest waste of time. A messy half hour for a couple dollars in scrap metal and a crap ton of bulky, useless parts.
Nah dude it's fu
+Channel 2012 you are such a bore
CBXweb
That's the way it goes sometimes.
Y didn't u just unscrew everything and take your time like I do instead of making a big old mess
Swinging a sledgehammer at any age is exercise....
was the TV working?
Is this what they call a destructive teardown?
Tank you danki
You remind me of Casey Neistat opening his mail.
Is that a pyramid spaceship in your garage?
You are so funniest
I have now watched 3 videos from this guy, and he clearly has absolutely no idea how to "scrap" or salvage anything. he only likes to wreck shit. which makes me think that his spaceship in the garage is really his brother's, otherwise he would have taken a sledgehammer to it also.
😂😂😂
What the heck is happening right now. Wheel it into the garage on a cart nice and easy. And then it was on. Full scale sledgehammer. Good video dude.
That’s was painful to watch, I felt bad for the TV. All of those years in technology destroyed.
Imagine this guy running after “Johnny 5” with his sledgehammer.
Kerennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
I wonder why they never plug it in to see if it work before destroying it. It may just need a picture tube
