Our Van Life adventure brings us to Monterey, California and Midtown, Sacramento where we explore Big Sur, eat a delicious Thanksgiving dinner, face some adversity with a broken bus, hit up a local zoo and get one of our most important possessions stolen all explained while whipping up some delicious vegan corn chowder.

An immersion blender, great for soups instead of taking the soup into your friends house. Always use mine for split pea soup, asparagus soup and refried beans. They don’t take up much room, just a thought I would share with you guys.

Killer drone footage!!! SF, Davis to Sac is one of the largest bike theft areas in the country, I live in Davis. In Davis they come through with sawzall and load trucks up like crazy. Sorry to hear about that.

I lived and worked in the Sacramento area for many years and yah the theft there is really bad. It yousto be the car theft capital of California.
Sorry about the bike man... I had mine stolen before as well. Get a cable lock on them. It sucks but sometimes it is all about need to people.... I am walking and I need to get somewhere quickly...Hey a bike.. That is all the thought some people give to things. Don't give up on people doing the right thing...just help them make the right choice by not giving them the opportunity to fail. Lock it up. Nice to see a new video from you two.

You kids are awesome. Better luck in the future. Weel bearings are generally inexpensive. Especially if you get it fixed as soon as you hear the noise. You shure it's a bearing? Might be a break pad rubbing the rotor. I had a sticking brake calliper wearing out the break pad prematurely.
It was actually just some break hardware we had to replace ! Inexpensive and all set now :)

Sucks to lose your bike. Tire pressure looked to be a bit low on that front tire. You probable have truck tires which require a higher pressure than passenger cars. I run my truck at 55 psi all around. My 2 cents ;-)

Sounds like a dry squeaking ball joint. There might be grease fittings that can be greased to shut it up unless it's shot. Get you a grease gun and grease the bus yourself every oil change. The service shops will probably not do this because most of them suck.

You should really consider supporting small businesses whenever you can. Midas is the last place I'd take my auto. They'll try to oversell the shit out of you and I'm certain you'll get a higher quality of work from an independently owned shop.

don't u have a bike lock? anywhere u keep your bike it should be locked...it is 2017, people still steal & always will!!! I was riding my bike around 120 miles a week, not once did I not lock it up & I still got it! Hey consider it your thanks GIVING your bike away! HAHAHA just tell urself it was a guy who needed it so u can sleep it off! But seriously get a bike lock, they are like 19$ for a very decent one at walmart!!!

every time Ive taken my cars and my camper to a chain they deliberately fuck something up. last oil change they tried to get me on shit and no sale so they locked my steering wheel up. I knew what they did and I fixed it in front of their faces.
most often they'll ruin your steering control. all kinds of shit has happened in various states... including breaking my emergency brake line getting a new muffler at midas.
if you don't know of a trusted place in area... Google reviews. also ask a cop because sometimes they have repairs done outside of station.
and watch them like a hawk. last time I used a chain and couldn't get an extra sale out of me
.. they locked my steering wheel inside my van. I couldn't see it.
they saw the closest thing to the devil that day my bitching them out.. but they don't give a fuck.. I didn't shoot them nor any proof.
2 other times its happened in Cali and Ohio I bitched a storm and they fixed immediately what they tried to con me on.

oh... I'm serial posting again. sears lied I needed every brake issue including rotors replaced. I knew it was bs because all were only a few months old. I paid $950 for it... problems still there... and I noticed they drove 150 miles on my van and doors were unlocked when I picked it up out in parking lot left alone all night. I have digital TV etc. only thing stolen were a couple mylar sleeping bags.
the problem with my van was the trans.
I filed a BBB report and I won my case. I was 100% refunded. and my van kept the new brakes and rotors.
bastard shits took my van for a weekend get away while trans was going out.
so try to hook up with a BBB certified place.
We lucked out! Ended up only being some break hardware we had to replace & was only about $200. We thought it was going to be much much worse!
