Sweethearts since high school, Kenny and Marilyn Newcombe fondly recall riding to church every Sunday in the back seat of the 1965 Mustang that had been purchased new by Marilyn’s father. Today, Kenny admits that the couple was also influenced by the TV series “Route 66,” which led them to dream about acquiring a Corvette when their kids got older. However, at 6-feet, 4-inches, Kenny wasn’t a good fit for the two-seater Chevrolet sports car.
So, instead, in 1990, they reached deep into their dating-days memories to purchase their first Mustang, a 1965 convertible, followed by a 1966 hardtop for Marilyn. After refurbishing both Mustangs for Mustang Club of America concours shows, the Newcombes dove headfirst into the Mustang community, becoming heavily involved in the MCA by showing their Mustangs around the country and eventually joining the national organization’s leadership. Kenny served as vice president; Marilyn was elected to the board of directors and spent six years as the MCA’s office manager.
I love the collection is totally awesome my favorite cars of all time
What a cool couple, and some very cool exclusive Mustangs .
and those GTH bookends OMG!
Very impressive!
Observation:
The auction will be online sales, mostly blue collar bleed blue who are notorious nickle dimes.
This couple will loose 1/2 of each car for auction cost.
So much for Mustang club of America whe you can't sell 10 cars in an ad.
I got my 65 convertable mustang for $5000 and it has a foxbody 302 cobra motor and c4 automatic.
Cool collection but i've now bought 17 cars from other auction companies since you refuse to make your auctions available online.
You can bid on Mecum auctions online, phone or in person, the online auction procedure is great according to my friends that have bought that way.
EVERYONE THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY SAYING THAT MY FOX BODY'S WILL BE VALUABLE LOL EAT YOUR WORDS LOL.
Isn't the auction in 2023? The title says 2022.
It is January 4-15 2023
