Bomber dragon and zeroboros turbo are so fun, not just for orcust, any deck that can play it, i prefer this over floodgate monsters because you actually need to think before activating it.
Orcust before orcust knightmate is prob one of the most fun i have while playing yugioh. Turbo gumblar is lulzy. Too bad knightmare broke it for me cause 2 monster = full orcust combo is just lame af

One thing that could've been said is how important I:P Masquerena's release was to make Orcust Sky Striker relevant. She allowed the Striker spells, then the Orcust interruptions and, after that, a Link summon, to take advantage of all the monsters summoned by the Orcust engine, all during the opponent's turn.
Could you make a video about how Dragon Link keeps on coming back to the Meta again and again, I like the deck alot. Also everytime they get hit on the banlist, they would just evolve into a new form and return to the meta

This is my favorite Yugioh channel on ytube by far. This much quality of content has to be much more appreciated. Keep it up! PS: I topped a WCS with Orcust Sky Striker. It remains one of my favorite decks of all time and i do still play it pure sometime even today
I actually miss this format, but it was also when I was just getting back into the game, and it was fun having that wonderment of learning new combos and testing tons of decks. Also, I am so happy to have an Ulti Dingirsu like what was shown in the video
Late reply but it was the same case for me. After 10 years i came back to the game, i built a blue eyes deck and got destroyed so decided to build a strong deck no matter the price. Made orcust and to this day it’s still my favorite competitive deck I ever made. Currently play branded but orcust will always have a special place in my hear. I miss harp.
Those times where everybody was playing the Orcust engine in just about _EH VER REH THANG_ and I remember hating that. Nowadays, it's like they don't exist. The lore's neat btw.
Something you kind of omitted was that near the last month before Knightmare Mermaid was banned, the reason why the Lunalight Orcust variant was THE BEST is because around that time the 2019 megatins were released and none other than Nibiru itself changed the entire game to the point combo decks had to be deckbuilt with one goal in mind: "Can i build a board without getting hit by Nibiru?". Enter, Lunalight. You got a rank 4 spamming engine that doubles as a link spam engine and being able to summon Azathot on the 5th summon then follow up with making Knightmare mermaid. Not only that but Lunalight Orcust was also the only orcust variant that could summon Azathot under the 5th summon AND had access to freaking Abyss Dweller before you got locked into DARK monsters. The Dancers definitely had the perfect synergy with the orchestra machines.
I'm not going to lie, this video, while not being the best visually or sound amazing... But this just hits diffrent orcust, eternal Format... I will hold you near and dear to my heart for the rest of my life
When I first saw the Orcust cards when they were released, I immediately knew that they were going to be broken. At my locals, they had a "free box" where people put cards they didn't want and anybody could take. I rummaged through it and basically had an Orcust deck core. When Knightmare Orcust came out, people suddenly started to try find stuff for Orcust from the free box, little did they know I took most of it due to their lack of faith in the archetype lol 😂. From that day, I won locals many times when I discovered the destruction loop you can do with Topologic Bomber Dragon. Basically still having monsters on field with 3 interruptions that didn't allow your opponent to have a field. Good times...
Scrap Orcust was my second deck after getting back into the game with mechanized madness 😍 i missed the harp horror/engage days but still have a soft spot for them. Very keen to try them in eldlich
Phantasmay helped a lot too. Fixed your hand with a draw effect, big body, a negate, or food for allure/grepher Awful card now, but outstanding back then
Uninteresting story: I currently almost exclusively play Orcust right now. I also did not play Yu-Gi-Oh when Orcust was meta-relevant. The only version of Orcust that I know is the neutered version that is played today. But idc I love the deck. The engine is really satisfying, the lore is gorgeous and I love the artwork.
My favourite deck I ever played was zombie orcust because that was the first deck I played that was really competitive and I felt like I was playing it really well mainly because I had been playing zombies for a long time and orcust just made that deck so strong.
The eternal format is roughly the point when I joined Yu-Gi-Oh and while many wanted it gone and are still happy the four big decks of that era are gone, I kinda want them back. Maybe not at the power levels they were at but I miss Striker (my first competent deck) and I never got to play Orcust in it's prime despite coming to love it's current version. So yeah, when you said "eternal format is remembered fondly", I felt that on a personal level.
yo blade would you be willing to do analyses for older meta decks? like "What Made PePe So Broken" or explaining spellbook and dragon ruler format, or even as far back as tengu plants?
Ethernal Format honestly was a pretty solid one. A lot of diffrent META strategies that worked completely diffrent from each other and were very customizable. Just Thunder Dragon saw so many variations being viable and they all worked completely diffrently from each other. Pure Thunder Dragon, Thunder Control (with other stun monsters and back row), Danger Thunder (Which focuses on rank 8s), Crusadia Thunder Dragon, Thunder Dragon-Link, Thunder Dragon Orcust, Thunder Dragon Warrior toolbox. usw I've even saw a mad man play Thunder Dragon Spyrals (basically coloseus next to Sleeper) I honestly miss the format.
