I’ve seen some big projects on RUclips but this would take the cake. The cost will be monumental on this one. I won’t even guess. Good learning curve

Hi mate. I'd be hard pressed say under $100,000 to restore it. That car's guaranteed got $50,000 in Metal Fabrication, Panel Beating, preparation and last painting! There's Engine, Gearbox, Tailshaft, Diff all need Rebuilding. Full interior, Full Exhaust, Brakes, Suspension, Electricals and all the fiddly bits like Guages, Windscreens etc. I know, I'm nearly at the finish line coming to 6 figures!! Nick!
Worth saving for sure, 2-Door LC-LJ are Pricey now. Would make a nice GTR Clone.

I'm in the process of doing a restoration of an LC 4 door. All rust has been professionally repaired 6k. It now sits in stunning paint 12k. Next in line is the full interior trim 7k. And because I'm a mechanic of over 30 years the mechanicals are up to me. And I'm just going to go for a full rebuilt 202 with a set of tripples. A steel case celica 5 speed. And a 3,55 lid banjo. Wish I found your beast! Cos I would even now offer you at least 12k,if not more. But a well done tribute lc xu1 is around 100k to purchase. Good luck with your project. 👍
It’s definitely reparable most of the places that have rust in them are relatively easy to repair and hang on panels aren’t the problem the problem is repairing the shell it’s self
My guess is at least 30 k in parts and pieces. What you value your labor at I have no idea! If you were to pay a business it would get close to the 100k !
Cost to restore is always subject to Labour costs.
Findings parts, if not complete, is the hard part.
I can see you have the grille, but things like coupe reclining front seats and GTR rear seats are incredibly hard to come by.
Definitely worth saving if funds allow.

Hope hes got deep pockets. Couple a hundred k to fix that....... but well worth it. I've done RX3s in similar nick and it cost close to that. Werent these the same as a HA viva? Get one and use as a donor.

Check out patch maker for the inner and outer sills, rare spares definitely sell most of everything else body panels wise. By the look would have to think at least $75k min.

It is definitely salvageable. Just make sure you have ALL the parts BEFORE you even start. What's a car if you can't find a bonnet or doors right ??

It’s not the worst out there that’s been saved that’s for sure🙂. Whatever you spend fixing it you would surely get back and some 👍

60k to restore it to factory level. Getting parts will be very hard, so you gotta salvage every part as best you can.

Definitely a fixer. You’ve just got to find the right parts car. Even a 4 banger 4 door with pillars and front sill sections, the rest is Rare Spares.

Are you going to leave original colour and polished to a nice gloss finish,floor pan kits are fairly cheap for your car rare spares start about $90 bucks and up,great video mate,ash just subbed.
hi Have the car dipped ,way to much rust to keep rust patching . Lotsa rust will be hiding .

Is it a 161 High Compression ? It might be worth doing a GTR replica if it is. 30 -40k in parts plus labour but what do l know! Good luck. Looking forward to seeing it's progress.
Its a two door, it must be saved. I had a four door LJ a long time ago, and even back then I rarely saw a LC/LJ coupe. Please save.

Anything is savable. Lots of rupees and a hellava lot of love. Ask that knob from graveyard cars
15,000$ for the mechanicals / suspension o/haul /blast and repaint / shocks / brakes/ exhaust / diff /box/clutch / motor /accessories --radiator /mounts /alternator , steering column and rack o/haul stock type rebuild .
28,000g for body work, more used parts might cost u alot .

Torana s , surprised it even has discs , for the normal person it’s utter junk if you’ve got a restoration shop and your a steel fabricator plus the paintwork , engine rebuild a crap 3 speed and crap diff if it was a gtr sure torana s uh junk .
