i can remember when i used to go as a child in early 70's, you could not move on the beach at central pier, and watch the punch & judy show., by ek those were the days

Was good to see centre pier. Two more to go😁 shame you didn't mention the architecture and construction details. The seating around the edge of pier is superb. The work that went into creating the decorative iron work often goes unnoticed like many other architecture pieces I often always tell people to look up at bindings too and notice things, as we often just really take in eye level sights and miss things. Good videos and enjoy watching them. 👍
I do often show hidden architectural detail around Blackpool in my videos, but this video was more about a quick tour of the Central Pier. Look back at some of my videos, and you will see me pointing out old buildings that most people don't notice, as well as talk about the history of Blackpool.

You can also towards the east the Pennines and Winter Hill. It has always been claimed you can see Blackpool from places in Manchester such as top of Beecham Tower, Town Hall clock and CIS Building but I am sure Winter Hill is in the way. Vice versa it is claimed you can see Manchester from Blackpool Tower. Neither direction have I seen any evidence. Would like to know though.
Sounds plausible. I could also see Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell. Mr Wildside, regarding the locks 13:15, it is because of the combined weight of the locks. I believe one of the bridges in Paris was damaged, and when the locks were removed they weighed over 40 Tonnes. Imagine what would happen to the pier with that extra weight on it.
Would take a fair few locks to weigh 40 tonnes!

Hope Blackpool manages to avoid the raw sewage scandal going on right now.
I love the sea colours it's strange to see grey/brown to turquoise split by a perfect straight line. Wonder what causes such a big change in colour. You'd think the shallower the water the more turquoise it would be and the deeper the water the darker the colour would be but not the case at Blackpool. I say grey/brown as I can only see grey and you see brown. Maybe it's my monitor.

I can the tower but there's no way I could go on the big wheel. The worst part is when they stop it near the top. I'd be panicking the wheel would break down and I'd be stuck up there.

Just curious Stephen, as you mentioned it about half a dozen times during this. But have you ever had a YT video pulled for copyright music claims ? Id be surprised if you have.
Yes, many times. I upload a small file size test video to RUclips if I think it may have copyrighted music, like I did with this one. Luckily enough this one passed without having to trim out/disguise the music.
You would think that given how popular your channel is and how big an advocate and promoter of Blackpool you are, they would be begging you to do videos of places like the piers and other venues rather than be suspicious about filming.
I thought the big wheel was going to be replaced by a much bigger wheel next year mate!

Did you have your hand on the pole in the middle of the carriage? That is the only way it can spin.
It was just the weight transfer that caused the spinning when I moved.
