And I was so _HAPPY_ with my Canon Powershot SX60HS. Tut tut... Let us be thankful for our Blessings. But this is - _BEAUTIFUL_ What kind of Kingfisher is that little green dude. And was that an African Snipe? Waterbirds! My favourites! Thank you!
Great birding Chris. Love the footage of the Kingfisher. I assume you can use single AF rather than continuous for video as I like to set the focus point then leave it locked to that for some shots.
Thanks Chris, I will bear that in mind. I use a Panasonic FZ330 for filming wildlife in 4K which does a decent job. I use single point AF and it has a touchscreen so you can pinpoint the exact spot where you want to focus. The 25-600mm constant F2.8 Leica lens is good, I just want it longer sometimes! I have a 1.7X TC and attach that which takes it just over 1,000mm which aint bad.
Hi Chris, having had the P900 and now got the P1000, did you leave the video on auto focus. And which editing software did you use? Thanks again for sharing some great footage, the very reason I moved up to the P1000, the video!
Hi Richard,i do struggle personaly filming with my P1000,in situations where the subject is not moving around is ok as on AF i lock it but following moving birds etc i struggle with manual focus on the camera and relie on AF which can hunt in and out of focus, filming in windy conditions is also difficult as the lens extends so far out it makes getting steady footage difficult.all the best with your P1000 .Chris
Are you using a big lens? Are you in a blind? How are you getting such great filming? I love it! Great job Chris. Thumbs up to ya buddy. I''m sharing all your stuff. FaceBook, and Google plus, and twitter. You deserve the shares.
Thanks for this footage! Lots of shakiness and focus breathing, though. Chris, do you think you can improve results with the p1000 if you apply warp stabilizer in premiere pro or something similar, while using manual focus at the same time?
The P1000 i had was sold a good while back for the reason that i found getting steady footage very difficult with it ,but if you think this is bad compared to a lot wildlife footage put on you tube it is not too bad, thanks for watching.

Very nice quality. I would wish a non backround music next time.
