Back when I was good looking, I two stepped many a mile to this great sing-a-long song. What a great hook! So many great women don’t know how gorgeous they truly are! So true!
Sammy Kershaw, one of the pioneers who ushered in a new country sound in the l990's. Thank you for playing my favorite Kershaw record, with his "Third Rate Romance" a close second.
We all enjoy a blind reaction. It fun (and often HILARIOUS) to watch someone's first reaction to a song we grew up listening to. HOWEVER, I really appreciate that you take the time to research the history of the artists you react to! Not many reactors do that, and I feel like they miss a lot of the meaning behind so many songs.
A couple decades back we saw Sammy on a show singing Conway’s I’d Love To Lay You Down. My husband looked up and said Sammy was singing it with confidence, like Conway, the way it was supposed to be sung. That made him a fan of Sammy.
My husband picks on me with this song. He says it fits me all to well. Cause I say I don't think I'm beautiful and he always tells me that people look at me cause I am beautiful and he's lucky I chose him and not someone else.
My favorite song of Sammy’s is “Still Loving You” written by my friend Rock Killough. It was one of a dozen or so songs Rock wrote on a guitar with two strings while in jail. Lol! Great song you should check out.
Love Of My Life is the crown jewel of Kershaw’s career in my estimation. You ought to check that one out. The video is as stunning as the song; whoever that gaffer was is as much of an artist as Sammy.
You are so funny ... but right! Everybody is beautiful - or thinks they are. I am from a time when it was okay to not be beautiful - at least on the outside. We were all trying to be beautiful on the inside. It's okay to be average looking ... I have still lived a good life. God bless you.
I love Sammy Kershaw! He has a great voice and catalog. My favorite is Politics, Religion and Her. What a great choice. Great information P.J. Great reaction P.J. I like what you said about people trying to be a certain way, look a certain way.
Sammy is proof that not all country of the 90s was crap, but there were not enough like him. Pj, you have come so far with this stuff that I find that I am no longer the teacher, I am the student now.
You will always add to my knowledge of this wonderful music my friend. I hope you’re well. I’m in the hospital, my third day recovering from a medical emergency.
@@DjPjrocReacts911 in the past year, I thought several times that I detected some health issues in some of your videos. Cm my thoughts and prayers are (and have been) with you. I am doing fine, but I have been taking care of my wife for the last month because she had knee replacement surgery. While taking care of her, I have been trying to learn some new things, Aten, my musical instruments. That and moving a lot of snow the last month.
I wish her a speedy recovery. You are very observant, I’m hoping the doctors have finally figured things out for me. I’ll share more later. Be well brother!
Would love you to react to some Lefty Frizzell... Saginaw Michigan and The Long Black Veil are just two of my favorites. My daddy used to jam with him ❤️
Love this song! Haven’t heard it in years! Great reaction, as usual. Have a couple of songs for you to react to if you get a chance. 1) Hurricane by Luke Combs. 2) When my Train Pulls In by Gary Clark Jr. Two very different songs, but I think you’ll appreciate both. Luke is a new country superstar, more country-rock. Great voice. Gary Clark is like a cross between Jimi Hendrix and BB King. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for playing Sammy. Another good one is "Queen of My Double-Wide Trailer".
Probably Kershaw's best song.
My husband picks on me with this song. He says it fits me all to well. Cause I say I don't think I'm beautiful and he always tells me that people look at me cause I am beautiful and he's lucky I chose him and not someone else.
This song always reminds me of Mel McDaniels “Lord have Mercy Baby’s Got Her Bluejeans On”

John Berry's " Your Love Amazes Me" was His #1 hit in 1994 and He had six that were all great songs I really believe You will like them all Brother !
Thanks brother, I’ll be checking them out.
Often overlooked but no denying, Sammy Is Damn Good! Great voice! 👊
I like this even better teh second time through. Looking forward to you reacting to more of Sammy. Peace!
✌🏾
Great to feature Sammy! He's also a distant relative of the Ragin' Cajun' fiddle king Doug Kershaw. I think you'll enjoy hearing him, too!
@Dennis King
I've heard quite a bit about the "Ragin Cajun". Looking forward to hearing some of his stuff.
@Dj Pj-roc Reacts He's wildly entertaining and energetic. Definitely would love to see you react to a live performance of "Louisiana Man."

Amen 🙏 I fell in love with Sammy in 1990.
Doug Stone - 'In a different light'
Very, very cool!

Hell what does she know.... She's Beautiful.
Thank you! His full catalog…not one bad song. Sammy’s best body of work was on “Politics, Religion and Her”.
Matches is a must!
Thank you!

Thank you D.
Your welcome P.J!
Loved it of course.
. You should also check out Doug Kershaw. I think he was Sammy's uncle. He does a lot of Cajun themed music.
Sammy and Doug are third cousins (along with Doug's brother Rusty).
@@dennisking7872 Thanks. When you hear it only on the radio as in the old days you never know for sure.
Great reaction. I'm going to suggest "Third Rate Romance"
Oh yeah, she knows she's beautiful. There's not a beautiful woman on this planet that dosen't know she's beautiful.
Yard sale is a good one to by him

Lots of snow!
@@DjPjrocReacts911 it’s a good thing I have a snow thrower because I would be exhausted by now without one.

Listen to Julian Austin. He toured with Sammy.
